  1. You know it is a stupid thing, but I just can't tie that fly.
  2. What is the purpose of the removal?
  3. Wow, I love mine.
  4. Zarra, Your signature tag just made me bust a gut (AT&F...). I've got to get a bumper sticker with that on it. A lot off topic, but my all time favorite was a bumper sticker on a car in a work parking lot. I walked past it for weeks if not months and it read in big red bold print: JESUS LOVES YOU. One day a car forced me next to the car. I looked down and in very small black print, read: But everyone else thinks your an a$$hole. I must of looked pretty stupid, because I almost crapped myself laughing so hard. Anyway, great tag.
  5. Being a Project Manager can be like being a fisherman... some days are great and some really suck. Today was the later. So I took a break and re-read an old MO Conservationist from July. I wanted to know if anyone knew the outcome of the following: 1. Maramec Springs Hatchery was going to raise brook trout with rainbows in an effort to control a parasite called Salmincola californiensis. Anyone know if it worked? 2. MDC released the elk in Peck Ranch CA. Did anyone see or hear them? Anyone know how they did/doing?
  6. Thanks.
  7. Awesome video.
  8. I've never tried so don't have an opinion one way or the other. Just saw it listed on multiple Ozark hatch charts.
  9. Let me add, don't be afraid of bigger drys on broken water. I've had plenty of indicators hit as they went by.
  10. I agree with everything Jim posted except the leader. I prefer a short leader of six or seven feet. Try to find an leader with an indicator built into it. Feather Craft has one. If you use it with a single fly, you can save alot of flies by reeling in snags to the rod tip and pulling them free. Two other notes, work on roll casting and use short drifts working from the back of the hole to the front. If you start at the front and get a bad drift you can ruin the hole.
  11. Is the elk hair black or natural on the the little black elk hair caddis fly that some use here in the Ozarks? Also, what sizes are good?
  12. I can't get into specifics because I don't want to piss off anybody. Ted at Feather Craft just gave me a very nice package of equipment, and he didn't have to. I just want to say thanks publicly, and gestures like that is why I'll be a loyal customer for quite a while.
  13. I'm not scared of snakes and used to keep them for pets. But I hope not to get close enough to one to figure out.
  14. I have zero experience with cottonmouths, and I plan on trying out the upper Jack's Fork this season. I understand they are a curious snake and will approach canoes and people. I think I remember Al talking about that once. Anyway, is there a way to tell what they are from a distance? Second question, is there an easy way to tell the difference between a copperhead and the common watersnake (sorry don't know the name) that looks like it. F&F, every been bit yourself with all that handling?
  15. Way to take for the team Brian. I have to wonder for smallmouth fishing if trimming the dear hair is even needed.

    Mizzou-Ku Rivalry

How do you not start the basketball season with a KU/MU game at the Sprint Center? Talk about money, full arena and guaranteed to be the prime time game on TV.
  17. That's not a tying room, that's a fly shop. Very sweet.
  18. Good point, but that isn't 1.5M brown trout. I'm all for put and take of rainbows. I think (for what that's worth) is browns should be managed for trophy fishing via catch and release only. Mix those two, and the tourist money shall follow.
  19. I wouldn't think the deep water would hold enough oxygen to keep trout over the summer.
  20. What a great report. Thanks for posting.
  21. Thank you sir... updated
  22. What does that make me if I have a garage full of wood working equipment and a basement full of fishing equipment?
  23. Received.
