  1. Looking forward to it! See you Thursday.
  2. I'll be down at the bust on Thursday evening if you want to compare notes & float...Plan to float with my buddy Mike on Saturday thinking Moon Valley down, or CG down to Barclay to avoid access fee at NRO...6-7 miles each way. Maybe someplace else if we feel ambitious... Can get either of those floats done in 3 hours or all day depending on schedule. Think I'd bring your Pungo 14, or bring both of your boats and a friend. Pretty flat, easy, water for the most part. If your schedule differs...we can probably arrange for someone to spot your vehicle at the takeout. See you Thursday.
  3. Nice write up and thank you! I've never done the stock trip...but get in on a shock trip if you get the chance. Still a ton off work.
  4. They are two entirely different baits... I have a few of each, but I have more confidence in a couple other baits.
  5. Any recommendations on a place for trailer tires in the St. Louis area? Pulled my travel trailer out of storage today...had a blow out...gonna buy 5 new. 185 80r13's...Tire brand recommendations appreciated.
  6. Good for you guys! Looks like a grand trip.
  7. Nothing a few more dried up tiny greys out today,,,kinda windy and the soil still looks dry...Tomorrow's T-storms might get it going..
  8. Nice find...saw a couple small greys up in STL...Need some rain.
  9. Sulphur shelf is pretty bland on its own. Good texture and abundant. One good find can produce 10 lbs or more. Same with hen of the woods.
  10. Looked today. Nothing yet in my two early spots, and no stumps either.
  11. Foliage is just emerging...Should be picking soon.
  12. Go talk to Hargrove
  13. Good for you Andy!
  14. Wont be long before your are picking Morels.
  15. I'd like a jet, a drifter, a toon, a sit on top kayak, solo canoe, white river jon, and a tandem canoe to do what you want to do. I own two of the aforementioned. A solo canoe, and a tandem canoe. Works fine, but I want one of the others occasionally. Want a bass boat, and Mississippi rig too!
  16. 2012 was way early
  17. Have not been by to say hi in awhile Gene. Will have to put that on the calendar this year. After April 15th.
  18. Dandelions in bloom is a good indicator. None here yet. Kc is usually a week behind STL. Leonard is usually picking a week before STL.
  19. Still too cold...think it's going to be a late season this year

Very nice Paul! Gotta love the Ziggy.
  21. My selection is very similar..Walkers, buzzers, flukes, some stuff to drag and hop on the bottom if need be. The only two not mentioned..The Norman Top Dollar...It walks and does some other weird things..Works when other walkers wont occasionally. The other is a shallow suspending jerkbait...LC Flashminnow 110...It works when they are short striking flukes. Fish it in a similar manner.
  22. One of my favorites...sometimes it takes me several days...Glad you had a good time.
  23. Ness is correct...DNR got it last Fall and it is being developed as a State Park. STL PD story below. http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/missouri-buys-camp-zoe-former-home-of-schwagstock-festivals-at/article_66d9ad74-0ad1-55d6-81c4-095d859acb3e.html
  24. It is pretty easy to assemble and wrap a rod. Mudhole and Angler's Workshop carry everything you need. I've shortened a few blanks before...but you never know how you can modify it until you get the blank in hand to examine the taper. All my spin rods are 6' and Medium Light, or Medium for what ever it is worth...I use the Medum Light for jerkbaits mostly...The medium is for jigs.
  25. It is just a couple inches above summer low. If you are headed to Pulltite call Current River Canoe. That is 45 or an hour long shuttle, one way. Won't be cheap.
