  1. Sounds like the old Willow sticks which were great for crappie. Do they use an extra week back bone (not sure of real name) or thinner one? What would be the added benefit for bass fishing? I do like a fast tip as it seems more forgiving on my poor fishing skills, but not sure about a rod that bends all the way to the handle.
  2. Wow! Great news.....I feel a sick day coming on. Dr. prescribed lots of water and a visit to the Aunt!
  3. Welcome to Aunt's Creek. You already have great information from way better fisherman than I so I will just wish you good luck. If you look at some earlier posts there should be some serious hints to a couple of good kentucky spots. If you see a tall pot bellied gray haired dude with a hot littlw wife in a white/red Skeeter being pushed with a 90 horse Yamaha....wave your hat and we will come say hello. Not to highjack the thread.....but maybe instead of a OAF sticker or ribbon(someone mentioned pink last year) maybe we should have a special wave so we recognize each other. I guess we are all in Aunt's Creek anyway!

    Big Girl

    Sweeeeeeet!
  5. 1. Red Fin, Zara Spook 2. McStick, LC Bev Shad 3. Eakins, Chompers
  6. Thank you.
  7. Ummm where are his oles? LOL He works in the same area I do, but sort of different! Good man, but a bit tight lipped about fishing holes.

  8. Hey would you be willing to share the color of he Bevy Shad?
  9. Something kind of weird and contagious going around....
  10. I think it is supposed to rain the rest of the week with most of the temps staying around normal. I hope it helps turn the lake on!
  11. I have a friend (Scotty Rice) that ties his own and uses wire. His jigs last forever. I wish I could get some more! I use the Eakins jigs and they have a rubber skirt keeper. Some of the keepers have a place to put a little rattle in them. I have never had any trouble with the skirts coming off. I drag them over rocks into crevices and everywhere. Never had a skirt problem on jigs. Spinner baits are another matter.
  12. My brother!
  13. Meet you there!
  14. Posting what didn't work (my usual post) narows down water too. If you tell me that you tried something that didn't work, then I have no need to waste my time with it! Unless of course it was a jig.....I will always waste my time with that, but I will try a different type of location than you did!

    Saturday

Nice fish. You look very very tall!
  16. Thats sort of one of the points I was trying to make! From now on can I call you and you post what I mean? I sure hope smallmouthjoedoes well in any case. Nice weather and should be fun. My fishing day was vetoed by the slavemaster (better known as the hot little Mrs techo). Off to paint!
  17. Sorry if I was "bashing" you Mike. Respect is important to me and if I offended you in any way, I will delete the posts or ask Phil to.
  18. I was half kidding and running with the Aunt's Creek humor. I put in there a lot because it is in the middle of the area I like to fish. I don't really fish it that much. I was also half serious. I know Mike a bit and I know he would help out anyone anyway he could. As a matter of fact he and I run the two smallest motors in AIA. He gave us some information before the tournament. We sort of stuck to our game plan, but his information was spot on and I think he finished one spot out of the money. Good for us little guys that only fish two or three days a week. On the other hand.....I have private messaged a person or two with exact spots, but NEVER would post a map with detailed spots. The reason is the power of the forum. As an example....last year Buzzards Cove was hot for a while. Someone posted there were white bass there and I could almost walk across the boats in that cove! We were killing them in Jackson Hollow for a while last year and someone went and posted the name of the place we were catching fish and whallah! Fished a tournament and could not get on one of our spots. Want more......Babler posted that LC Bev Shad were a secret on Table Rock. Guess what Bass Pro was sold out of two days later. I already had some, but thought I would check colors. So.....when smallmouthjoe heads out to those spots.....half a chance he will have the honor of sharing them with a bunch of people. I love the forum and all of the information we share really narrows down the water. If I say I caught them on main lake points that had transition banks with trees nearby in eighteen feet of water on a stick bait that you had to work real slow and make sure the wind is blowing toward it......would that help? I didn't give you a specific location, but how many spots are there like that. Chances are you will find one of many spots real similar. So anyways.....didn't mean any offense to Mike, but wish he would have PMed specific locations for the benefit of any who use those spots and smallmouthjoe.
  19. I guess Bll has higher standards than me and he tends to use the word WE frequently. We spoke to another boat and they had one "bite" when we talked to them in the afternoon. So I would say the ten fish "we" caught was a spectacular day! I do have to say out of the two of us I was the stinker. Not a skunk, but about four inches from it. Seriously....what a spectacular wonderful day on the lake. Life has been a bit rushed for me lately and a day on God's great creation (I guess with a little help of a dam) with a good friend who happens to be a great fisherman was exactly what was needed to put the Earth back into perspective. I have said it before I will say it again. Babler is a great guide. He has top notch fishing equipment and a good clean boat. He is easy on the rookies and hardly even grimaced when I broke his stickbait!
  20. You have got to be kidding me! At least PM!
  21. With the south winds that are supposed to be coming with the warmer temps.... I for one hope tomorrow is your best day of fishing ever! Good luck!
  22. That was just plain mean! Everyone knows there ain't no fish on those trees!
  23. Where did you sink the body? Should be some good fishing!
  24. I am not sure what kind of dog that is on the left....but scares me a little.
  25. It is great to see fishing reports starting to come in again. We can only beat the rod, reel and line questions to death for so long! Sounds like a successful day to me!
