  1. That is great news Sounds like fishing is good down by the dam!
  2. Its good fun. We are quite the family here! We will be out all next week from Aunt's to Cape Fair in a red/white Skeeter with a faded orange OAF sticker on the motor. I will be the guy laughing on the front of the boat! My partner is a long time friend coming down from Minnesota. He will be stuck on the bottom, in a tree, wrapped around the trolling motor or stuck in the back of my shirt laughing just as hard.
  3. All signs seem to point to it!
  4. Ummm I was with RPS the whole time! I now nothing! literally.
  5. Always goes like that in Aunt's. Way better at Viola.
  6. That was some serious advice!
  7. I just saw you guys are the outdoors radio show in KC. Eric Prey might be another person to PM. Here to cover the tourney or vacation?
  8. Viola isn't a bad area to fish and many of them watch the forum and even post and ask for advice. Advice will be thin for that week. Viola isn't a bad spot even for the tourney. You might want to drop Don House a PM....he might throw some ideas your way and might not with the tournament going on. It would be worth it if you are here all week to book one of the guides the first day to insure your success for the rest of the week. I know it is a chunk of change for a guide but worth it after all of the other money invested in a fishing trip. As a matter of fact.....I have a friend coming down from Minnesota that week and I took off work to fish all week myself. We are going out with Babler one of those days to insure his success! Shell Knob has all of the species of bass and is a good area too. If you are focusing on smallmouth then you might want to head more toward the dam area.
  9. Going to be lots of boats on the lake with the big tourney. Don't have much in the way of helpful advice except pack some patience!
  10. Bill, Bill, Bill...there aint no fish around Aunt's Creek!
  11. Point ten is a good one with the top water starting. Kind of surprised you didn't get a bite there or around the corner from there. Maybe the island up lake from there?
  12. If it is an emergency then an affirmable defense to break the law. As an example........lets say two guys are out hunting and one guy does not drink but the other tends to partake. If the non-drinker was to become injured (in the court case was shot) so that he needed emergency medical help it would be an affirmable defense for the person who had been drinking to drive drunk as he was taking his friend to the hospital. He could be arrested for DWI (and was) but the court case would be dismissed as he was serving a greater good. With that in mind......they could have offered you enough free gas to get back to the ramp and not sold it to you. They could have offered you a ride to your truck and trailer and let you take the boat out. I wasn't there BUT it seems like there were a lot of other options than just saying no.
  13. Not an expert, but highly recommend replacement of both.
  14. Do you guys know starting and ending times? Entry fee? Two man?
  15. I would like to know more about this one Jason. It would work perfect for me!
  16. Sorry I missed your post. Many of us buy a tag (good for a year) to hang from your mirror and put in at the COE ramps. I think the tag is $30.00 but haven't updated mine yet this year. Mill Creek is a good spot and they updated it recently. Just drive across the bridge and take a right ob RB road. It is at the end. Aunt's Creek is back before Kimberling City and another COE ramp. I think you turn on OO by the Shell station. It is my favorite as you could actually put six boats in at a time if the right guys were backing up the boats. There are two seperate ramps there. Those are the main two COE ramps in the area you are talking about.
  17. Caught one of my biggest on a texas rigged worm last summer near Mill Creek.
  18. A map with little Xs might help?
  19. Have to add a huge apology....I was in a hurry and thought I was private messaging him. Hit reply instead of send message. I try not to publically post spots.
  20. I tried those paca chunks two years ago and had good luck with them. I still like the Chompers and Yamamoto twin tails the best.
  21. Cows creek. Right side as you enter, way in back finger to the left and sand bank to the right, dock by Cows old ramp, ....transition banks galore!
  22. Bill.....either you lost a lot more weight or the fish are getting bigger this year! Nice catch and congrats on another fine placing in the tournies.
  23. True dat!
