Fished the kick off tournament for Webb Outdoors Solo Pro, and it was extremely tough. The bite was strong early until the clouds moved out with minimal wind. Caught 14 fish with 6 keepers. The highlight of the day was when I was in search of a kicker and it happened. The fish took me under a four stall dock got pinned underneath the cable in the middle some how the fish decided to swim back out towards me into the net. That fish got me into the check line finishing 10th out of 70ish boats. Rk did the dirty work again. Good luck and enjoy the weather. Solid 16 lbs won then fell slowly. A-rigs and cranks, grubs were popular for the successful anglers. Wt up the white 46.3-47.7.

Same lakes again, make the world championship interesting instead of all the pros passing out way points that they have caught fish on over the last few years. It will still be exciting but put em on different lakes. Example, Beaver would be GREAT. Its where it first started!!! That would be a challenge. I bet Table Rock will host one sometime, they can trailer to JQH, the open this year in March may be a pre cursor. We shall see.

Work hard for the bites is exactly right, finished 2nd with 14.78. If you looked at my GPS it looked liked spaghetti. Fished two places at different parts of the day and caught 2 key fish to cull up. Fish are moving around with this warm weather but you have better to pack a lunch if you no what I mean. Cranks did the damage for me. I heard the boat traffic up the river was busy, I veered away from the crowds.

I would fish around the dam area to the mouth of the Theodoshia River. Fish islands, mainlake gravel points at the mouthes of spawning pockets. All you need in my opinion for bait is a 3-4inch tube/gizit-what the locals call it. Insert a jig head in the tube and cast or drag it 5-25ft of water. Play with depths and you can zero in on them. Favored depth is 10-12ft water in my opinion. Carolina rigs, ned rigs, jerkbaits, and wiggle warts/rock crawlers will produce as well. One problem could be how much rain the area around the lake gets, if we get some floods bull shoals holds all the water coming from the upper two lake west of there so the lake could be really high. Good luck.

Fishing Near Mill Creek Campground
Sprint21fter replied to FeatherChucker's topic in Table Rock Lake
There are lots of brushpiles planted all around the bank that surrounds the campground. The ramp area gets replenished with tournament fish released there from the night Tournaments. The big pocket next to the ramp heads to the east towards the bridge would be a great area to fish with your kayak. Go early and late since July is the busiest time for pleasure boats. Have fun. -
Diddo down the lake around Baxter as well. Boated 2 on a RK. Moved out on some drops with the A-rigs and had 5 bites with 3 taking my dummy baits and the other 2 just pushing the bait with no hookups.

The only effect the zebra's have on the lake is costing you some lures. The fishing has been great!

Bass don't have mirrors for themselves see how big they are so they know what size of bait to eat.

The winner of the Derby gave some really good information on what he was looking for and what structure he caught off of. You have to be patient with the style of fishing. I would describe what he was doing would compare it deep swimming a grub over drops in deep water.

Thanks for the kind words hammer, I throw the A-rigs but can't break that 15lb mark using it. So, I fish something that is just as effective and I am confident throwing that I have caught several 15lbs and higher bags of fish.
-
I tried my hardest to win it cranking vs the chandelier but there were alot guys that threw it and didn't have much success either. Go with what you have confidence in and see what happens. I just can't figure the big bite out on that thing yet. I love cranking if there are enough fish up in the zone to catch em.

Had a club tournament out if Lead Hill, water temp was 43.7-44.2. It was grind today. 8 Bites 5 keepers. 14.45lbs. Finished 2nd. 1st place was 17 lbs. We had the only 2 five fish limits that I saw out of 2 clubs fishing. All my fish was caught on the red rk, 1st place caught his on the A-rigs he had 7 keepers all day as according to him. 5.38 was big fish. I believe it was caught on a crankbait as well.

Personal biggest largemouth before and after the fish kill?
Sprint21fter replied to Hammer time's topic in Table Rock Lake
6 1/4lbs on a 6XD in the Baxter area, May 2014. 2nd biggest 6lbs for sure didn't have a scale but caught it on a plopper this year Baxter area as well. If I was in California it wouldn't have been a legal catch. Later this year I caught a double close to 10 lbs on the plopper caught these in Kings river. Happy new year everyone. Except for the crankbait fish the others were caught in 1 1/2 ft of water. -
Sounds like a great day.
-
X's 2 on losing a plopper. Completely mistified! If it doesn't work properly I will take it.

I saw 4 a-rigs in trees at the dam Wednesday but we're all homemade jobs that were rusted up. Also found a new rock crawler.
-
I saw one boat 3/4 up in Beardsley sitting in the gut of the creek arm, he sat in the same spot for as long as I was there. I hit 6 points at the mouth to 1/2 way which was a solid 1 hour I couldn't tell if he was jerking anything in the boat but he was glued to his screen vertical fishing.
-
Yes, it's quite the compliment from Mr. Babler and other great folks on this forum.
-
The lower end always gives me problems. I had to cover a bunch of points to catch these fish. One fish per stop, except one where I ran into 3 keeper small mouth. Hit easily 30 spots, running a pattern. Some spots didn't produce. It looks good on paper but its a grind.

Shout, Shout, Shout, cows are coming home!

I will back to work at school Tuesday so I am taking advantage of some days on the water.

Put in at 86 Ramp at 1st light. My 2nd cast with the crawler produced my kicker for the day solid 4 lb black. After that had to put my head down and grind it out. Ended up catching 20 with 9 keepers. Other keepers were small mouth biggest 16 1/2 inches. Crawler did the most damage with all keepers coming on that. Jerkbaits, grub produced some more bites. Wt: 48.9-48.3. Mainlake points and secondary points with mixed basketball sized rock.
