  1. What I do for those weights is wait for snagging season to end. The river drops and I go out where people get snagged and pick them up. I Keep about half for next years snagging season and melt down the other half for 8oz no roll sinkers for the river. Idk how big of a rush you are in but it's nothing to get a gallon bucket full of weights. And if you plan on actually using them in a high current area I would recommend the no roll sinkers.
  2. I'm stuck at home with influenza b! I would never wish this on anyone. I had the wood burning stove going and I was right next to it still freezing. Had two covers + it being over 80 degrees in the room just freezing. Went to the dr Friday and had a 102.9 fever. Been on tamiflu since Friday and well worth the $100. Hope both of your wives get better.
  3. Britts I just viewed the trout cam for about 5 minutes and seen a fish get caught.
  4. I want to go fast but with that engine that's a whole new boat for me. My little 50 pushes me around 30 up river.

    Age Of Buck?

If you have a facebook account you can probably send it to Grant Woods and he'll share it to other people and ask the age of the deer and give you his opinion in a day or two.

    Age Of Buck?

If I was taking a guess it would be about 5 1/2 years. However his back isn't huntched down like most older deer but his belly is sagging like an older deer. I would have shot him though.

    Tattoos

I've seen several friends remove tattoos. What they do is act stupid on the highway doing wheelies and crash. All the sudden they ripped off their skin with road rash and the tattoo is gone.
  8. Welcome. Im looking at getting a x19 here soon.
  9. My work is forcing me out of town for 4 weeks again. When I am forced out of town I usually volunteer to go to Hot Springs, AR however that spot isn't open. Usually like to do some striper or small mouth fishing while I'm down there. I get to chose from Ft. Scott, Emporia, Abilene, or Marysville. All are in Kansas. I can also pick Pryor, OK. Never fished any of these places so I figured I'd ask to know if there is even any good fishing in these cities? Have to chose by Tuesday or I'll probably be forced to go to Little Rock, AR working 7 days a week 12 hour days.
  10. I've got a sit on 12' kayak for $200. I also have a white water kayak but I wojldnt expect anyone to fish out of it.
  11. Depends on the boat? I think I'm heading up to Thomas Hill Saturday morning to catch some hybrids. But will probably be a busy weekend.
  12. That sucks! I had all my bass fishing stuff stolen from me once and was devastated that someone would do that. And now my fishing equipment is insured while it's on my boat and in my house. All in all it's an additional $40ish a year. Not bad for something that is worth 1/10 of a some rods.
  13. It all depends on the time of year you want to fish and what body of water. I don't start walleye fishing Jan. 16th and on the Mississippi. And use a lot of night crawler rigs with spinners on them. I will go to T. Hill and do some crappie fishing right about now too. Bass fishing depends on the time of the year. If it's spring, summer, and fall and not in a tournament I fish 90% top because it's awesome to me to watch a big bass blow something up. The other 10% is a lot of crank baits and wacky rigged plastic worms.
  14. I went to the Columbia outlet mall today and bought a long sleeve shirt and some shorts that were more than 60% off. Not too bad. Pants were retail so I'll see what they do during summer time.
  15. I did a backpack/trout trip to New Mexico and was awesome. Don't look to catch any monsters but expect to see some scenery that will make you stop and just look around.
  16. I am anal about skin protection because I've been burnt with blisters a few times. And that makes you say more prone to skin cancer.
  17. Yeah I ordered a few long sleeves last night and 2 sets of pants. I'm not the biggest hat person so I'll still have to do sunscreen on the head and neck.
  18. As we are in the dead of winter I am thinking about when to take the boat for Spring, Summer, and Fall trips. As I work outside everyday and only do outdoor activities the sun takes a beating on myself. I (hopefully yourself) try to get as much sun protection as possible so I tend to wear these two shirts over and over. I only have two short sleeve button down UPF shirts I was thinking about getting a couple long sleeve shirts. I was wondering if anyone else wears UPF clothing or not? I personally love my shirts due to they are light weight and breath well. The sun is a killer especially to us on boats considering there isn't any hiding from the sun usually. I am just wondering if anyone else uses them and if so do you have multiple brands? Which ones do you like the most? Which are the lightest? Myself both of my shirts are made by Habit and I like both of them.
  19. Won't be there this year. ends up I'm hosting a party myself that I didn't l know about. And congrats gatorjet.
  20. With the warm weather we had I decided not to work and took the fiancé fishing. We just went down the street to Busch and we did pretty well. Saturday we fished from 2-430 and both caught over 30 and Sunday I went by myself for an hour and a half and caught 25 including a nicer one.
  21. Thomas Hill is pretty fun but only go during the week. Weekends it gets kinda crowded. We've pulled out several nice hybrids.
  22. Depends on if they send me back to work or not yet. Haven't been back to work in a month now. If they send me back nope but if they keep me off I am good to go.
  23. Thanks SMS I too hunt in Audrain Co north of Mexico. And that's where my uncles buck was taken. We have gotten a lot of nice deer up there including one that was 165"
  24. Here's a better picture of him. Taxidermist said that this deer head would have priority of being completed. When I took a 9 I shot a few years ago I had it back within 45 days. I'm hoping he can get it done by then but that's pretty rare.
