  1. the temp should be near;y 60 by the time you head up. The A-Rig is not allowed on Stockton. Green pumpkin Salamanders dipped in chartreues C rigged and shallow cranks will do you just fine. If the water is muddier due to all this rain change to Purple.
  2. it was 56-58 main lake, I did pull some 60 in the back of coves in the morning before all the wind and rain

    Beds?

I did not see any beds but the water was a little rough. I did however see what appeared to be a lot of beds off one point, they seemed to be very close together for LM beds ? I am not sure if m aybe smallies build their beds close to each other. I had never seen anything like it. Sort oflooked like a bunch of potholes.
  4. Holy Crappie Fisherman - guess they had 3 tournys going on, there was boats everywhere down around Roark. In the am before the rain started it was almost every cast we caught one. I threw Green Pumpkin Salamander C rigged and partner had a Craw color Jig. During the rain the bite was a little tough and then later in the afternoon it really took off. Caught 15 crappies, 5 walleyes and more bass then I kept count. I would say 25 - 30 ??? The Salamander was they key bass bait until the sun came up and then I was using a blue/chrome crankbait shalow runner, I think it was a Norman ? Bass were inside pockets and the first third of points did not catch many all the way back. Walleyes were caught on Flickr Shad that new gold - clown color man it was catching the crappies too ! I could troll in about 25 foot of water between my lake points and almost always get bit. I cleaned some real nice slabs. Here comes the cool weather to mess with everything.

    Beds?

i will tell you on Monday ! i am heading up tonight, plan to try and get them dialed in !
  6. Do not think the cold will hurt the bite. EVEN if this bite slows down it will still be AWESOME ! They are biting bare hooks !
  7. Thanks for the info !! I am headng up this weekend for my 1st full weekend on the lake. Went out last Sunday and we had a ball on a 4" geen pump lizard. Caught 30 in about 1.5 hours
  8. Went up last sunday and ran the boat, checked electronics ran all the old line off , recycled and spooled up all the weapons ! I Had 2 screws put in my shoulder in december so it was first chance to rip the baitcasters. Might need to ease into it. Caught 2 shorts on jerkbait. Water temp was 38 but i am sure it is warmed up some this week. I'll post a full report monday . I have a feeling the walleyes might pull me away from the slow bas bite.
  9. I have a small box of what i call weird baits. Stuff i dont normally use that i can try when the bite is slow. 1 small box vs luggin around too much
  10. I try to keep it simple Anything rapala norman lil n and dd22 and the flickr shads. Jerkbaits megabass and spro only Now i have pounds of plastics
  11. Not a lot of reassuring feedback there fellas. I am starting fishing 2/14 if I have to do it with 1 arm. I seen a pro basser with no legs and 2 arm fishing, I should be able to di it recreationally. I can't see the Lake form the Camper I am at Southwinds but i cruised down to the boat ramps
  12. Thanks for the tips. I went up last Sunday and ran around the lake a bit before the wind went crazy. Most of the coves were iced over. I am not sure I had ever seen that much ice on Stockton? I am sure it is on its way out.
  13. Why don't you send me the GPS co ordinates and I will keep checking to see if he is there. I am here to help! Last year about this time I had a real Monster Walleye roll up over the line at the boat and swim away. They get bigger swimming away.
  14. After deer season I dislocated my shoulder and had to go under the knife. Looks like another week or so B4 I will be able to cast. I have not been off the water this long in many years! Let me know if you have any luck this weekend. I will be up at the camper looking on from shore.
  15. Yes, twin bridges to hawkers point. water was pretty clear. I spent a small amount of time down the big sac arm past chicken rock but there was boats on all my spots so I went back up to the main lake. Had the best luck in the early morning up in a cove by Price branch.
  16. I tried just dropping the jig at the boat but they would high tail it out of there they wanted it to keep tracking but it worked with the wart a few times. I was actually joking with my fishn partner when i did it the first time, then I actually got bit. I will definately do this more often.
  17. They were killing the jig on Saturday ! PBJ twin tail purple glitter trailer.
  18. Spent the entire day fishing Saturday. We had 2 boats out. 1 was jiggin for walleyes and crappies and I went bass fishing. Water temp was 68, thought is would drop a little more then that. Walleye/crappie boat - they caught a ton of fish but only about 6 keeper crappies and no keeper walleyes. Worm seemed better then the minnow. They fished the brush piles and steep banks and bottom bounced. Bass Fishing was on FIRE !!! I figured it would be spinner baits and crank baits but that was not the ticket. The PBJ jig just hammered them. It seemed they were just inside main lake points, not quite to secondary points. You needed to find a little drop off and some chunk rock. It also helped to have a little sparkle/glitter in the trailer. I aslo cuaght about 6 on the wiggle wart. I caught a few on a crankbait but I was even having more luck swimming the jig vs a crankbait. I guess they are hammering the crawdads and not after the shad? Had a hard time finding any real shad piles or bait balls. Most fish were 6 - 20 feet of water. If I did not count them you know we caught a bunch I am sure it was over 30 with no real biguns but plenty of nice 2.5 lbers. Had so MANY BIG fish following lures to the boat I actually started figure 8's at the boat like when you musky fish. Actually had 2 bite that way right at the boat. Great weather, Great Fishing,
  19. I was laughing my camper is long term parked at Southwinds by Roark and everytime i would drive by the entry to Roark West where the gate was closed I would see 3 - 5 standing there. I mean EVERY time. I would love to get one of the draws. No real bigs but some nice scrappy ones.
  20. Go fishing I been just driving around them

    Ramp

    you can get to it
  22. Fished Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Water temp was 69 on Sunday. Caught 6 on Saturday throwing PB&J jig and a Zara Spook. Kind of caught them all over, main points, secondary points and long gravel banks. Did not have any real luck in the back or near the back of any of the coves. Sunday they seemed pretty fussy managed 5 fish but it was work. Caught zero fish on crankbaits, Lipless and spinnerbait. I am glad I started jig fishing, I never used to fish a jig. I did see a nice spike buck swimming across the lake. He swam a good 1/2 mile. Be careful the deer are everywhere! I must of seen 50 deer this weeked on and around the lake. Did not do any walleye fishing but did catch one catfish on a jug.
  23. Comical, im going fishing. This budget was fine when the mormon ran for president on it. McCain for prez
  24. Simply pass the.budget the same budget romney ran on. All they need to do is to allow the same dam budget the republicans wanted. Im no obama fan but the parks could be open tomorrow just check your math. He has screwed up alot but the tea party nuts has closed the parks. Im a republican just not blind to the facts
  25. I was up to stockton last night and they had all the corp launches "sort of blocked" you could get around and get your boat launched but they had te drive partially blocked off
