  1. Good for you Blake! Looked like an outstanding trip! Your dad's been posting fish porn on FB all weekend.
  2. River came up quite a bit last night, looked like chocolate milk. Spring is up and a little milky but fish able.
  3. Wait until you turn Japanese;)!
  4. Floated Moon Valley to HVO solo yesterday. 3' of visability, flowing fast, fishing slow. Only a dozen bass and a couple trout. Never did figure out a pattern. Oldest daughter caught a couple in front of camp this AM. Ned, HD Craw, and Pink Fluke best.
  5. Water at Bennet access looked fine. Think we will float tomorrow. Did not go into the park, but sure it is fine too.
  6. Hoff is floating an old beater Osagian or Grumman these days. Will have to check the calendar. At Bennett for the Troutbust now, opening pool next. Think the lads are headed to the Current this weekend since it's open above Round Spring now.
  7. Could do a Lane Trip again anytime CW & Ness. That was crazy fun! Hoff wants to do again.
  8. Always get a kick out of foolish anglers, especially the ones who think they need to immediately wade in waist high and stand where they should have been casting, LOL!
  9. We are looking for Senior Accountant if you know anyone who might be interested. 12 person firm in West St. Louis County. Duties would include the following -Some small audits, reviews. -Monthly & quarterly compilations, and some general bookkeeping.... -Monthly & quarterly payroll and sales tax preparation. -Business and individual income tax returns. Let me know
  10. That's awesome! Took my 7yr old daughter on her school fishing field trip yesterday. Went to the fish hatchery in Forest Park. She caught 12 bluegill in 40 minutes, and almost landed a 5-6lb bass that she induced into eating her hooked bluegill. She had a ball.
  11. Looking Good...Are you going to put in a false floor and a rod rack? Here is how those details look on an Ausable Boat...The compartment under the front seat is the fish box...usually used as a cooler/storage these days.
  12. Yes, the Current & Buffalo are under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service. They will ask you to leave, our ask you to leave and issue a ticket when the "Park" is closed. Most rivers are not subject to closure, but public access points can get closed off occasionally.
  13. Got a lecture for floating when closed once. That Red Headed Ranger who nobody liked. Bill Terry was head ranger then and he dismissed the tickets.
  14. Why give one thing and take another under the radar? Feds should pay to remove the nuclear waste they ordered to be created not MO.
  15. Thinking your OYO for river info through most of the Ozarks right now. Modot is good with any major road closure issues but they do not cover county roads.Could probably do some headwaters floats but log jams will be plentiful. Sometimes you luck out. Sometimes you have have a bunch of difficult runs and some portaging to do.

    What's Cooking?

Have never had "Good" with those vile green round orbs. Would rather eat canned or frozen Lima beans. Best use for frozen peas is to chill a black eye, or to cool your nut sack after a vasectomy. Our just toss them in the trash if found in freezer or fridge.

    What's Cooking?

Guess you could drill a hole and install an outlet. Its a rather expensive uni-tasker, IMO.
  18. Not many spots that are out of sight of someone's property or a private campground on the Black, and it gets crowded. Usually stay at Rivers Edge when we visit and we only go during the week. Not sure how the flood affected that area.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Your loss, welcome to the east side parties anytime. Always have a couple good ones stored for a special occassion. House table wine is OK for lots less. Could do a blind tasting on the river, bring a variety.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Upgrade that to some Chatueu Montellina and we will be over in a couple hour with bottle to match. Pick a good red for later. Have some Silver Oak and Du Mol stashed behind the furnace;).

    What's Cooking?

Turned out well. Recipe on Foodnetwork, but here is the simpler version. Rotisserie chicken from the store, skin debone, chop. 2 cans of artichoke hearts in water, drain. 1 big can of San Marzano or 28oz of other tomatoes mash up, head of garlic chopped, big bunch of basil chop. bag of croutons mashed, 8oz of fresh mozzarella, good parm, sauté arts till browned slightly, add garlic & spices for a minute or so, add tomatoes and a bit of water, reduce for 10 or so. Add chicken and heat up, top with cheese and bread crumbs. Bake or broil.

    What's Cooking?

Just getting back in the dinner rotation. Trying a new one tonight. Skillet chicken parm with artichokes. Adapted to a Pyrex after Sauté since the girls where busy with activities. Eat in 5-10, will share if worth doing again.
  24. The graphite coat works pretty well. Buddy of mine has it on the cedar strip canoe he built a couple years ago, and its holding up well.
  25. James Bridge is was on PP, Patrick Bridge is on H just below Sunburst...still there but some damage, Hammond Bridge was on CC, Blair Bridge still there off of KK, Warren Bridge is on Bryant Creek off CR 328. Heard McKee bridge was still there...Seems the two of the three low water spans that needed to go remain (McKee, Patrick, & Warren) and the newer high spans got washed away. Guess the trees & debris went over the top of the low bridges, and beat the heck out of the columns & decking on the high spans. Would be very careful if floating, trees and debris all over the place. Pack light...and bring a chainsaw...you might need it.
