  1. Fish were just off the first drop going into 10-12ft.
  2. Fished club tournament and was optimistic since I had had a couple of good trips. Finished 3rd, our club goes off of 10 fish. We had 7 keepers for a smidge over 20lbs. Caught six of them in the first couple of hours and when the sun got higher it flat got tough. We had 2nd highest individual bag just under 15lbs for 5 fish. 18lbs was 1st highest individual stringer, they also had big fish 6.39. Wt: 47-49at the end of the day. Oh yeah there was plenty of wind also.
  3. There are big bass in Taneycomo and the upper white below beaver that stay there to eat on the rainbows. 2-3lb bass will easily eat a stocked rainbow.
  4. Bet that fish has been around a few years
  5. I would hold on to them until March when the elites start stocking up when they come to Bull and Norfork this April.
  6. The top two teams are known to use the a-rig really well, don't really know
  7. 18lbs won the winter series, fell off after that. 13 lbs second.
  8. They have been putting on their winter time weight for sure, crawdads, crawdads, crawdads.
  9. After 3 previous trips out of the dam area and fishing the clear water with 4bites to show for, decided to fish up the lake at Baxter. After seeing the muddy water figured it was going to be tough. Ended having 7 bites with 5 nice keepers. Easily had 15 lbs don't think I had 16. 3 nice largemouth, 2 nice spots. If you find a bite work the area over with repeated casts, they are grouped up. Flipped 1/2oz black/purple jig. Wtemps: 45.8-46.1. Slow, slow, slower was the key for me.
  10. Cow creek ramp FYI
  11. My team partner fished and they finished in 8th, said the bite was good all day, if they would have executed in the last hour they would have moved up more but that's fishing. Didn't hear what they were doing, but I would guess they threw spinnerbaits.
  12. Umbrella flash mob jrs, 3/8oz lucky strike swimbait belly hooks rigged tex-pose it will make the rig less weedless and you can normally pop it free on the retrieve and fish it tight to the cover which is where the fish normally setting, swimming fluke jrs or kalin grubs, throw the all day if you can so you can get your confidence up with it. Good luck
  13. There is no fish to be found biting in Kings River
  14. You might be an OAF member if you like do some "Spooning" You might be an OAF member if "streaking" gets you pumped up.
  15. Our club goes by total boat weight for the payout, but Individual standings for Angler of the Year is 5 fish limit. So, out of 10 fish per boat 8 fish for 17.84, means 8.5lbs for a 4fish.
  16. M&M, water color was awesome in my opinion. Visiblity 6ft. 176, agree it is a mess getting in or out if there is a tournament going out of there. Cheese, didn't hear what the weights were just 1 guy out of 15 caught a limit
  17. Missed a club tournament on Saturday and by all indications it was tough for the majority of the anglers that fished. They fished out of 39 bridge. So, I decided to go down lake a little a fish around Baxter and see what was going on. Fished 1-5:30pm. Water temps 54-53 degrees. Mainly threw threw wiggle warts off the main channel and at mouths of creeks. Wind blown banks with the biggest rock I could find was where I got bit. Ended up with 12 fish and 4 keepers. Not 1 largemouth, all keeper spots and smallmouth. Did look out deep with a spoon and found a school but they didn't want bite.
  18. If Grand has them is the water clarity due to the silt then 3-4 ft over there. Typically, the water clarity gets better, at Bull easily see 20plus feet or better.
  19. The fish don't care what you have. Most tournaments require a minimum of 50hp and have working live wells. The addiction gets worse once you get the taste for it! Good luck.
  20. It would be different a venue that far up the lake.
  21. Deuchbags!
  22. It took an 8.78 last time when the Big Bass was that early several big 7lbers were weighed. We had the foul weather front come in and the big girls were eating. Wiggle Wart caught the winning fish.
  23. All of them!
  24. Watson is a very skilled angler. His dad taught him alot and a few of his friends from around here are the best sticks around. Robbie Dodson, Jeff Fletcher just to name a couple. He has put his time in and has the time to put in the hours. Alot of people get rubbed the wrong way on how he talks. He is loud to say the least but that is probably due to his military career. He is as passionate about fishing and competition as everyone on here.
  25. A team that fishes our bass club placed 3rd with 14lbs. Didn't hear what won. Blades and topwaters caught their fish.
