Wow - that spot in the first photo is incredible! So beautiful. Good for you and your dad.
-
Like anybody needs THAT kind of crap dragged into a good cat fight!
-
Because what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! First time I've ever said that and it sounds just as stupid coming from me as I always thought it did when other people said it. Sorry...
-
Maybe. Or then again, maybe we're just really not all that bad after all!
-
Yep. Not much different now than pro sports since free agency ruined them too. Although it doesn't seem to bother the millions and millions of people that still pay out the gazzoo to watch and support 'em. It won't happen but I still wish the rule would be a three year commitment just like football and baseball. If they can do it why not basketball? If the boys want to go pro out of high school let 'em. For the ones who make the wrong decision and fail, I doubt it will be last mistake they ever make in life. Kinda like the rest of us.....

I dunno, that scalper stuff has always scared my little sissy butt to the point that I've never tried it. I'm afraid I'd end up spending $500 only to be turned away at the gate! I know Augusta National has instituted a bunch of new rules this year and come up with ways to detect third party tickets and say they will not honor them. And sellers that can be identified will be banned for life. I don't know that it will make a huge difference but it just adds to my fear factor!
-
Hopefully, they'll all be a little more "dependable" although the rule might be changed by the time they're in the mix and they'll have to decide pro or school and not have the option to bail if they choose school. I hope so anyways, I hate that one and done crap. We'll be lucky to have three recognizable faces at the start of next year. Back to just cheering for the uniform instead of the person.

He's my hero living my dream. I've applied for tickets to the Master's every year since they started the lottery (1995 I think) only to receive verification of my position in life (a rejection letter) every year since. I don't even care about seeing an actual tournament round - I'd be beyond thrilled with a Monday or Tuesday pass to a practice round. Sometimes I think that the mere one in a gazillion possibility of actually winning some year is all that's keeping me alive because if I ever do actually get to attend I will then be able to die in peace and with a smile on my face!

Sellout. Oh the shame.
-
That's more like it! Now that you're "Porterless" maybe you can get back to being your old self again!
-
You just makin' up names here or are those real people? Those first one's I mean. Sound like artists or maybe musicians.....
-
Run cross country or marathons then (although maybe just as dumm) and leave the stupid looking ball out of it. God gave 'em two good hands - USE 'EM! Commies.......

That's one of the best reports (and there've been about a million on here that are all beyond awesome) that I've seen. What a week of catching! Without those terrific photos I wonder how many would have questioned the validity of the text alone? In fact, try going back and reading about just the first couple of days without looking at the pics and tell me you're not thinking, "Yeah, right." Of course, I've got nothing but time to sit here and "wonder" so maybe it's just me. What a great week guys - congratulations on the week, the tournament and making a bunch of old dude's feel even more inadequate!!!

Good for her! Now. if she can also make sausage gravy you've truly hit the trifecta of life! To clarify, my wife isn't "better" at golf than me (I and I alone determine and establish all definitions of the term "better" in regards to golf). However, she does have TWO hole in ones and I have, well, somewhere around a couple less than that....... Consequently, I have established an ongoing moratorium on hole in ones stating that any that she might make from this point forward DO NOT COUNT until I make one! Seems fair enough.
-
Exactly. I actually prefer "Communist Plot" or "Beginning Terrorist Activities for Children".
-
Unless, of course, she plays golf too! Right Champ? Nice goin' Duck Hunter!

Well, that makes one of us! Actually, I think this year was his best coaching job since he got to KU. This team just really wasn't that good, or big, or deep and not having our 6'9", one and done, presumptive lottery pick play even a single second was a lot to overcome. Getting blown out in Allen Fieldhouse by Texas Tech, Arizona State and Oklahoma State not to mention Washington in the Sprint Center (none of the last three even made the tournament) pretty much exposed these guys as not very good. Then to win the Big 12 by two games as well as the conference tournament and get a number one seed? Honest KU fans were surprised if not shocked at the level of success this team achieved this year. It seemed like a lot of smoke and mirrors stuff to me and I didn't think we could beat Seton Hall much less Duke. I'm beyond happy to have made another Final Four even if we were made to look like a JV team by Villanova as I think it all just finally caught up to us. They were just flat out a way better team and we would have had to play even better than the Duke game to have had a chance. And for whatever it's worth I hope he coaches here till he dies! Or at least until I do......

Well, so much for a great game! Wow, what a shooting exhibition. The only other game that I can remember that was even close to similar was when Syracuse beat us in the championship game in 2003. And they shot 18 threes and made 11 which seemed ridiculous at the time but Villanova MADE 18 of 'em! Imagine a team shooting 40 three's in one game. And only 25 two's. My, how things have changed. Heck, they could have moved the line back to NBA range and they STILL would have probably made 13 or 14 of those babies! I still can't decide if that game was a freak/fluke for 'Nova or if they're just that good. Monday will remove all the mystery I guess, but so far, I'm thinking they're just that good. Losing always sucks but it's doubly worse when you're never even in the game past the two minute mark. Nonetheless, this KU team exceeded all (my) expectations and by a considerable margin. Good on Villanova though. Great performance by a great team. And Mizzou fans had something to be happy about for at least one night!

I don't know how you guys do it. If Chicago could be moved to somewhere just outside Fresno the rest of you would probably be OK. Although then you'd probably be Kansas without the muddy lakes I guess.......

Aw, c'mon man, that's no fun! I was expecting one of your many insightful, arousing and blatantly insulting comebacks to strategically put me back in my chickenhawk place! I gotta say, this year was the closest I've ever come to actually feeling sorry for MU fans (I said close). I even tried to imagine what it must be like to have finally been delivered "the chosen one" only to have him, too, snatched away just when he was needed the most. And THEN to be teased by his unexpected return just in time to lead us to the promised land and finally purge all of those miseries of the past only to play like a dog and actually make us worse. It was hard for even me to take much satisfaction from what had to be total and absolute torment - downright cruel in fact. And now if BOTH brothers go to the NBA who knows what'll happen and how long before Cuonzo gets run out of town too. Believe me when I say that at least this one Jayhawk is fully aware and appreciative of how lucky we are to be where we are today no matter what happens next. Heck, we lost our lottery pick for the entire season and it probably made us better. Fortunate indeed. Thanks for still letting us share your lakes though! Even if I am still banned from your cove. Rock Chalk?
-
Tried to burn it to the ground is the key here. You guys can't ever do anything right. I'll never understand why God gave you all those beautiful lakes unless it was to try and make up for the difference in basketball!
-
He is beyond welcome to these Kansas mud holes (and wind factories to boot)! I absolutely HATE fishing in my home state - even when I'm catching 'em.
-
Thanks for that! Great stuff and now I feel even better about my decision to go with the G2 despite all of the warnings against it by those "in the know" about such things. I thought then and am even more convinced now that most of those fellas were way more concerned about what was best for them and their employers then they were about me or anybody else that was considering a G2. At least three different guys at three different dealerships left me with the words, "You'll be sorry." and two of them sold Evinrudes! Well, just imagine how many customers decided right then and there that they weren't about to risk their money and conceded to go with a Merc. That's a lot to overcome for Evinrude (at least in this part of the country) but I'm beginning to think that they just might be winning this fight and I hope they do.

Out of the ten I've owned, I've only had one that I thought was less than optimum and it was a 487 with a 150 Mariner. I called the factory and told them what I perceived the problem to be and asked if they had any suggestions and they asked if I could bring it by. It just so happened that I had a trip to Bull Shoals coming up in a couple of weeks so they had Gary Howard meet me at the ramp and he spent the next two hours or so swapping out props and testing them and when he was finished I had picked up about 5 MPH (which wasn't really my primary concern) and it handled a thousand times better (what I did care about) and the hole shot was much improved as well. He explained what he did and why as well as why it worked and while I stood there and nodded my head I still have no idea what on earth he was talking about! I do remember there was something to do with it being a new hull design and they had set up the early ones while testing in cold water and without a realistic load and that didn't translate to warm water and all my junk. What I do know is that it made a ton of difference but every other one I've had has been fantastic right out of the box. Speaking of boxes, I seriously doubt that I'll buy another boat before they put ME in one so I'm not overly concerned with what happens next at Ranger although I'm enjoying following the birth of Vexus and find it both entertaining and intriguing. I got to know some of those guys over the years and am pulling for them to do well. Pretty good blood lines that's for sure.
