  2. why am I a Black Crappie?
  3. learned what i needed to learn...always a plethora of info on here....thanks again
  4. I have only fished Taney once, liked it, but just can't fish around others like that. I see the advantages and disadvantages to the stream bed. Thanks for the education. Now, to shuffle or not to shuffle, that is the question?
  5. I two step a little and maybe on a good night a waltz, but that's about it...
  6. thanks...Can't really seeing that as working on a consistant basis, but if it did why would that be considered either bad sportsmanship or cheating?
  7. I am sure this has been discussed before, but could someone please give me a small lesson in what exactly shuffling is? And it seems most don't like it, so an explanationn on that too...thanks.
  8. guage height at Tunnel Dam is 3.5. Is this the only guage that is assesible online? And if so, what would it need to be for the river to be at "normal" at bennett springs access and/or Barclay? I'm thinking about 2.5 or 3.0. Thanks.
  9. Always wanted to ask...What is with the name designation beneath everyones picture? Does it ever change? Just curious...and by the way, i find this forum helpful. I stay away from anything that doesn't have something to do with fishing in waters that i frequent...that way the "posturing" that can go on and on isn't a problem...thanks for your hard work. 13. Thanks for the report...may give it a try Thursday...
  14. With Valentines day coming....
  15. There is plenty of "soft" water on Stockton...i'd just stick to that...
  16. Congrats to oneshot on his 700th post.
  17. right now the lake is really low. We are going out sat. and scavenge the banks. also a good time to scout out fishing spots.
  18. I usually put in at State park, not the marina, but across the road where its free. Protected there from most wind so for your boat should be good in most instances. i prefer the lower lake, for the clearer water. Just my preference. Just east of the Mile Long Bridge (hwy 215) is a great place to bank fish. I have caught many nice smallmouth there and crappie. never a walleye, but i am sure they are there. Also just across the road is good from the bank. Still a couple of months till you can expect much action on the lake. Those pesky white bass should start making some runs up the river inn a few weeks. not much water so I dont know how that will work this year. I will start going over to Taylor Bridge the middle of the month. i mostly use a flyrod for white bass. its 10 minutes from my house, so sometimes I check it twice a day. they come and go quickly, especially in feb and early march. good luck.
  19. Bank fishing or boat? You didn't mention crappie, interested? Stockton is a great lake for all fishing. Walleye are my downfall, I can catch some, but not nearly as regularly as i would like. Caught more this past year than ever before, so maybe I am figuring it out. spring and early summer is a great time to throw a pink worm for bass. Not big size, but numbers are there. Smallmouth and largemouth like them. lots of 12 to 15 inchers. Biggest Ive caught was 24 1/2 incher, estimated at about 8 lbs. By far the biggest ive caught anywhere. white bass start running up the rivers in march, with april better. Walleye also make a run in feb and march, though its all about timing. good luck and ask if you have any more questions. Im no expert, but i live near the lake and get out about once a week in spring and early summer.
  20. First full moon in February is usually a good starting time....
