My wife and I moved to the southern MO Ozarks from Milwaukee, WI in spring 2010. I absolutely love the wildlife and scenery in this region of the country. I created this thread so I could post some of my pics of this amazing landscape and all the wildlife i am lucky enough to see. Hope you like some of the photos... Banded Water Snake Or Something Else?
E Green replied to Mitch f's topic in General Angling Discussion
i would love to visit okefenokee swamp someday. i also want to visit a couple swamps in arkansas as well. Still, there are some treasures to be had here in southern MO. Mingo is amazing! Otter Slough and Duck Creek are also very cool and great places to see herps and other amazing wildlife. One of these days, I am going to pry myself from my local streams right by my house and do some fishing at these places as well (mingo, duck creek and otter slough). Everytime i visit these places though I can't seem to put my camera down...haha -

This was a BIG Timber Rattlersnake I came across on our trip to Arcadia Valley a few weeks ago. Amazing creature....biggest rattlesnake I have seen outside of Mingo Nat Wildlife Refuge... -

I Need To Purchase A Nice Set Of Waders And Have No Clue
E Green replied to E Green's topic in General Angling Discussion
I went with the Patagonia Guidewater Stockingfoot Waders. Wow....amazing product/company! Wade fishing is so much more enjoyable now which is saying something because I wasn't quite sure it could get much better. I find myself gliding across the creek with ease where before I was stumbling without grace...haha I'm not sure if I will catch more fish but atleast it looks like i should...haha I also got the Old Town Dirigo angler kayak (been out on 3 short test runs....still trying to get comfortable with that but I can already tell it will be loads of fun once i get everything worked out. That product certainly has many pros but there are a few cons i have noticed as well. It is pretty difficult to get it up and off of the car. 49 lbs didn't sound like that much when i ordered it but my bad lower back has since told me otherwise. Def need to come up with an easier way to load and unload this thing.... hoping to hit the 11 point for the first time this weekend. I live just east of elsinore MO and will probably just wade fish for this first trip. Any suggestions? -
thanks for the info on the bbq place. I will certainly hit it up next time I am that way. Looks like I might have to try my luck on lake G as well.

Stouts And Knob Creek In Ironton Help Needed
E Green replied to E Green's topic in General Angling Discussion
MSU-THANKS! Man that sounds perfect. I appreciate all the info. and yeah, thread title def read like aKY bourbon thread....haha -
wow those are amazing! I need to take a family trip to that place.

i am planning a family trip to Ironton in may during the Arcadia Valley Mountain Music Festival (may 17-19). Also planning on spending some time visiting elephant rocks and johnson shut in state parks and hopefully millstream gardens, taum sauk and ft. davidson. I won't have very much time to do any serious fishing but it looks like the cottage we might rent just a few miles outside of Ironton is right on stouts creek. The owner told me that you could fish on the creek but I just thought I would ask on here to see what info I can obtain as well. I will have my two little ones with me (1 and 3 yr old) so I will only be able to get out and fish about an hour in the early am before they wake up and maybe a little in the evening. any help or advice is very much appreciated! thanks
