  1. I’m interested to see what garmin has in store. I’ve heard they are going to make their own trolling motor.
  2. True. Spotlights or headlights are a great idea I think. My grandpa’s old 70’s Ranger boat alway had a spotlight on it for night or fog.
  3. I agree. We should take a number from the kayak tournament guys and use photos or digital scoring in some way. I think it is time for us as tournament bass fishermen to evolve beyond the “bassmaster classic moment” to a more conservation-minded group of anglers...especially in the smaller and club tournaments.
  4. The ones in the middle of the lake by the grand glaize bridge absolutely need to be lit. I know a bunch of people that have had a lot of close calls with those.
  5. There are some dark spots on LOZ. I’ll tell you what though, I do wish that all the bouys were required to have lights on at night. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve nearly run into one of those in the middle of the dang lake.
  6. It it launching at PB2. The bass club hosting the tournament is called the “Camden County Bass’rs”. Also, I’m pretty sure PB2 is in Camden County.
  7. It isn’t really that difficult to stay in the middle at night. The tough part is when you are pulling up to a dark bank. Sometimes it gets pretty tough to tell how far away you are. It always makes me nervous pulling up to a dark bank at night. I usually stop way short and trolling motor the rest of the way in to avoid any potential problems.
  8. This has been my best tournament by far. Probably for the same reason it has been so bad for everyone else (I have no idea what I’m doing). Dumb luck, I guess.
  9. We had a great open tournament the first weekend in June if you joined us last time, we’d love to see you again! If you missed out last time, find yourself a partner and join us on this fun-filled night of fishing. Please like and share this post to help us get the word out. Invite your friends too!

  11. 😳😳😳 uh oh. I just heard that wheeler got disqualified for today because he got stuck and asked his marshall to get out of the boat.
  12. Skeet must have found something he liked before he got stuck and had to be towed. lol Swindle is wacking them. Surely he’ll find a bigger one at some point.
  13. No. They got 3rd.
  14. Yes!!! Evenings are good for me. I’m on full time daddy duty during the day right now.
  15. My custom clubs didn’t cost me any more than buying them off the rack. I just had to wait for them to come in after getting fitted.
  16. I fished this weekend with a guy who fishes the kayak tournaments regularly and he said that with the bigger circuits you are only allowed to have one hand on the gill plate and that is all. That guys fish didn’t even look right I understand they let him get away with it for a while to allow him enough rope to hang himself with. Wrench, when and if you ever decide to go fish a derby just holler and you’ve got a partner.
  17. The set of irons I just got is my first set custom fitted to me. Wow! What a difference that has made. My consistency is sooo much better. I have dropped quite a few strokes just with having the better, custom-fitted clubs.
  18. I’m on board with changing the scoring. I think the kayak guys have it figured out with the scoring app they use on their phones.
  19. I used to hit long irons to a 2 iron. I got new clubs a couple of years ago and went with a 2 hybrid and 3 hybrid. I hit the ball just like I would with an iron, but I find the hybrid a bit more forgiving. I am more consistent with the long hybrids. It is especially better when hitting out of the rough. I hit ping G25s and have been very happy with them.
  20. The bag issue makes sense. I’m pretty new to the tournament scene and didn’t think of that. What, if anything, could be done to speed up the line?
  21. Did they break the tie with big fish?
  22. Shrapnel, thanks for coming out. I should have checked to see if anyone on here was planning to fish the tournament and maybe we could have met face to face. How did you guys do? We finished with 16.86. It was a pretty tough night for us. We didn’t have a keeper until close to 3:00am. We ended up culling 2 or 3 times after sunrise. I heard really mixed reports of how people were catching them. We couldn’t seem to get bit on anything but a Texas-rigged worm. There were some decent sacks of fish. I’d love to know how people were catching them. A lot of people said they caught a bunch. Id love to see the club invest in some good weigh bags (I didn’t know know they were encouraging everyone to use their bags, I used my own.). There has also been some talk about upgrading and getting new scales. I expect that with the next club open there will be a pretty good chance for a polygraph just to keep everything on the up and up.
  23. I’d be totally ok with scoring by measurement. I could see it, or something like it, being the future of the sport. Problem is, there are still a lot of guys that want to have their “bassmaster classic” moment.
