  1. I see your point but only to a point. My boat is an 02 so it's not in the new boat price discussion. If it were in my family's budget to own a new boat I would thought but again that only to a point. I know I'm sounding vague. I'll try to make sense. I'm a machinist that drives 60 miles a day and park in a gravel parking lot at work or a gravel driveway at home. I drive a $2500 car. I've had nice cars but really all I do is fret over it smelling like a machine shop or trying to keep it clean inside and out etc. Plus putting miles on it too. A cheapo car that's reliable is all I need. My wife's trailblazer pulls my boat pretty darn good so it's the tow rig. Now would I feel right about buying a new boat knowing the trailblazer is getting long in the tooth? Nah not really. But if I had a newer lower miles truck or suv and could afford both I sure would. It wouldn't bother me to tow a $30k plus rig with a $15k truck. I'm sure lots of people think I'm stupid for driving a $2500 car to work while owning a $12-15000 bassboat too. Maybe I am. Maybe my priorities are a little lopsided but the time I get to trap my boys in that boat with me makes it worth it. I'm not saying you or anyone here thinks that way, I was just saying. It just depends on budget and what your uses of the vehicles are. Like I said my old car just has to go from here to there. That's just my situation though. Now if I worked closer to home I'd sell the old car and buy a couple 12' talons for the boat and sell the 8 footer. Now that's getting priorities jacked up lol.

    Ok. Pm inbound
  3. I hope you have a ball. I pray for a safe trip and time on the water for you.
  4. That sounds fun and all but I got to work yesterday. Who needs an awesome wart bite when you can cut metal for someone else right?
  5. It was absolutely a joke. For crying out loud chill and pay attention to what others post on occasion.
  6. Whaaaaaaa....? You can't catch good fish in dirty water on table rock!

    Grand Lake Trip

I'll send you a pm today
  11. No doubt. They're gonna grow there period.
  12. I like the idea of slot limits to a point. Not at table rock but at Stockton it would be cool to see what the results would be. While we're at it lets put some grass in Stockton.
  13. That would be the biggest factor right there. Not that they never intermingle but often they choose different habitat. With Texas yea I appreciate their effort no doubt. I do wonder how much of it is actually doing any good though as aposed to good regulations.
  14. Just because spots get replaced by largemouth doesn't equal a better fishery. A 4lb spot is more fun to catch and prettier than a 4lb largemouth imo. A diverse fishery isn't a bad thing. As was stated above the conversation is claiming that Stockton is in better shape now than it has been in years. This despite the kentuckys. Why don't we get rid of the smallmouth too? Or walleye? Crappie? A hog pit lake would be a blast but it will never happen here. Try as they might Texas isn't even getting it done. This is mostly just my opinion. I'm not trying to be argumentative.
  15. I'm not against a 12" spot limit on Stockton. I am on table rock though adamantly and absolutely. It will cause confusion on what people keep though. You and I know the difference. Yes it's not that hard. Some will take advantage of it though.
  16. Well it's not sold apparently. $200 shipped or less local pick up.
  17. Because the kentuckys at table rock are fat and fun n to catch. They bring a different element to the fishing there. They expand on the talent and require an individual to be a more well educated fisherman to compete. They're beautiful fish there and I enjoy catching them. If they weren't there when the lmbv hit table rock would have been in even extremely much worse shape. Due to that though another type of angle came out of the ordeal. More people learned how to fish deeper. I'd catch largemouth out of willows all day if I could but I'll never ever complain about catching a 3lb spot.
  18. How many pm's have you got?
  19. Using the kentuckys on table rock isn't the best argument. Also in not sure why the thing about threadfins not being in Stockton keeps being repeated. I've had fish puke them all over my front deck at Stockton multiple times.

    YIKES!

Goodness. I've always had a respect for water. After losing a coworker last year (Rodney David) to a drowning at Stockton last year it really shook me how quick it can happen. That goes for all things life. You must be ready.

Wow. Is that damage from the water or them trying to get in it I wonder?
  22. Sun is your friend this time of year. They will still be near deep water and steep banks but shallow on them. Channel swings and bluffy type banks are your best bet in my experience.
  23. I like the way you think ham. But a few feet in some nice green willows is awesome. A little early for green willows though.
