I'll be down at the bust on Thursday evening if you want to compare notes & float...Plan to float with my buddy Mike on Saturday thinking Moon Valley down, or CG down to Barclay to avoid access fee at NRO...6-7 miles each way. Maybe someplace else if we feel ambitious... Can get either of those floats done in 3 hours or all day depending on schedule. Think I'd bring your Pungo 14, or bring both of your boats and a friend. Pretty flat, easy, water for the most part. If your schedule differs...we can probably arrange for someone to spot your vehicle at the takeout. See you Thursday.
Any recommendations on a place for trailer tires in the St. Louis area? Pulled my travel trailer out of storage today...had a blow out...gonna buy 5 new. 185 80r13's...Tire brand recommendations appreciated.
I'd like a jet, a drifter, a toon, a sit on top kayak, solo canoe, white river jon, and a tandem canoe to do what you want to do. I own two of the aforementioned. A solo canoe, and a tandem canoe. Works fine, but I want one of the others occasionally. Want a bass boat, and Mississippi rig too!
My selection is very similar..Walkers, buzzers, flukes, some stuff to drag and hop on the bottom if need be. The only two not mentioned..The Norman Top Dollar...It walks and does some other weird things..Works when other walkers wont occasionally. The other is a shallow suspending jerkbait...LC Flashminnow 110...It works when they are short striking flukes. Fish it in a similar manner.
Ness is correct...DNR got it last Fall and it is being developed as a State Park. STL PD story below.

It is pretty easy to assemble and wrap a rod. Mudhole and Angler's Workshop carry everything you need. I've shortened a few blanks before...but you never know how you can modify it until you get the blank in hand to examine the taper. All my spin rods are 6' and Medium Light, or Medium for what ever it is worth...I use the Medum Light for jerkbaits mostly...The medium is for jigs.
It is just a couple inches above summer low. If you are headed to Pulltite call Current River Canoe. That is 45 or an hour long shuttle, one way. Won't be cheap.
