I second that Meat eaters will be catching bass off their beds for the frying pan. Maybe it'll be high water enough so spawn isn't screwed up but it screws up the fishing

I used to eat smallmouth when I was a kid They reminded me of drum. Just okay. I would rather eat something else. Like ..... Crappie or wipers or flatheads. I guess I'm picky.

Could a jet boat get up that river Seth? If so would it be worth the drive for me? My buddy goes there every year in a pontoon boat. He has bugged me to go every year but it's so far a drive

I have to personally thank Seth for his info that he gave last year that led to a awesome trip for me But I didn't go back over and over and hammer the spot nor did I tell details about the spot to anyone. I made the mistake of showing a guy a 25" walleye on the meramec a couple years ago and it sent him into a frenzy of questions. I quickly hid my poles with lures dangling from them. I have put way to much info on the inter web myself It sure feels good to help other people out It is equally cool to get help in far off places before u drive hours to fish Surely a bunch of knuckleheads won't make a mass exodus to meramec springs

We tried the jig head minnow method and our minnows ranged from 3" to 5" stone rollers. I have yet to figure it out. Water was 39 degrees! Running no water though. I guess it's a good spot if your a local. The best time I ever had there was when a really cool man came up beside my boat and tossed a couple lures in my boat and said ( try this ). I caught my first big hybrid that day

I went this morning no walleye. Nice hybrids below bridge. Jerk baits. I spent too much time trying to catch walleye. I suck at it down there

I've been killing like crazy!! I'm on the edge of burnout though. Let's do some winter smallie fishing ? It's the only time I really make a effort to fish for them. Giants bite then the best. Merry Christmas to you and yours and all else reading this. God Bless you bunch of maniacs!
