  1. Holy smokes! Awesome!!!
  2. Hellgrammites (Dobsonfly larvae) are prevalent and meet the gnarly leggy requirements.
  3. F&F: 54 Larson: 1
  4. Nice meeting you today, Scott. Next sunny day that warms the back of that cove I'm gonna nail them at sunset!
  5. I've got an old trailer with no boat on it (boat is in a slip) that you are welcome to use. PM me if I can help.

    Stripers

    Nice! What did they hit?
  7. Great idea! Is there a difference between trolling a topwater and reeling it in? Other than just covering more water? If I could get my trolling motor to walk the dog I would do it.

"I'm just not interested in eating anything you have to clean with tin snips." It takes a serious saw to get a nice T-bone.

  11. So how was the trip?
  12. What an awesome spot. Congrats! I would unpack one or two boxes before jumping in the creek... well at least the ones with my tubes and tiny flukes.
  13. That sounds like an awesome set-up. I've seen a 42" striper nail a tiny PoP R on top.
  14. Why did they bring them to Cabelas? Do they even sell spearfishing gear? Should have taken them to the dive shop.
  15. Ok. I'll admit that also.
  16. Whoop! Nice one!
  17. You know, many big wake boats have trailers that match the boat. This can make them easy to spot back at the ramp so you can let the air out if the correct tires. I would use the valve stem the first time and the fillet knife for each offense thereafter.
  18. Awesome trip. I've always wondered how those smallmouth survive way up there. Some of those pools get pretty shallow and stagnant some summers. Good to know you can still catch them up there.
  19. Was it a real perch? Yellow perch?
  20. That is a nice walleye! Well done!
  21. Some buddies and I went on our annual float trip this past weekend. We floated from Carver to Woolum slowly over 3 days. We typically slaughter the smallmouth with tubes, roostertails, and flukes. We did the first part of Friday, but then it poured for a few hours so hard that the river came up nearly 2 feet and turned into Yoohoo. The rest of the trip we could not entice a bite. Anyone ever have any luck fishing the Buffalo after it has risen and is muddy? Do the fish just hunker down and get lockjaw until things settle down?
  22. Cool. Never seen one of those before. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Well, it is the "special regulation" zone below Beaver Dam. Not necessarily fly fishing only though. Barbless hooks. Treble hooks are allowed, but they must be barbless. Artificials only - no live bait.
  24. Yes, Sir. Snap some pics and post them. I bet someone on here can id them.
  25. Please share these pics. Not sure I believe the smelt and herring. Add creek chubs to the list. (Not sure of the scientific name, but they are in War Eagle and the White River.). I think the key word here is "predominant". I would bet gizzard and thread fin shad are 95% of the diet.
