  1. What are miracle flies?
  2. As I seldom use it anymore, I am selling my Jon Boat. Consists of following: 14 foot 1979 Mon-Arc boat, 60 inches wide on top and 48 inches on bottom astroturf covered plywood floorboards and covered front casting deck. No leaks 15 HP 1996 electric start Evinrude motor. I knew original owner and the motor has less that 20 hours running time on it. Starts and runs great. Motor Guide trolling motor, Garmin LCR, pedestal seats, battery, gas tank, home made trailer with extra spare and drive on guides. Nice fishing boat and wide enough that you can stand up in comfortably. Attached are four pictures. Can be seen in Mexico,MO. PM me for address and phone number if you need more info. Asking $2200. Thanks,
  3. I agree with Wrench. I've got several myself and Okuma spools will work on them interchangeably. Dave
  4. I note the spring is still putting out about five times its normal amount which means it's probably still putting out murky water. Couple that with a hundred kids running all over the place and 100+ degree heat index and it doesn't look like the ingredients of a great trip.
  5. I'm like Wrench. What's there to keep you afloat? Looks like just a regular flyfishing vest from the picture.
  6. They are now calling for another dose of heavy rain in that area for next Monday and Tuesday.
  7. Weaver's added some pictures of the flooding on their website today. Looks like a real mess. I don't recall ever seeing it that high and that muddy. I think past flooding approaching that level caused a backup of warm water into the hatchery causing loss of a lot of fish.
  8. Go to Weavers web site and you can get a report that is updated around once a week. Also click on the links they provide at the bottom of their report and you can view a picture of the stream and also get the current numbers for the spring output and gauge height. Right now the stream is extremely high and muddy. Here's a link: http://www.missouritrout.com/weavers/report.html
  9. The current live camera view looks like Bennett is really high and muddy. Noticed the spring is putting out almost 15 times its normal output. Wonder if Gov. Nixon's cabins are still above water. The small parking lot by the dam appears to be under water.
  10. I stole it too Wrench. Great photo.
  11. That's a great idea Phil. When I plan to Bennett Spring I always wonder what shape the water is in. I used to call some of the businesses there to check but soon found that they have a vested interest in your coming down. An unbiased report would be most helpful. Dave
  12. I sent you a PM
  13. Do the Eagles have to stop at four fish?
  14. Heck, they even built him a couple of new cabins for this year. Right across from the gauge house.
  15. My last two batteries were Exides from the Columbia,Mo Menards store. The first one would not take a full charge after a few months so I took it back and they gave me a new one no questions asked. The second one worked fine. Bottom line-I'd use their batteries again.
  16. Bob Clouser always said that everyone puts too much bucktail on them.
  17. Dang, I didn't think I'd get 82 responses to my simple question-how's the fishing!
  18. Nice start to the year. You live in a great area. Mt son lives in Rogers, so I get down that way often.
  19. You all might want to go over onto the Flytying Forum and look for some posts from a guy who goes by "silvercreek". He is a Dr. who has developed and sells a line of UV resins and lights. Everyone who has used them claim they are the best on the market and not overpriced like some. Check out his various posts. His undergraduate degree was in chemistry and he knows what he's talking about. I haven't ordered from him yet but plan to.
  20. Wrench, I think the "6" refers to the amount of flex in the rod, not the rod weight. Orvis has some illustrations on their web site showing how the number correlates to the amount of flex (bend) in the rod. Dave
  21. I think that section below the wooden bridge has been closed to winter fishing for years. Around ten years ago I was fishing where the stream dumbs into the river and a guy came up and warned me not to cast into the spring branch or I could get a ticket. I think the rule is to prevent people from catching trout at the end of the spring branch but claiming they were catching them in the river so they could keep them.
  22. I would add a small crawdad crankbait and a Little Cleo to the above assortment.
  23. Anyone fished the Bennett C&R lately? Upcoming weekend weather looks like it may be tolerable. Was wondering if the fishing was worth the trip and expense.
  24. OK. Thanks guys.
  25. What are "frenchies"? Thanks
