Legit question. How many people do you think put in there and never pay the fee? Also, do you think anything ever happens to them? Same questions for Pa He Tsi. My guess is there are quite a few people that never pay and that there are very few repercussions. I really have no idea though. Also, that fee seems like way too much. Problem is, there are few public ramps on this lake. Especially for how big it is.

Fished all day Sunday. I caught 2. Only 1 keeper. The person I was with only caught 3 all day and all were small keepers. They were all caught in the first hour of daylight. Very tough day. The wind was killer. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but the past 2 weekends were both pretty terrible on Pomme for me.

SLOW!!! Super slow. Started early in the morning and fished until early afternoon. Caught 2 shorties on a square bill early in the morning in the back of a cove. That was it for our bites all day. We were fishing spooks, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, deep diving cranks, medium diving cranks, square bills, Texas rigged worms, jigs, you name it. We couldn't buy a bite. We were mostly on the Pomme arm. Fished the Lindley a little too. Water temp was around 72-73. We we saw a lot of other people running all over the lake. I'm assuming that they were having just as much trouble. Everyone we talked to seemed to have a similar story tough bite all weekend is the word I got. Anybody doing any better? Any established patterns working for anyone? What are you catching them on?

I really like to fish nymphs like gold ribbed hares ear and the like. I have found that putting a Ginny midge as a dropper works pretty well a lot of the time too.

I found more coral mushrooms than I could ever eat while turkey hunting this weekend. They were EVERYWHERE!

Don't mean to totally hijack this thread because I really enjoy reading about everybody's experiences. But I've never fished a chatterbait. How do you use one of those? Is it fished like a jig or like a spinnerbait or what?

As someone who isn't fishing this tournament and has never fished this tournament, I'd love to hear people's thoughts on these questions. 1. Personally, I would fish coves or main lake deep and shallow. Depends on where I seem to be catching more bigger fish. I'd probably try both depending on where I was at at the time. 2. I'd take my time casting to each place multiple times from all different angles. That is just how I usually fish. Probably comes from not having a boat for years and having to do the majority of my fishing from the bank. 3. I like fishing with a partner, but usually fish alone so neither would bother me. Conversation would be nice, as would having somebody to bounce ideas off of. 4. Multiple baits. I'd have all my rods (which isn't that many) rigged with something different. 5. It doesn't bother me too much to follow someone. Especially if they aren't catching too many. However, I'd probably try to find some water of my own. 6. As for the last two, I have no idea how I'd handle weigh ins. I also, do care what the weather is. I'd prefer miserable weather conditions if I am competing. It might make some other people less focused that don't handle miserable weather well.

Thank you all for your input. I think you have helped me decide to stick with what I know works for me and go with the traditional uninflatable PFDs. I know they work...every time. I know I am going to wear it when running down the lake. And, they are less expensive.

KaBOOM ! Your tax dollars at work ?

I heard it in Versailles this afternoon. Afterwards, when I was driving back home to the lake I heard on the radio (KRMS) a report from a guy at the lake that said he could hear a jet afterwards, but never saw anything. -
I am looking to get a new PFD for fishing. I am typically running Lake of the Ozarks by myself and it does get pretty rough out there. What are your thoughts on the inflatable PFDs vs the traditional non-inflatable. The inflatables are much more expensive. Typically, I wear mine when running down the lake (always) and take it off when fishing (usually). I'd love to hear all the pros and cons for both options. Do you like your inflatable? Hate it? The inflatable ones do deploy if you are thrown out and are unconscious right?

Sweet! That is right by me. Maybe I can catch some of those released fish later on. ?

Agreed.

I've been seeing lots of doves in the past week around corn fields.

I saw a guy crash his boat at the shoutout this morning on laketv. His boat was sinking fast and I have been looking for information about it all day and haven't been able to find anything about if he was ok or not. It happened just before noon today.

Been slow for me too. Bite is definitely tough. The weather report for this week is looking pretty good though. I'll probably be out there trying to get a pattern going if I can just catch a few fish.

I went yesterday and fished pretty much all day. I didn't manage to catch any walleyes. The small bass were on fire. I was catching small bass, both largemouth and smallmouth, all day. Lots of surface activity. I stayed focused though on trying to catch walleyes, I just never managed to hook into any. I'll have are to make the trip down there again sometime so that I might hook into a few of those tasty beasts.

I'm going to give the shallows a try this week and see what happens. I have caught a few, but they just seem hard to come by. Most of mine seem to be coming out of brush piles by docks on plastics. Jigs don't seem to be getting it done for me lately.
-
Wrench, do you fish around docks in the backs of those coves? Are you hitting that super shallow stuff way in the back?
-
I am thinking about making a day long trip to Stockton this week one day. I am super interested to catch a few walleyes. However, I have no idea what I am doing in regards to walleye fishing. I have caught a verrrry occasional walleye while bass or crappie fishing over the years, but I want to target walleyes on this trip. I have been reading all of the awesome advice on this forum all summer long, but I still could use some more advice, especially for this time of the year. Should I troll crawler rigs? Deep diving cranks? Cast jigs? What would you advise for a trip this week? I'd really like to get a few eyes in the livewell.

Man, the bite seems to be getting tougher. Catching a few on Texas rigged or shaky head worms (mostly shorts). Jigs don't seem to be doing much for me or anyone I've talked to. I've seen some guys throwing swim baits around shad but don't know if they caught anything. Brush Hogs and worms in brush piles around docks seem to be the trick right now, it is just a tough bite. Btw, most of my fishing has been in the evenings/early night.
-
Still catching lots of dinks. Stringers of quality fish still seem elusive. Catching on Texas rigged worms and shaky heads. Nothing on spinnerbaits, crank baits, or jigs.
-
Seems like I can catch dinks all day long. Been a bit harder to find any keepers. I'm suresomebody here is on a pattern that they can help a guy catch a decent sized fish.
-
Anybody catching any bass? What are you having luck with? I have found a few on worms out on points. Where are you finding the fish lately? Help a fella get on some fish.

Wow! She is ruined for life now. Way to play that mammoth fish. That takes patience and stamina.
