  1. When I've hog hunted with them I see what they are actually bred to do Unfortunately most people who own them don't get it Eventually they are gonna grab a ( full in the blank) and tear it to shreds Therefore I don't like or trust them I don't care for em. Another vote for put em down
  2. Dogs are dogs. Poodles can freak and bite you. Here lies the problem. When a pit freaks it's gonna be bad ! Free range pits don't last in the country I have raised catahoula's for years and never a problem until one freaked out. It didn't see the sunset on that day. No questions asked

    Tagged Out!

A lot of 1" plus spurs getting whacked. A lot of 3 plus year olds. Harder to hunt but more rewarding. I killed this morn and made it back to house in time to get kids to school.
  4. I have eaten too many. I'm done. Ash trees!! I bounce from ash to ash til my Walmart bag is full.
  5. I have fished up there and quite honestly if I wanted nothing but to catch bass I would pick from Stanton to robertsville Anything in that stretch has all the bass a guy would want
  6. I would say its perfect on the meramec from robertsville up to whereever
  7. Fry in butter instead of oil. Oh my goodness!
  8. It looks like some gravel has moved! Be careful first trip out.
  9. She came up fast and back down fast. We needed this flood for channel flush. Maybe walleye will swim up
  10. I was kinda talking about all the species that wound make a spawn run.
  11. Are they still down in the Missouri River ? Are they stacking up somewhere ?? That's where I wanna go
  12. I haven't fished a tube or soft plastic in 4 or five years. I'm just burned out on them. I usually have 3 poles tied up with cranks. If I see a lot of top water or minnows hoppin I will throw a Slugo that matches those blue colored shiners straight gold Aberdeen hook run all the way down till it sticks out its tip of tail then pull it over the string Jumps and hops just like a minnow jumping and skipping away from a bass. I caught a 4.2 lb smallie on a awesome flat last year with it
  13. Upstream from it. I never actually fish within a mile of the bridge. 52 degree water today. Took the family out for a after church run and my brother showed up with his crew and we talked while he was taking a couple casts and was killing em I ran up couple miles and it was the same thing. They were killing crankbaits. Big bass. No walleye or whites though
  14. Dang the crankbait bite is on. My brother caught a 20" plus. Between us several 16" and over and a nice spotted bass.
  15. I always soak mine overnight then dump the water by my big ash trees (not a cuss word) they have popped up there hit and miss but never a bumper crop. Ash trees are by far my go to when in a new spot but on some rivers I find em randomly poking up everywhere. Man I like to eat em.
  16. Okay so if I posted something and it disappears does that mean it made someone mad? Cause I ain't typing all that in again
  17. I agree. Gotta be careful.
  18. I was totally kidding about running creeks although I do have a childlike mentality when it comes to creeks. I like to look hard at them and wonder how far I could go before tearing everything up. I'm sure SB picked up on the fact that even though we ran 15 miles of river and passed up a lot of sweet spots I only stopped in wintering holes where there was either undercut bluffs where fish could hide or places where I know there is no private ramps My favorite holes were mostly shallowed in from last years floods and easily gigged out. Stinks but we have been lucky for several years. I'm sure that's why the fishing has been really good.
  19. I'm ready already. I am still thinking about your tackle! You and Mitch have taken smallmouth fishing to the next level no doubt. I know that no boat compares to a river pro. It leaves hardly a wake. I showed that it can stop on a dime Take off and completely turn around in less than a foot of water. It's a river fishermans dream boat. If I was rich and didn't care about tearing boat up I would change a few creeks to navigable by boat status. Yeah it's really that and a whole lot more. Kevin Turner told me 3 inch of water before I bought one. I have ran across less than that every time out on water. Safest most efficient, definitely the most Eco friendly SB you know I'm pure redneck but thanks for the compliments. I was surprised you didn't mention the local crappie guy complaining about giggers sticking the slob crappie he'd been catching
  20. So me and smallie bigs hit the river today. Despite a 1 1/2 foot rise a little debri and a drop in water temp from the obvious snow melt we did catch some smallies. Keepers but nothing to write home about They were stuffed like peppers. Guess they fed up yesterday with the rise. Nonetheless fun to fish with a new friend and see some new stuff.
  21. True that. Okay. I would say from red horse down almost trouble free. Below thirty bridge 2 miles is a boulder water fall that will make you pucker though. Oh yeah let's not forget the fish trap below robertsville ramp I love the meramec. I wish it could be more. It has clean beautiful water source. I just hate bringing this into the fray but if anyone passes through stclair please stop at dons bait shop and sign the petition to stop the monster gravel plant wanting to continue the dredging and new mining sight that will create a 100 acre lake upstream from 30 bridge. If they dredge you can forget about visibility for 15 miles downstream used to be that everyone could take a little gravel off your land and no big deal. Now it's like only this big shot company can get gravel and when they do it looks like nuclear holocaust. Just saying. If u pass through sign it. Planning and zoning decide on it next week I think. If anyone is wanting website to voice your opinion I can post it. They didn't dam up this river but they let it get raped.
  22. I'm a fan of the etec for sure. My last boat was a 17 56. It floated shallower than any other I've owned until the river pro came into my life. The problem is always the fact that you need speed to get through the shallows so if there is an impact it's painful. The river pro solves that problem. I've got 36 hours on mine and haven't hit anything yet. I ran from 44 bridge to goodes mill on the bourbeuse. That my friends is a nasty stretch of river. I think the meramec from the caverns down you don't have to worry about much. Seth your legend boat is what a lot of people run down here. My brother sold his 2 years ago. It had a 225 etec on it. Never a shallow water issue with it except for fishing through riffles. We almost never fish through riffles. We start below in the hole and troll up into the fish Big tough trolling motor is paramount with this fishing method. I hate losing crainkbaits.
