I have had little to no success with dries on the Niangua. I have caught a few small browns, but never a rainbow. I'm not even sure I've seen any trout rising to the surface to feed. I have caught them near the surface on soft hackles or cracklebacks. So, I guess my question is, has anyone ever had any success on dries on the Niangua?

...I'd say it's about perfect for wading...gets a little deep in the pool below...some pretty good water below the ramp...I waded accross and went down the opposite bank as far as the "second" riffle...tying up some special flies...prob hit it again Tues. morning...

...we usually put the kayaks in at bennett and take out at Barclay...by the time we get to NRO, it's getting late, so we usually don't fish as hard in that area...I'm sure it has plenty of trout...

...fished Barclay today and caught my first two rainbows there...one above the boat ramp at that long riffle, and one below the ramp...Finally!!!!!
