  1. We Fished around Baxter today and it was a head scratcher! Caught 9, I hooked 4 and quick released 2, 1 still has a brown crawler in its face tried to boat flip a 3lber on 10lb line. Still mustered 7 keepers. Did catch a 9 inch crappie on a spoon 70ft deep over 85ft. Great day with Fishrman! Wt 54.
  2. Those fish are in trouble!
  3. Was curious if the bite was the same up the James!
  4. Pulled this little guy out of the live well when I got home!
  5. He takes after his momma. Thank you!
  6. I let several more get away! Your safe! Plenty of banks that I didn’t hit too! Have a Merry Christmas!
  7. Hit the river mid morning! Went to where I caught em Saturday totally dead. Colored water shut it down. Was surprised by that, ran to where the water cleared back up and it was on! Caught over 30, 12 solid keepers. Every bass was a Kentucky that I landed. Did have a few heavy fish pull off that’s gonna happen. The fun started when the family came up for a little picnic and quick trip in the boat. Boated a nice Walter on a jerk bait next cast big Kentucky, had some help reeling it with my youngest! Wt: clear water was 52. Colored water temp was 48. Missouri craw rock crawler did the work today. Caught a 20 inch Walter on it too! Merry Christmas Eve! Walters will be hitting the grease!
  8. Right on!
  9. No hurt feelings here. I can be a sneaky deep water fishing if I have too, but I don’t have enough time to idle and find the mother load. I know where some deep trees and other types of structures are and I will fish them accordingly. I’ve spooned fish on the bottom at 80ft, my dad taught me that, he also taught me shallow cranking but also how to fish a DD 22. He taught me to always fish your strengths. I’m all about helping people out trying to catch more fish. Had a fellow bass club member ask for some help for a top ten he qualified for on Bull Shoals last week and he caught a solid 15 lbs cranking. He asked me why I share information with people and I told him nobody knows how I’m presenting the bait: cadence/speed/colored water etc. Thanks for the compliment! Happy Holidays to everyone!
  10. Fished Kings River 1-5pm windy channel swing banks 7-8ft brown rock crawler. 7 keepers, 2 solid largemouth and 5 big Kentuckies 16-17 inches. 20 total fish. Picture of the Kentucky doesn’t do it any justice. Surprised at the lack of muddy water where I was fished up to deer bluff visibility still 7-8 ft very clean. Wt 52.
  11. A fellow fishing buddy of mine and bass club winner won this weekend! All cranking brush and rock, did catch 1 on a jig in the back of the creek! 19.31 lbs day 1, 17lbs day 2! Congratulations Jeff!
  12. So that's your secret weapon now!! That shimano rod you brought me is superb for cranking also. Been doing some work that last few weeks.
  13. We got the jerseys they were at the house! We did wear em on stage Friday and Saturday!
  14. Was blessed to get drawed and qualify thru the Bull Shoals event weighed 13.83. Best part is I’m fishing with my 13year old son. Memories of a lifetime! We won the family division side and finished 17th! Friday morning 2hour fog delay, haven’t fished the rock since the Ultimate Challenge tournament. Fish are deep, didn’t fish deep at all! Got tricked, caught keepers early chasing wind and shade lines fishing crawlers and blades but only managed 3 in 2 days! Made the first cut with a 3.5lber. Finished with 7.5 lbs for 2 days. It’s going to be won deep using live scope. If there was anyone having success shallow they must have been up the James. I fished from the dam to mouth of kings river. It was a professional first class ran tournament.
  15. I’ve won my share of money on that color!
  16. Just got back from Dardanelle practicing for the state tournament in Arkansas Bass Nation, only mustered 5 bites, caught 2 dinks.
  17. After getting honey do’s done and watching the hogs get beat went to the lake for a couple hours. Caught 10, 2 keepers. Had another solid fish pull off. All on the crawler on bluffs. Wt: 70.
  18. It's all about decisions, thought we were on a solid shallow pattern running a couple creeks and pockets with buzz baits/jigs on boat docks up the lake. That's what we did the first day, scratched out 3. Slept on the decision to go down the lake the second day and was going to hit a couple of areas and as we were running looked over at place where the wind was blowing into just right and made an instant decision to fish there, caught 4 of our 5 keepers in that one little area 150 yds. It worked out!
  19. Finished 27th 18.5 lbs over the weekend fishing with fellow bass club buddy. Had a great time had to cover a lot of water in 2 days to get what we caught. 3 keepers on buzzbait, 1 crawler, 3 on jigs, 1 on a blade. Fall bite is in full swing! Baxter to the dam was where we were at! Caught 5 bonus Walters all over 18inchers! Those don’t count in a Bass derby!
  20. I can drive it right into the ditch anytime Mr. Babler. It happens to me all the time fishing this way. You see the fish but can’t get them to react. However when it goes right no one can touch you. Fishing is a fun game.
  21. Fished PT 5 to the dam all day. Caught 2 solid keepers running the shallow pattern as a few weeks ago. Did manage 6 keeper bites. 3 of them loaded up good and started cranking them in and they pulled off. Had one all the way to the boat and went to swing it bounced it off the side of the boat. 2 other decent bites nothing but air. 15lbs won the club tournament. Fishrman won big fish with a 5.35. WT: 74-75.
  22. What a difference a week makes since the joe Bass last Saturday. 2 kicker bites got me the win! Fishing the same pattern as Fishrman very shallow water. Conditions were perfect cloudy perfect wind. Fished hard where I’ve caught big ones before and it worked out! Wt low 80’s it’s changing guys.
  23. I’m still scratching my head over why it changed so much. That’s the joys of competitive fishing! Enjoyed the day like always with Fishrman. We caught our limit which is the goal but the size definitely changed! We’ll get em again!
  24. Bass Catcher!
  25. 4 years ago in July, whopper plopper in Kings River, saw the big one blow up on the plopper horsed it in and there were 2! Over 9lbs of fish. Had a double on a A-Rig but that's cheating!
