  1. One shot- I 100% agree with you. Small cable dredge operations ever few miles. Those days are gone.
  2. The only constant I've seen over the years is when someone spends thousands , even tens of thousands on building Boulder walls along the river. After they do that the river on that stretch stays deep and unchanged great wintering holes too. It is quite bothersome to see all the farm fields growing all the way to the edge with 12' dirt banks collapsing on a regular basis but what farmer could afford to Boulder a mile of river?
  3. I'm shocked you didn't catch whites or walleye. Was u way up ? Nonetheless awesome trip. Jealous.
  4. Stclair area is still a little dirty with levels about a foot high from summer flow
  5. Today Mitch's craw out fished every thing that 4 of us threw except that the big fish was on a spinnerbait.
  6. Green pumkin 4" chomper spider grub if I only had to pick one lure for the hole day.
  7. Green pumkin 4" chomper spider grub if I only had to pick one lure for the hole day.
  8. I usually am walleye fishing in the darker conditions but when I take someone out fishing I don't pay much attention to time of day other than what's convenient
  9. I fish mornings and any rainy day. Usually I go out with wife and kids during middle of day and if there is a lot of boat traffic I will fish the riffles with a fluke as the boats stir up the baitfish and make top water really good.
  10. The river is rising down here and getting dirty so maybe everyone will play it safe and fish close to weigh in spot where it's clean. Local rain is hosing up the river fast here.
  11. I was actually gonna fish it but I'm gonna pass on that situation.
  12. bass tournament on meramec tomorrow. Not sure if I heard this right. The bass all get weighed in at steelville and released there. No matter where you caught them on the meramec. Not sure I'm liking all that. Enlighten me someone The last thing I want to do is catch the biggest fish I can and drive a hour or so to steelville and give em to all them dudes.
  13. I know I could eat a limit most days I fish the meramec Some would be Giants too
  14. I fished the weir above you. Ridiculous whites and hybrids. On way out the banks were lined below dam with people.
  15. I think I see jealousy here. I'm kinda jealous of guides myself even though I often fish 3 to 5 days a week.
  16. Seth, the better fish I caught were in fast deep water. Kinda strange for May. They were not on beds.
  17. Thanks. If I lived closer I'd prolly go but it's Too far on a whim
  18. I'm just hoping we have enough to trigger some extra top water action. The broods are not as predictable as the maps show
  19. Still nothing?
  20. 17 year cicada this year. Black anything top water
  21. Water 71 degrees. 2 walleye. 14 whites couple hybrids. Eggs in Females. I've never seen em spawn so warm of water
  22. Catching a lot of small walleye around the middle meramec so headed to the stlouis end in morn to find some bigguns. Anyone been?
  23. River was very busy today. Not a lot of fisherman though. I caught some of the biggest goggle eye I've caught in years. All on the Mitch craw. Some smallies too
  24. Yup. Truman lake 200 yards from the dam
  25. The wier is fixing to go hot for all those species. When you start to see 30 boats right at dam it's hot Shad fry get piled up there and I use tiny spoons and murder the crappie and whites.
