Enforcement is always an issue. I have many friends with both State and Federal agencies and all will say the same thing. " How many cops is there per town? Yet how many Wardens are there per state" Makes alot of since when you figure out how many square miles a Warden must cover and we will never have enough wardens to protect the resource as it should be. It is really up to Us the Sportsmen to report violation with as much detailed information and photos if possible as possible to them so they can nail these peoples balls to the wall. But alas I have seen the penalties for violations and they really are not stiff enough to stop people from doing it IMO. Tougher Penalty and more enforcement is what is needed along with our help.

Marty you might want to try bisting them off the pond the night before just before dark but no shooting. I have done it before many times.. they just jump to a nearby pond and then in the morning trickle back in... Thats a tough call though as I have done it and had them not come back... Im glad you found birds its dried up around here to the point im thinking of hitting Roaring River this weekend for some trout...Good luck and remember POST PICTURES.

I'll go back to my saltwater roots here. For as long as I can remember Umbrellas and Multy-Hooked rigs have been part of it and NOONE I have ever talked to from the weekend fisherman to the Pro anglers call them cheating or unsportsman like. The fish still has to BITE the lure, It still has to be presented to where the fish is. It still requires the angler to battler the fish. If anything multiple hook ups on the same rig could cause LOST fish. I will also now discuss Super Sized baits. I have thrown AC Plugs, Z Plugs, Castaic Trout and other GIANT baits we are talking 4ounces and larger and some over 16 inches for Striper and largemouth and by far have caught more double hook-ups on them and I have trolling umbrella rigs. Price is certainly High on these baits and yes your arms will want to fall off at the end of the day but they are devistaing on Bass and the reason is simple. Bass A has a meal caught and Bass B wants a free meal. I have seen it and talked to others who have seen it and had it happen. Its much like the "FAIR CHASE" Arguement in hunting. Ask a group of people what they call it and you will get multiple answers! The answer should be simple. If it is Legal in the state than so be it! If a tournament wants to Ban or disqualify certain practices or tools that is up to them. But do not label a lure as un-sporting or un-fair and give politicians a chance to slip their two cents in. Truth be told LIVE BAIT is the most un-sporting lure there is but 100% Legal. Do you want to open the door!

No mine's alarm went off within a couple minutes of being in the lake and then shut down without going in gear and the peeing was very obviously slowed down. I could put it in gear but the alarm would go off then it would shut down..

I dont know who to use around here for a low budget but the problem you described I have had happen. Works great on the hose but on lake it doesnt, Had that happen and it ended up being my water pump Hose had enough pressure to keep the water flow good but take it off and the it didnt... changed out the pump and all was good again. Hate to say it but with the motors the way they are today it may need to go into the shop and have them find by elemination whats really wrong. But check the water pump first. Its gotta Pee just like you and mee.

Here is what I want to know... Why is should it be banned? Keep in Mind This tactic of multy Lure if you want to call it that is going to be banned by the so called "Elites" of Bass when this is a common and accept practice. An umbrella rig has been around for years and thats all it is a mini-Umbrella. Its not Live Bait and its still the angler having to have the skill to use it and even more throw it. Its just another Lure and if its legal in the state why ban it?

Chris if you posted on there they would be crying, I love tormenting people on there as they take life way to serious and many have the IM THE BEST ATTITUDE or Black Hoody envy... I personaly think the pics and stories ive read here this year have been much better than anything ive seen there in years. Real stories of guys having fun to me thats what its all about. Now we need to think about some Thunder Chicken hunts lol.

My wife and I eat a ton of geese each year. I have had guys who swear goose is the most horrible thing they have eaten try mine and are begging for more. Like BW said its either Barely cooked or Fall apart or you get the liver taste. My favorite way to cook them is simple. Fillet out the breast and soak them 24 hours in Mcormicks Rotisary Chicken and Accent about 1/2 bottle of McKormicks and 2 teaspons Accent. Take them out and rinse well. Place them in a baking bag with the other half of the bottle of McKormics 1/4 cup water add some carrots and taters and bake at 350 for 1 hour Taste like a roast ive been told. They key for me is fillet them as fast after shooting as possible to that end i fillet the breast out right there leaving it attached to the skin but seperating it from the body with a ziplock bag so no internal juices can get to it. Makes a world of differance.

Same here about trash. I found a bunch of hull and trash in the one i hunt on beaver this weekend, spend 20 minutes picking up after others... I just dont get why people cant do their best to clean up after themselves. I understand shells you might over look but food wrappers, Cig packs and snack food.. come on have some respect for the land too. -

No Need for GPS in this post lol.. Great reading... -
Wayne, I have seen the bigger hybrids 8lbs and bigger eat 10'' gizzard shad no problem. Also Flatheads love them. About 10'' is the biggest even a big Hybrid can take on over that its purely striper or cats. If we had FL Strain LMB in the lakes then even the big Gizzard shad would be in danger. I have seen them eat a 12'' trout and ducklings more than once, hence the reason the west coast bass guys chuck striper sized baits at them.

Dont post it on the Fuge Brother or every Tom Dick and Guide will be all over all of us like they are for the spring snows... By the way NICE PILE and 6th on bottom from left just has to be a 20lber lol.

Cast Iron ALL THE WAY! Nothing beats it for all game and fish and wooden spoons, NO metal should ever be used in one, I have my grandmothers who was her mothers very old and full of flavor. Also something very nostalgic about cooking from something thats been used for family gatherings for so long.

Wayne im not sure about the Pressure on stripers on BS. Beaver gets tons of preasure heck I see people on forums from around the country talk about it, but truthfully for the average person figuring them out is hard on Big lakes like we have in the Ozarks. Ill use Cali as an example; The lakes are much smaller and summer or winter it only takes a pair of Bino's and 30 minutes at most to find the FLEET of boats fishing for them. I truly beleive that if more people would actually learn the habits of stripers that we would see more people targeting them with HIGH success rates. I think about this when i watch the Pro Bass and Walley shows. There is alot of people watching and learning from those shows which also spark alot of interest in fishing for those species. Stripers dont have big tournaments or TV shows dedicated to them, if they did I would bet we would see more people chasing them. Honestly what got me into carp fishing was a friend of mine in England turning me onto how big tournaments were over there and how much fun they are on the fly, When i introduced him to bone fishing on the flats he said " You love doing this so why not Carp?" I GAVE IT A TRY WITH HIM! Behold Carp are freshwater bonefish!! Runs like and fights like a Bone and just is plain old fun.

Dogs And Fly Tying
Feathers and Fins replied to Njardar's topic in Fly Tying Discussions & Entymology
7 year old Black Lab seems to always wake up when im tieing especially if using wild Duck or Squirrel... Its ok by me I love my girl BUT when I get up to go get something I have to put certain items up that are normally retrievable properties lol -
Here is a silly question as I do not fish BS alot.. From what im reading it sounds more like BS is a less than stellar trophy bass lake but could be a trophy Walleye lake, Why not manage it for Trophy Walleye and Striper? A 8lb Walley can and ive seen and cleaned them with up to 10'' Gizzard shad in them. So why not take advantage of the potential to grow Monsters eye's in it. Increase the size limit to say 25'' that is a 5lbs walleye. Or Slot it to No more than 3 fish 2 fish may be between 18 and 24 inches and only 1 fish over 25 inches
