A place in Baltimore had the best crab cakes, could not eat two. Bought 8oz each and wonderful. Obrickes for whole blue crab in that town.
  3. Guess we all need to travel north for awesome smallmouth fishing! MDC eats 1/8th of a cent out of most of my expenditures but they have no vision! The research is what it is but they have not asked good questions. Seems like the questions were focused on what is OK vs what is Awesome! Setting the bar low for some reason.
  4. I'd go with a slot statewide. A 15" smallmouth is nice but no big deal. 2llb bass? The survey did NOT ask the question about anglers opinions of a big smallmouth. Most said 15" was nice, did not say outstanding. Wish there where more 15". Nice to catch but no BFD. Harvest is focused at the top now and with a 1/15 we will have more of same same. Sick of the MDC's deregulate because it makes it easier for us initiative. They pawn it of as simplification but it's a meme and the need to be held accountable for it.
  5. No trout to speak of where you intend to go.
  6. Not happy with the 1/15 but the extentions are nice. Can understand including 8 to Scott's for winter habitat but it's a who cares in the summer. would like to see better regs well downstream of the present management SMA on the Meramec, better fishing downstream in the Summer months.
  7. Roaring River isn't far if Taney is up Crane is another possibility.
  8. Work to a beat is good way to look a it. No takers pick a different tune. Mono not flouro. Loop knot our install a small oval split ring.would do duke of earl in double time if you want it fast and splashy though. Pretty slow song.
  9. Good points Al. Walkers and buzzer are come and get me lures. Don't drop it on them and never put your line our leader over one. Gotta see the candy first.
  10. Those shorts are awful! Put them in the goodwill pile please! CWF lis the buzz bait champ. He got bigger than Al on a buzzer last time schedules aligned.
  11. Al brought up another thing. Sound of the rattle. Three options.silent, high pitch. low pitch. What is the concensus for top water baits?
  12. Another hundy to the fish dream thanks SB;)!
  13. Enjoyed your report. Looks like you are a Lucky man! Congrats on the nuptials! Get some trips in before kiddos! Figure 6 yrs close to home after the youngest one.
  14. You can do that on a fly rod up there!
  15. Easy to do in that spot. Mother Nature throws you a curve ball sometimes. Glad you had a good trip!
  16. I'm a tackle whore but it has made the difference. Size matters when your fishing a baitfish pattern. Amount of side to side or roll can make a difference as well. Probably have 30 walking baits in my smallmouth bag. Some cheap, some high dollar, some confidence, some new. Hardly ever lose one so the collection keeps, growing.
  17. Google up KVD's DAWGgone video on you tube for some good tips. he's working the bait tip up which is a good skill to learn in addition to tip down for short casts.look for the 3:24 version.
  18. Nice baits. You would be surprised at how effective a walking plug is at times. Any predatory fish will eat one so its worth taking the time to learn how to fish them.
  19. Nice! Looks kinda like the St. Croix but could be anywhere.
  20. The day before sticks in my memory more CW. O. Fork float with Mike to begin with. Started at B bridge. Met John at Lambeth bridge and dropped his canoe and gear of the bridge with a rope. Fishing sucked. Paddled for the take out and waited a couple hours while we killed a bottle of scotch. Dry Knob I think. Still no Mike or John so we took Mike's truck to pick up your ride, left his vehicle and a note and went someplace else.
  21. Looks like a great trip! Have not been down that way in a couple years. Seems that most of my float buddies are scared of bigger water and a jet boat sighting.
  22. Its been at least 10 years since we floated that section. No problems back then. Did have a note left on my vehicle on the Mill Creek bridge a couple times..Guess he thought I went in to fish for trout. Easy access at the Bridge in Newburg our Mill Dam, and good takeout at 44 or Jerome on the Gasconade. Jerome access is only a 3/4 of a mile down from the confluence and definetly public.
  23. Depends on when in the fall. Leaves in the water can be a PIA...bring some relatively weedless baits. Flukes, Jigs with weedguards, buzzbaits, spinners etc.

Your a picky twitch tonight Joe, but that's fine with me! Sub the T with a B if your into your 4-5th. Been a couple long days. 4-10 last two. Finally stuck tarpon on the fly before the fish dinner quest road trip, Wifey got her first snook and a couple more, plus some bonus fish on her first 10,000 islands trip. Wish I woulld have brought some home at 3.99. Getting on a plane in a few. Hope y'all have a fantastic weekend.
