I've had better luck with them on grass lakes in the cold water. Not had much success with them on TR.

Tail up or tail down? Does it matter?

I use Gamma edge floro 8#...Only problems I have is distance. Long casts don't matter as much were I came from...not real sure if the extra 10-15 feet matter as much on TR

Think I saw some rigs at hook line and sinker in Rogers. Don't know the cost

Pretty sure in Arkansas freezer fish are not counted toward possession limit.... Only applies when you're camping etc. Not sure MO laws

Being a biologist....I have to say that there a way more ol' timers tales (that have little to no scientific proof) that do work, than not. Strange thing is that many "wifes tales" work all over the world, some are regional. And yes Wayne there are exceptions to EVERY rule...well except for gravity. I had a farmer in NE TX tell me about cows laying down, fish dont bite and deer dont move. There is MUCH science to prove this theory based on Lunar cycles. But there are exceptions to this rule as well, see weather pattern now. Same farmer told me fish wont bite when its raining, the rain drops scare the fish....I think we all know this isnt true. I have seen soap outfish live bait for catfish in the Deltas of AR and MS, cant find any science to support why, but have witnessed it first hand. To me, this is why fishing is such a great sport....You get to go out and test your own theories, and compare them to what the magazines tell you and what the ol' timers tell you. One thing I will always remember.... The ol' timers were fishing to provide food for their family, most of us just fish for enjoyment. Seems they learned a few tricks out of necessity, not just for fun. If more of us youngsters would just sit down and shut up....those ol' timers would teach us a thing or two. EXPERIENCE is the greatest teacher.

Never caught one on cut bait til I fished Table Rock.....But other lakes I fished dont have near the flathead population as the rock

The majority of flatheads I've caught lately have been on cut bream....go figure, I always heard they only eat live bait?

Brother in law fished last week from the bank with raw shrimp soaked in garlic, he caught enough to keep him out for a few hours. He said his biggest was about 4lb, mostly 1 1/2-2lb tho. Caught all from bank at a condo in Kim City.

Had Jehovah Witnesses come by our house one afternoon while we were elbow deep in cleaning deer.... I guess the site of 3 grown men holding large knifes covered in blood was too much for them, they left and never came back.

"still get to take finals"..... Many districts allow kids to be exempt from these as a reward for good behavior, perfect attendance, etc. Getting to take the finals is not a reward. They will lose credit for any work they miss during the suspension as well. If the joke is on the administration their parents should pay a price as well for not having something for them to do besides take 2 days off school. I was suspended from school for senior skip day as well, it was not a vaction day for me, my folks were pissed. It seems as if they have done some good things with their "fame" hopefully the time spent for the suspension will be the mowing.

Thats awesome, glad they are doing some good. Knowing many high school administrators, they don't arbitrarily suspend kids.Thats why I suggested that there's more to the story. I'm not passing any judgement on school or the kids, I don't know any of them. There are many "good" kids every year that get suspended for doing something that they were forewarned not to do, or else they would be suspended. I can remember kids at a NE ARK school turning loose 3 goats in a school, nothing in handbook says you can't do that, but they still got suspended. Funniest part about that story.... the goats were painted and numbered....1.....2.....4 School employees spend HOURS looking for #3.... If you got the stones to pull the prank.....better have the marbles to take the punishment.

Far more tourneys fished at the big O during the spawn.... Don't seemed to have affected it much. The lake is at it's best in many years right now

Might be more exciting if they caught a 40# bag.....
