    Humbled

Ouch! Sorry if someone didn't step up for you. I have had lures given to me even during tournaments. One guy is mailing me a jig to try and I had a chance to try some prototypes not even on the marke a couple of years ago. I have had guys offer their boat, knowledge and even assistance with trailer wiring. If it is a visitor with family coming to our area, I have PMed them with locations, baits and the techniques that worked for me. Heck Mike of SnM gave me a lure and posted some of my favorite spots for a local before. The OAF brotherhood is strong. Table Rock will treat me nice one day and spank me the next. Hang in there!
  2. How do we get one of those advisories for Table Rock? In particular at Aunt's Creek?
  3. Those are desk top material.
  4. Sigma always made nice lenses. I have a couple collecting dust with my 35mm. I wonder if I can make them work with my digital Pentax? Nice close up!
  5. Nice phot with great depth.
  6. Maybe for some folk. You don't really make a lot of money on tournaments around here. With the cost of gas, boat, entry fee and other stuff it is a losing money game even for the winners. Even the big guys in Bass (Skeeter) slept in vans and packed lunches for a long time. The Mrs and I fish tournaments for fun and have never done better than third. It is just a different thing for us to do together I guess. It is all about the friends we have and the fun for us. I don't know why that guy cheated but it gives all tournament people a bad name.
  7. I agree with Chris. It will work fine if you stay where it fits. Some guys fish out of canoes. I would go to places like Mill Creek or Cape Fair and fish close. Im going to hate myself for saying this but............Aunts Creek would be a perfect place for your boat.
  8. Gosh you write with great description that makes me feel like I was there.....looking forward to more.
  9. A trick that sometimes works for me is....I buy two of the same rods at the same time. That way when my Mrs sees one she thinks I just bought one not two. Welcome to the family!
  10. Love Cape Fair. Already seen some of your posts and thanks for joining. Finally getting to be more females on the forum. My Mrs isnt on here yet but she generally outfishes me. Of course I guided her to the spot and told her where to cast....
  11. Welcome to the family! Had the same experience as you with tourney fishing. I loved it but why pay an entry fee for something when I can do the same thing anyway? I still do like fishing tournies though/.
  12. That plain old sucks.
  13. Galena would be quite a drive but there is a good spot down there. I think others call it Bunk Hole or something like that. Awesome place to go . If you are interested we can get you directions and maybe some other guys can chip in on their opinion of it.
  14. I have always liked the looks of those boats too. Thought about buying one years ago. Will be a zoo on the lake this weekend , be careful!
  15. Nice fish
  16. No fish in Aunt's Creek! JUst kidding! I would never go to Aunts without a jig and twin tailed trailer on. Might be a good time to try that C-rigged fish doctor. I wouldn't drive past point 10 if I was you and fish up the whole bank from there. You will know it when you see it.
  17. Why you gotta make me weep?
  18. Seems like a few give the rest a bad name sometimes. Bad deal safety wise and reputation wise.
  19. Been in Alaska the last ten days. No hurries and no worries. Almost time for a lesson though!
  20. They use them in Minnesota a lot. the sinker is sometimes different, but use the floats to keep the bait off the bottom a bit more. Mostly used for trolling there. If you are sitting still then they like the Fireball jigs tipped with a minnow. Here is another version of it http://walleyeguyblog.com/lindy-rig-not-rocket-science. there are a few different versions.
  21. looks like a Lindy rig
