  1. Well for this shallow bank beater TR has been tough, had a state tournament last weekend on bullshoals and found some willing to bite. The shallower the better. Once I found what rock to fish it was on! The fish were gorging on craws before the tournament. Plopper and cranks did the damage. Finished 15th but needed a top 10 to advance to the regional. Our club won the team event with the help of Fisherman and others we had a good time.
  2. The front killed me for sure also, dropped from 4th to 15th. I put all of my eggs into the shallow game. Topwaters and wiggle warts was what I caught my fish on. Saturday had only 6 total bites and landed one of them. Good luck at Lake of the Ozarks in April Brian.
  3. Fished Kings from 11-4pm, hitting anything with wind on it. Successful trip with lots of 12-13inch kentuckies, biggest was a 3 1/2 largmouth. Lost a 5lber on a buzzbait. Caught 30plus fish only 4 keeper bites and landed 3. Lots of birds on the bank but only the tiny shore minnows were around from what I saw. Weather needs to keep cooling and it will be great. Water temp at 11 was 74.2.
  4. My dad has a photo of his dad dragging a 300lb grouper with an old Hay Pick. He caught it off one of the bridges in Florida. Donated the meat to a local orphanage.
  5. SHHH! The cats out of the bag!
  6. I bet it will come into play when they fish Cherokee this year if we have a cold winter. F&F will rule the day!
  7. Covered miles of water as well from Pt 20 to mouth of both rivers and every thing in between. Had several bites but no come and get it eaters. Plopper, spook fish. Lots of schooling way out in the main channel today. But caught dinner on a spoon today. Come on cooler weather!
  8. Big eyes em!
  9. Wonder what other things he measures that off of?
  10. My first big memory of BASS was when I was 9 years old it was 1996 and my dad took me to the weigh in and wouldn't you know it Ray Scott asked for volunteers to help shuttle the fish back to the release boats. Then they used a rubber maid laundry hamper. Biffle caught a 9lb 15oz toad for big fish. I remember that fish was as long as the hamper. Unfortunately, Charlie Campbell fell in his boat breaking a couple of ribs and finished 2nd to Gary Klein that year.
  11. Ah, that time of year for them to eat a plopper, spinnerbait, buzzbait, spook, etc. Power fishing extravaganza!! Big Fish Feedbag coming to a boat near you.
  12. Received my fish smelly secret baits. Thanks Pepe, they will get used on Bull Shoals in October.
  13. Ahh, shallow fish!
  14. Same results for my dad and his partner fishing out of 39 bridge Friday night. All fish bit moving baits, crankbaits or spinnerbaits.
  15. No wakes, even better.
  16. The few fish we caught Sunday we had to make repeated casts at the pieces of cover to draw strikes. Be it a rock, corner of dock, big cedar tree. Wait a minute the fish are scattering. CRAP!!!
  17. Agree 1000%, Merc.
  18. Sometimes the fish just don't bite when you are there. There is always next time. It had been cloudy for several days in a row and I am sure that the fish partied their heads off and rested until the sun went down.
  19. Fished club tournament out of Old 86, with a crisp air temp of 59 and no clouds, figured it would be tough but to only get 3 bites all day and my non-boater to get 5 bites it was a head scratcher. Had plenty of bait in the areas that I fished but not much for active fish. 1 keeper for me that was 3 1/4lbs, and co-angler had 2 nice 16 inch brownies. Not a single 5 fish limit was brought in out of 29 fisherman. Big fish was a nice 3.70lb brownie on the boater side and a 3.55 black was big fish on the non-boater side. All our fish was caught on topwaters, I mixed in a spoon throughout the day without a bite. Most of the fish that were caught were caught in the first hour in a half.
  20. I will say you can find enough in knee deep water. Table Rock is fishing good shallow just have to cover lots of water.
  21. Fished a benefit tournament for the Berryville FFA out of Big Indian. 18 boats fished. It was tough. Our boat came out on top with 13.90 due to a dead fish 1 lb penalty. Nothing I could have done to save him either since the fish decided to eat a spoon down to his rear end. Only had 7 bites all day. Mix of topwaters and spoons. The kids enjoyed themselves as several got to fish in it and have bragging rights at school.
