  1. Is there a courtesy dock at Baxter? I checked google earth and didn't see one. The Corp map says it is supposed to.
  2. No tourney, just a family vacation.
  3. I'm headed down Wed. morn., staying thru Sunday. Was curious if anyone has been catching them in the dam are. Was there week before last and I did pretty poorly, reports lake wide showed mixed results.
  4. Never fished the A-rig before last March. Hired Bill for 6 hours and learned so much about it. Have used it a few times since with some success. Still have a lot to learn I'm sure but it's another weapon in the arsenal.
  5. I've been using the Vanish clear 2# for 10 plus years and am very happy with it. Typically using 1/8 oz jigs and cleos or spinners.
  6. What model (size & length) of rod and reel do most of you use with the ice jig and spoons. What line type is preferred? I am going to give these baits a try next time I'm down.
  7. Perfect. Thanks.
  8. I was gonna head down next weekend and stay at the State Park. My intent was to put in at the state park boat ramp; I'm guessing with the tournament going out of the marina there that ramp may be hosed up that weekend. I checked the internet about Moonshine Beach boat ramp which I have never used. It said Moonshine beach is open 9a to 9p; I'm guessing that is probably just for the beach area. Can anyone tell me if the boat ramp is open 24-7 and will my Corps of Eng. mirror tag be all I need to use the ramp? What does that ramp look like? How many lanes and what kind of parking? Any help is appreciated.
  9. I would suspect the guy is in debt up to his eye balls and I would agree with the lack of common sense and courtesy.
  10. Thanks for the input guys.
  11. I am considering a 15' Old Town Camper Royalex for purchase. I would like any opinions about this boat, good or bad. My plan would be to use the boat mostly solo but also a little bit tandem. I will plan to use it for weekend overnight camping trips and fishing on Ozark streams and rivers.
  12. I've spent a lot of time at the above mentioned campgrounds and they are not set up for tents. When I come down with the tent I stay at the State park.
  13. ZOU! LMAO on the Razorback jokes; Bobby Petrino and Trailer parks; that's good stuff. Also I have to 2nd all the comments about Bill Babler, I had a trip in mid March with him and I was quite impressed, I'll be back again.
  14. I have quite a few Pfluegger President models; all sizes in both the old style and new and am very happy with them. I fished a bass guide trip with Bill Babler in March and fished with one of his Shimano Stradic reels I believe it was. That was a very nice reel, upper end of the spectrum as far as your price range though.
  15. Great report, thanks. I will be headed down to fish this coming Sat. thru Tuesday; Looking forward to a great few days of fishing.
  16. I'm getting excited, I've got a guide trip with Bill set up for Sunday. Looks like we should have some excellent weather and hopefully some big fish. Bill, hope you are feeling better. Looking forward to Sunday.
  17. Anyone have any opening day stories to post?
  18. All I get is the static photo, only 1 angle.
  19. Was hoping to read some fun stories of opening day 2015. Where they at?
  20. Just a post to get everyone's thoughts on their favorite Ozark stream or river to float, camp and fish for a 2 or 3 day weekend. Trout or bass, doesn't matter which.
  21. I have a used St. Croix 6'-6" light fast action with a Pflueger President reel. Real happy with both. I use this combo for jigs, cleos, spinners, you name it.
  22. Basically; I struggled. Went out each morning from 6 to 10 and again from 6 in evening to 10 ish. We maybe caught 5 bass the whole time. Mostly spent time in coves and points south and west of Robinson point, not sure of the creek arm that comes in there. Tried everything, grubs, spinnerbaits, top water, crank baits. Wasn't prepared for the lack of wood and trees.
  23. Starting early is the plan. We were thinking bout catfishing at night. Thanks for the reply.
  24. Can you tell me more about the walleye and bluegill? What did you catch them on and where about they were located? Were you trolling or casting for the walleyes? I'm headed down tomorrow evening with a small group, will be staying thru Sunday. This will be my first time fishing Norfork.
