Wrench I wonder about a lot of things about them. Most of the ones ive seen or dealt with have no clue about parenting or civil rights. When they tried to come in my house I told them blankoff... They called the police and I told the officer respectfully to get a warrant. He called Fish and Game who came out and did an inspection ( i was required to allow him in for that purpse ) we sat in my venom room for about an hour and half talking about the snakes and the awesome tarpon bite going on. Long story short the cps officer kept pushing the issue and causing us grief we ended up having to get a lawyer and have a judge issue a order keeping them from harassing us any further. What it came down to was the judge actually coming to the house and seeing the set-up. He ended up in there for 3 hours fascinated by the animals asking me more question than i got on earth day events lol. Look up Floridas Venomous Permit system and keeping laws. -
Hey whats the top of the dam over the road elevation? with goverment cutbacks they might have to lay off the guy who opens the gates and we could have road flooding lmao, But have no fear the dems will blame the repubs the repubs will blame the liberals and the pope will somehow get blamed for not praying.

Facebook And Gun Owners Beware

The only thing I see a lawsuit doing any good for is "possibly" getting politicians/lawmakers to ask why was a "PICTURE OF A GUN" enough grounds to solicit an investigation ""maybe"" requiring more rules for child services to follow before making a contact. Personal opinion on child services is they are a joke, and have way to much power. If a call is made about child abuse/neglect etc it should be sent to the POLICE and they should do the investigating. If a crime has been committed then get CS involved as the guardians of the childs rights and protection but not until the police have investigated as they will have to be involved in the event of a crime. I dealt with child services when i was keeping my snakes. They said my step-son was in danger after a call was made about it... Dispite fish and game and the American Zoological association inspections. Talk about a load of BS all because someones "opinion". It was thrown out but cost me thousands of dollars to fight. They have way to much power based souly on thier opinion. -

One Good Thing About Getting Old...

May 24th Seems from historical data to be the high water mark day. At least it appears that way on the graph from 2008 to present. I was watching the news this morning and it seems they are making a real big deal of Benton County being "WET" this year.... I guess for all these years no-one has ever gone to McDonals County, Washington County or Carrol to buy Booze before going to the lake. Maybe all those drinkers will raise it a little also. SO as a PSA ( DO NOT FISH IN THE YELLOW WATER )

SPF 2MILLION? LOL.

Jack; this scenario is basically a new to fishing person thread. For a rod I would suggest a 6.5ft uglystick rod combined with a decent spinning reel spooled up with 8lb test line, which will cover most Ozark lakes and streams. With leaders it can be used for trout to medium size catfish. I would set up for a tackle box basic terminal tackle; hooks from size 18 to 1/0. Egg sinkers from 1/8oz to ½ oz and swivels to keep the sinkers from hitting the hook. I would have at least 8 castmaster spoons in gold and silver 4 in 1/4oz 4 in ½ oz in both colors and load it with some rooster tails in various colors. Toss in some bobbers. Add in other lures you may be interested in or experimented with in the past. That’s the basics; I would set any new comer up with. But as we all know when you get hooked the cost factor goes out the window and people start buying quality gear and find what gear they prefer based on the species they target. No conversation with an adult fishermen who enjoys it and wants to get the most satisfaction out of fishing can really have a limiting price tag, I have been around way to many years and read these threads over and over and within a year the person is wanting upgrade advise. With that last bit in mind I suggest people start saving from day one and make many trips with friends or just to tackle shops to try out reels and rods. Though any starter gear can catch fish the higher the quality the gear the more enjoyable the experience will come. A Moped will get you where you want to go but a Corvette will make it much more enjoyable.

A gun is a weapon when it is used in offense or defense! A gun is a tool when used for things like paddling boats or target shooting! A gun is a medical instrument when used as a crutch! A gun is a grave marker when placed in the ground helmet on top! A gun is a sporting instrument when it is at the range! If a person is hit by a car, which happens daily it is seldom reported except by the very local media if even then. But if a person is shot by a gun it makes National headlines. Can anyone tell me why a Gun Death makes National News? Drunk Drivers killing people don’t make national news! Domestic disturbances ending in a death seldom make National News ( even if a gun is used )! Gang Violence doesn’t make National News ( guns are even used )! Hunting accidents seldom if ever make national news ( gun related even)! So tell me please why is it that some stories make National News and Headlines? We have death, sorrow, tragedy, grief, anger and story.

Easily hit Full pool, its come up 3ft in a month and more rain expect full pool being only 1120.43 the real question is will we get a major downpour that puts it to top of pool 1130.00? My guess it probably 1125 but if we get back to back storms in short order could see it go to Gates open at 1129.

Nice fish and great eatings Derek. WC and I were in PC most the day. The Gizzard shad are super thick in there right now 10 to 14'' size. the striper boats are going in to the back to get them. We tried fror stripers but NO glory. Did manage 7 nice whites all the way in the back, some shore anglers had told us they were cleaning up on the whites and had a few stripers to 25lbs. Best action we had was at the mouths of PC and Avoca, the baits were constantly getting spooky but I beleive it was small stripers that couldnt handle the monster baits that were making them nervous.

Ive been around guns all my life carried for almost 20 years and have never had an Accidental discharge! I have been around guys who have hunted and carried all their lives with no accidental discharge. I have seen GUN MALFUNTION that caused discharge ( tree limb snagging trigger while walking through woods) but a safty on would have prevented it! Seen a few guns with malfunctions cause the gun to go off ( but those were malfunctions ). The article says the child was shot in the Head and Thigh? I did not see mention of the type of gun BUT something seams fishy. If a Gun in hand goes off by someone pulling the trigger its NOT an accident if a gun goes off because lack of use of safety or pointing it in a safe direction I.E. Firearms safety 101 then its not an accident! If a gun goes off by a malfunction then it is an accident! BUT if all safety handling practices are followed and accident should not harm someone in most cases.

Do I Need A Baitcast Combo?
Feathers and Fins replied to Jack Jones's topic in General Angling Discussion
LOL Just made me think of chasing Yellowtail around Catalina Island as a kid, we would get on the bow of the boat with 8ft rods and Jigmaster reels and when we got within 100ft of the fast moving schools would throw little 3 to 5'' anchovies in front of the school. The boat captains and our parents would take bets from any fool who would bet against them that " those kids" couldnt make the throw and hook up. They made a lot of money because people thought it was impossible let alone for 8 to 12 year old kids to do it. Truth be told its a matter of a good lob, with great feeling on your thumb to play out the line as you cast, takes practice but you can be very accurate with super light baits and the best thing was when you hooked on you have the power to fight those 20 to 40lb fish. Great memories. -
Beaver is not tablerock, you would be more looking at ACE Campgrounds than lodges. Coppermine would be the only lodge I can think of honestly.

Do I Need A Baitcast Combo?
Feathers and Fins replied to Jack Jones's topic in General Angling Discussion
No you do not. For the type of fishing you are talking about you really dont need one. Now if you got into Big fish ( Striper, Paddlefish or Catfish ) then i would say get one for the pure drag power of a casting reel. Im not talking basscasting reels but true baitcasters and there is a major difference in the to species. You hook up a bass baitcaster to say a Calcutta and see which one outpulls and outlast the other. The true Baitcasters will allow you to throw a bait as light as fractions of an ounce to as large as your rod and line will handle. Look up some of the youtube videos on California live bait fishing, guys are casting anchovies long distances and I have never seen a bass baitcaster that could do that with such a light bait without throwing it off, backlashing to hell or very short cast. Every reel has its limitations and areas it excels and for what you are talking about a spinner is probably the best choice and most versatile reel. To be honest I do not even own a Bass Baitcaster, I have spinners that i use and when i get to a class that requires more i go to the true baitcasters.
