  1. Sounds like a blast. Any of those make the voyage to the other end?
  2. Great report and I always enjoy the pics!
  3. Man I hear that! I often get a little to focused on trying to figure them out and get frustrated with the things I should be focusing on and that's my boys and I just having a great day together. Nice pic and good job!
  4. And that thought made it all the way to the internet. ***that came across jerkish. I was just ribbing him for admitting to doing honey do's instead of fishing.***
  5. I hope some of the fish you dropped in end up in some of your areas lol.
  6. I am down whenever guys! I may actually be down for several days come thanksgiving weekend. That's the tentative plan anyway. I appreciate the heads up rps. I honestly haven't got these fish figured out in this part of the lake yet despite fishing mainly the area within a few miles of that picture for the last few years almost exclusively. on table rock I mean sd I fish grand quite a bit. I don't know whether to fish them like river fish, deep fish that come shallow at times etc? I just haven't processed the lay of the land in this area yet I guess. I'm speaking mainly about quality. Come thanksgiving I hope to get them on a wart like I did a few Novembers ago. I think my problem is Im expecting to many fish to be concentrated in an area and am trying to run a pattern rather than learn more spots in the area that are reliable that I can build on like champ has mentioned before. Or I need to slow down a bit.
  7. I was thinking the same thing yesterday afternoon actually it was more like "grrrrrr, I shoulda stayed another day."
  8. I fished this section (west of eagle rock) with the green yesterday afternoon. I caught one one the bluff, one on a dock, in a cut, dropshotting 22', one in a cove, and maybe another I can't remember. No keepers. All on a spinnerbait other than the dropshot. I threw a wart too. That last stretch I really figured would give up a few with the wind on it but nope. Nothing. Maybe the shade hurt? The waters cold enough now that sun is a good thing. Keep in mind I had 3 others in the boat with me too lol. Not complaining though. I expected to do better this weekend but it just didn't pan out.
  9. Like trying to unhook a ticked off porcupine.
  10. Well, you can order from their site now if that helps. In store they're "on sale" for $2.99 right now. I'm not sure that means the site too. They're worth trying though.
  11. I think the cheap academy store brand h2o square bills are hard to beat. The get down for a square bill and get there fast. I recommend maybe trying a shorter shank hook on them. They catch fish and are a bargain.
  12. Ditto. Thanks Champ for the report. I got out for a few hours this afternoon and fished the back of owl creek and the last part of roaring river but not the very very back. Second to last stretch. I wish both had more color. Roaring River got so clear you coulda read a phone bill 12' deep. It was crystal clear. I only caught a few dinks. I found a big group of fish kinda deep on one of the turns. Third one in I think. Anyway I graphed a massive school and some shad. I think it's mostly whites. I couldn't pick on them to long as my youngest son was getting chilly. I did catch a white and a black on a spoon. I had one that I watched chase my spoon and ultimately not eat my spoon on the graph longer than I've ever had a fish do that before. It was hilarious and frustrating at the same time. The two fish I caught in owl creek came off standing cedars pitching a paca craw. One of them had two come with it. My son lost one on a square bill in there too. Lots of shad in owl creek but not in the section I fished in roaring river. The temp was 58-63 in owl and 53-62ish in roaring. Anyway tomorrow I'm not going to fish the rivers as much as I do main lake and smaller creeks and coves. All in all it wasn't what I expected and given the limited time I had I wanted to stick with the backs of creeks. Hopefully tomorrow is an improvement. I did get to play with my new gopro. This is going to be a fun aspect to fishing.
  13. I also read and read today. I didn't even get to the local stuff really. Most of it was the war stories. So fascinating!!! You don't learn this stuff in school.
  14. Very cool! Thanks for the link!
  15. Just reading that gives me the heebeegeebee's.
  16. Very true. I need to make the drive there to eat sometime. It's been forever ago.
  17. Awesome pic! I love pre-table rock pictures, of table rock. If any of you have any please post them! Also if anyone is interested in the history around table rock buy the tom koob (sp?) books! Very fascinating.
  18. Very cool! I wish it were 60' or so shallower. I love the pic in the bowling alley in kc of the bridge. I'd like to have one for the fishing room.
  19. I'd like to buy these unless I'm butting in. If not I want them. I'll send a pm also.
  20. Good eyes! Your effort is appreciated! I'll be bringing this thing to the rock with me from now on to throw here and there. I'd like to experiment with hooks and line diameter to see what I can get away with. Right now though I've got square bill on the brain.
  21. Lol! I wonder what hooks he was using? Actually I'm curious about his whole system.
  22. Why on earth quarantine then put back in table rock. Is there a chance they'd contract Ebola between kc and Springfield? Unless maybe "back in the water" doesn't mean table rock at all.
  23. I want to see if the spinbait is a player come jerkbait time
  24. I thought this was a decent little article. http://www.wired2fish.com/have-you-fished-the-ned-rig/
