  1. Good for you! Looks like a blast!
  2. I don't think they are going to be out in abundance in the Ozarks this year... Mostly in Illinois, and the KC area from the brood maps. Didn't see our hear any near Licking last weekend.
  3. Think I talked with you Coosa. Were you in a White truck with 4 Coosa's in the back?
  4. you are not fishing unless you take a dunk occasionally.
  5. Karma will get them! Not your worry!
  6. One boob? Geez they need too match or it is creepy kryptonite!
  7. Fix up the other boats and I am fine. Wifey's last favorite solo boat needs some new woodwork. Ash Inwhales are rotten on that boat and the seat pulled through last weekend. I like that one better, but she likes this one. Have a buddy with an awesome set of tools;)!
  8. Piney River Brewery is a good side trip. Went there yesterday after the Mom's got back. Just west of Dog's Bluff and south on ZZ. Worth a stop.
  9. 'Twas what it is all about. Wayne & Judy are nice folks. They don't put up with rowdy.
  10. Wife likes it. May need two;).
  11. My buddy Mike and me Camped at Boiling Springs on the Piney this weekend with our families. Floating was great. Another buddy joined us with his daughter for our float on Friday. 5 kiddos and 5 adults isn't the best recipe for fish catching but it was a ton of fun. My wife really loved paddling the Coosa, and the kids had fun taking turns on two little 6' sit on tops. Fished of and on, bit of rain, and one 7" Google eye. Floated a different reach on Saturday. 7 google eye, maybe 4 legal (8"). Mom's went out Sunday. 4 googleeye. No smallmouth on 16-18 miles of covered water. Guessing it was not on this weekend but still tons of fun. The campground was nice, low key not rowdy at all. Camping and shuttle prices very reasonable. Will be back. Hope the bass co-operate next time.
  12. Thanks a bunch SB. Will get you on the river soon.
  13. It has no effect on the smallmouth fishing IMO. Trout only thrive in water that is too cold to provide good bass fishing. The Akers to Pulltite stretch on the Current is a good example. They don't stock trout on that reach and there just aren't many game fish there. Great trout fishing up river, great bass fishing below there but they just don't want to be in that middle stretch.
  14. Think Dan K got a copy. Maybe he can scan and post for those who were not able to attend.
  15. I heard something completely different. The results were what they were and opinions are what they are, but I think they are going to make some changes. They were not specific about any possible changes, but they did lay down a timeline. Presentation to management, probably some public hearings regarding proposed changes if management approves, Possible reg changes for the start of the 2017 season at the earliest. Its a slow process...will see how it goes. It isn't all BS because you don't get something you want right now.
  16. I agree Joe. Fish will bite when they do. Messing around with stuff till they do is fun too. Never learned a darn thing when the fishing is easy.

    Drowning

Drowning is silent. Easy to miss something on a busy river. Very sad.
  18. Hope it's just spawn related. There find do grow back.
  19. Your right NoLuck it was Hidden Valley.
  20. It was good in Mid-MO on Friday. Water was slightly stained and a tad cold. I never managed to coax one to the surface, but shallow wide wobbling cranks did the trick. Most from spots were you could not see bottom (guessing 5-8' of water) with slow to moderate current. Steep banks with wood best...some fish right out in the middle near submerged rocks. Brought several nice fish to hand and lost a real toad.
  21. Water was fine. Maybe 2-3' of vis w/o my polarized on. Was kinda low on my float Friday but could see 3-4' easy. Bass was good, did not fish trout. Stayed at MVO. Nice to have a full RV hookup, but the sites are too close. Glad to have friends as your neighbors.
  22. It's never gonna be over. The pols from both parties want MDC's sales tax money. Not going to go away, but i don't get that worked up about it. Update your annual emails voicing your disapprovals and you done. Maybe 10 minutes 3-4 times a year.
  23. Still plenty of trout at Westover. Might be a few more in the Huzzah since Westover added the stretch below their low water bridge. No access at the bridge, Tom watches that like a hawk. Won't let paying guests park there.
  24. Possibly Tom Green? Local guy used to live on YY moved away to work for NPS, think he is back and stiil working for NPS.
