Night Fishing With Submersible Lights
Goggle-Eyed replied to fishingaddiction's topic in Table Rock Lake
I agree, just make sure you stay away from large lighted docks like condos, community docks, etc. It works best if you can find "dark" areas. I am not sure if they work as good here as a lake like stockton, bull shoals, pomme, etc.. since there is so much artificial light created by the community docks. -
Oh, it's okay, Jerry says so... LOL.... To the OP, I highly suggest getting it tested by the methods mentioned above!!!!

so are Trout Wildlife? What's the difference in raising game fish or game animals? Just curious? I agree with the issues related to CWD but I don't understand how raising game fish is different from a game animal. I personally don't want to go and hunt high fenced but isn't that exactly what our current trout parks are? Isn't that what parts of the white river have become? For other states like Texas isn't that what the ShareLunker program is all about? raising monsters?!?! Again, I don't really have a dog in the fight other than I hate blanket restrictions. I agree with not allowing the animal byproduct feed, just like it is not allowed in cattle feed... I am sure at one point in the world Cattle were wild, just like deer or buffalo. I am also sure that the world changes everyday. Not arguing the intent of the breeders, just the legal argument of "wildlife" and how fish don't qualify as wildlife...

LOL, Yep LOZ sucks, it is dirty, nasty and the fish are all gone.... go some where else if you are a fisherman!!!! I have said it before, I still think it is cleaner than the late 80's. Has party cove ever tested high for E-Coli? I know PB2 has and I know of a couple of other areas, but I don't recall Anderson Holler being one of them?

^^^ what he said about the small???? Been fishing this lake a long time and only seen a couple of smallies, usually near Ha Ha Tonka or way up a River... Kinda cool if they are moving but kinda doubtful without photos.... Guess anything is possible... Joe

I think that would be Johnny Jr... Or John Jr... or the "other Johnny" All Hale the "blood vessel"... LOL, Johnny's son has definitely promoted Bow Fishing. Having seen the turn out of kids at Bowfishing events, I am just glad he is promoting it. I have watched the decline in kids fishing over the past couple of decades. glad that someone is getting kids back into the outdoors. I also LOL'd about the Bass Fisherman that complain about "everyone" else... LOL. Living on LOZ, not a lot pisses me off anymore... However the boat pulling the tuber that almost bounced the tuber off my boat did get my adrenalin going... I am pretty sure it was going to hurt him more than me!!! Joe

I have thought the same things many times... As soon as a mass market Aluminum Hull is available it would be over, or a UHMW covered hull maybe? Based on this years extremely low flows on the Niangua I haven't even gotten the jet out to fish it.
-
Just saw there was a head on collision on the Gasconade in a "narrow passage". one inboard jet and I believe one outboard jet. Thoughts go out to the Families.

100% Agree with this statement.

Went out with my BIL for a couple hours of Jug Fishing (caught small Channels), dropped him back off at the dock around 8pm and I went out Bass Fishing again and didn't do anything great. Caught a couple of Dinks fishing points with soft plastics. Definitely still off my game.... WharfRat, I had to tow one of your neighbors (Dock 5 about 1/2 way down) back to the dock tonight. They were in a Rendezvous Deck Boat broke down drifting around the middle of the lake by Old Kinderhook cove. Not sure how many people passed them but they were very thankful that we pulled them back. I am a firm believer in Karma... So Mental note to all Niangua arm fisherman, if you see the "Lil Red Xpress" broke down, please tow me home!!! LOL Joe

Well the slump appears to be over. My first fish of the day came out of less than 5' of water flipping docks and it weighed 5.02lbs. I only caught a couple more but man it felt good to feel a tug on the end of my line again! Gonna grab some lunch relax for a little bit, let the tourist pack up/head home, then I am going back out! I did catch 1 in 22' on a shaky head. Joe

Thanks Old Plug!

Wharfrat, Kinda funny I watched two boats pull up and start fishing the row of bouys in front of your dock (which have been known to produce Whites/Hybrids) they fished about 10 minutes and had 2 more boats pull in on top of them, never saw anyone set the hook... LOL sheep following the herd...

Been fishing this arm of the lake for over 30 years and I have never sucked this bad! Talking to an old high school buddy today and we were laughing about some of our past conversations about how easy it is to catch a Keeper on this end. Up until this week, I couldn't imagine going out two trips without putting at least a keeper in the boat. He is really giving me a hard time about two trips without a keeper, so I remind him that his moving to Texas is 1/2 the why the Girls here all mad at me (he lives near Lake Austin and I fished it over Easter this year)!!! Wrench, I think I will focus more on the shallow pattern... The only Wed. night tournament I ever one was fishing the exact same pattern, but I am talking the old Wed. night tournament that was out of AA, not the knew one out of PB2! Pretty much the same long timers fished it that fish the current one. I guess living in China and not really fishing for two years and then working 80 hours a week for a year has taken it's toll on my fishing... Dang, now I am gonna have to really focus!!! Joe

I guess the LOZ Bass got there feelings hurt over the winter when I spent so much time fishing in Florida and Texas. I have been out the past two evenings with very little to show for it. Last night I had a few bites and and Dink or two... Tonight I had a couple of bites but didn't catch ANY fish, not even a dink. I even went small and threw up near the seawalls trying to pick up a bank runner just so I could have a little fishy smell on and hands... I am fishing my "local area" which is the Big Niangua arm from Double A up to Ha Ha Tonka. This is where I live so it is typically drop the boat off the lift and start fishing. I can't remember EVER struggling this hard for more than a trip or maybe two but I could usually always pick up at least 1 keeper. I have tried every depth and every type of lure that I have confidence in... I even picked up some trick worms on Shakey heads tonight (first timer), and that is what I did the best on. In the words of Old Plug, I even hit my old tournament "Milk Run" of Docks and Brush that ALWAYS produced something. I am seriously frustrated at this point. Last 5 minutes of fishing... I was throwing a Black/Blue spinnerbait got a bite and broke off, get my line in and it was the Knot (that always ticks me off), picked up my other Rod with a new this year Diawa Bait caster made two casts and the Side cover goes flying off and into the water.... I fired up the boat and came to the house... I actually thought about idling back just because I could only imagine what was next... LOL Fished past two nights from 7pm to around 10pm. Types of water I fished - Chunk rock points, bluffs, Stair step bluffs, Coves with BIG rock and secondary points. Baits - Green Pumpkin Trick Worm, Biffle Bug, 10" Power Worm (June Bug and Blue Fleck), Watermelon Red Senko, Black/Blue 1/2oz Spinner Bait, DD22 CrankBait. Guess I will back up and regroup tomorrow and hit it again. Actually thinking about breaking out the Jet Boat and heading up a river to go after some Smallies but after my luck this week I am afraid I would get blanked on my home river that could almost cause suicidal thoughts.

Okay, there has to be more to that story! LOL!!!!

Jet Pump And Semi V Boat
Goggle-Eyed replied to LittleRedFisherman's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Not familiar with your boat but if it has a center keel that goes all the way back or close to the transom you might have to remove part of it. I have a 1652 Semi V that had a big center keel. Mine is removed up about 24"-30" in front of the transom. Otherwise, I have seen issues where the keel can funnel air, in my case it was in minor turns... My current boat will run as skinny as any flat bottom I have owned or been in. -
People Are Going To Get Hurt On Tablerock........
Goggle-Eyed replied to rogerdodger's topic in Table Rock Lake
Just watched a pair of jet skis using a row of no wake buoys like a slalom course here on the Niangua Arm of LOZ.... Seriously, drives me nuts and I am on the still quiet side of the lake. I can't imagine what Old Plug is witnessing with the couple of bars that have been added on his end... Luckily I really only have Ha Ha Tonka above me, much more than that and the idiots tear up there equipment!!! LOL, I have actually towed so many people back to the "bridge" I have lost track. Some have offered stupid amounts of money, others a cold beverage... I have passed on all and just said "help me if I am in need"!!!! -
LOL, Not trying to cross examine you... Sorry if it came across like that, sometimes typed words don't come out quite right... I was just trying to figure out if you knew of something else going on... Joe
-
So what is your concern about the clear water? I would understand the concern if it was Zebra Mussels, what is it that is concerning you? I haven't seen any of the large snails on this end of the lake either... Joe
-
I have been saying for years that LOZ water quality is better "now" than it was in the 70's.... People can complain about LOZ water quality but the reality is, it is getting better... we are bragging about 8' visibility.... really, water is clear!!!! BUT the same people griping about how dirty LOZ is, are the same people that will never be happy... having grown up on this lake from the early 70's until today I can tell you I preach how much better the water is now... I remember the septic tanks draining straight into the lake... NOT CLEAR FILTERED WATER, STRAIGHT UP dung FLOWING INTO THE LAKE.... I don't see that anymore....
-
I agree 100% unless you are in a NO WAKE cove that is protected from the main channel!!! Or way up one of the river arms where the idiots can't go! Joe
