  1. Nope I stayed home for a wonderful dinner. That area is just to far for me to run for an evening trip I seem to always find deer on the way home from out there and not in a good way.
  2. Its a Striper. Body shape and lines are a dead give away. The lines on a hybrid are broken completely and the body is more like a football than a pencil.
  3. If you are going to store things on your dock I suggest using a Construction Gang Box, even on sites over the years where things have been stolen those boxes if secured are not messed with. Bolt it to the dock and you should be good to go. Second mount cameras on your dock, Both spypoint and smartscout make cameras that are perfect for the job and if your a hunter you have a camera for the season that sends pics to your phone or even the live view option.
  4. If you need a laugh or just some toilet reading material this is one of the best in a while... And to think there really are people who believed he shot it! That is what makes it best. https://www.facebook.com/REFactorTactical
  5. Quill I have heard more than 1 bass angler cussing over catching them lol. But luckily and im knocking on all wood and rubbing the rabbits feet I haven't been greenfished this year yet, But I have and evening trip planed for an area I fear will quickly change that. Well if the rain holds off anyway.
  6. For shark KJ... Might want to go a little smaller for the lake lol
  7. No clue how they base the numbers. I also don't think its as heavily fished as you would think. Most people i talk to get frustrated trying to fish for them and give up pretty fast as they really do require specific technique for different times of year and much of it is boat control combined with technique so people think of it as very hard. To me though that's the challenge and the rewards are very tasty.
  8. Sure a lake can be over fished, I do think they monitor Beaver pretty carefully and that will help. For myself I need just 1 20' fish to feed me and my wife typically by the end of May I have enough in vacuum bags to get me through the summer dull drums so I only keep 1 freshy or two at most per week the rest get to go back, we eat walleye on average twice a week so the fresh one plus a froze one is perfect for us. To me its about self regulating only what you really need to same goes for crappie unless I have a fish fry coming up. I found it takes 4 crappie for me and my wife and we eat it about once a week to once every two weeks so I build up stock in the vacuum bags and then only keep what I need for a meal for fresh. I cannot begrudge anyone for keeping any fish to eat that's why God put them here, but if you are going to keep some in the freezer use a vacuum bag and only keep what you need for your family plus some for when its slow in that way I believe we would insure the continued sustainability of the fish. What I do see as potential problems to the fish are the limb, jug and trot lines in the lake. They are indiscriminate killers! I cannot tell you how many times I have seen the lines floating unattended during the day which is ILLEGAL and seen ( J ) style hooks on them which are great gut-hookers which kills sub-legal fish. I wish AGFC would get on these guys and also change the law to require circle hooks on them. Same for Limb and Trot lines, make them use circle hooks. If you are going to do this type of fishing that's fine but use hooks that are more friendly on sub legal fish. My Jugs are all set with Circle Hooks and its common to catch undersized fish and they are not gut hooked because of the Circle and can be released.
  9. I saw the report and it looks good but I wasn't surprised as the resident goose population in NWA was through the roof on breeding this year and I have seen many ducklings including teal that bread on the lake this year ( first time I have seen that ). I followed the biologist reports through the survey time and had a feeling from the buzz they were going to be high numbers. Should be a good year but I think the numbers are LOW if you followed the reports many of them were completed or hampered by weather and ground conditions and I believe there was a very late breeding this year that would not have made the counts.
  10. Roughly, you need to play with the lure to find out for certain. Flicker shad will as will most Rapala's. Warts tend to run a little deeper Bandits are the worse behind riggers IMO they seem to be all over the place. Also no reason to let the 150 out I actually only let out 50ft to obtain the depth needed when using riggers because you loose the drag factor as everything is already in the water.
  11. I wasn't go to post a depressing report and remind you your son is now a TEENAGER
  12. You did if you would have kept the two bluegill
  13. Funny thing is there is a ice-chest in my boat all the time and I never have problems lol.
  14. Nice looking rig
  15. Now your just showing off lol
  16. Yup use both of them, that one I just had handy to throw in the picture. I also have been toying with a 4 blade set-up but still working out kinks. The nice thing about that set-up is being able to scale down to 6lb line for increased fight.
  17. Here is the four Pill with the swivel just above the blade. and a 3 pill set same way without the blade
  18. Negative on the hunger part, the amount of bait that has moved in since Wednesday is insane they got plenty of groceries so its time to find a new spot out of walking distance of the free buffet.... Blistering hangovers no doubt.... Blistered skin absolutely...
  19. DEAD SLOW TODAY.... Doc and I fished from 5am till 10:30 and managed a whopping 7 fish total. There was tons of bait and plenty of fish in the zone but they were not biting. I think the weekend traffic has really put them off.
  20. I should note that is two feet from the loop to the weight. I like my bait suspending off the bottom and with this rig I can adjust it for instance if I see fish where the bottom is 25ft and they are suspending at 23ft I can set the dropper loop at 5ft above the weight which presents the bait to the fish perfectly and with the float beads which RPS taught me about my snag rate is very low.
  21. This is my rig. I have found using a dropper loop with the swivel in it pretty much take the line twist issue away. Also I like the three pills for floatation and have several 4 pill rigs. 4 pill will twist but I solved that problem by adding a swivel in front of the Blade and then another swivel at the end of the leader attached to the dropper loop with slow death hooks. Ill get pics of it later. But anyway here is the basic rig I hope it helps
  22. Cranial rectosis is known by the State of California and the Surgeon General to: Cause otherwise respectable and honorable people to create hazardous situations. Primary Symptoms include: Large Belt Buckle Large Boat Alcohol Being a Late teen Early 20's Also included symptoms are: Keeping up with the Jones Status Symbol luxuries Use of Viagra
  23. Actually its not that interesting its just variations of a "Firetiger" call me an old fuddy duddy or unimaginative but seems fire tiger works great in summer with cranks if they are active so I figured why not with a slower approach lol.
  24. Its all nice to talk big and bad on the net BUT there are big bad guys out there and starting something over someone's stupidity is a good way to get hurt or killed at worse and go to jail at best. KEEP in mind every Dick and Debby has a go-pro or video on their phone and if you sling lead at them you WILL be the one caught on camera and WILL be the one cited or arrested for being stupid and keep in mind those violation points can add-up fast and cost you your Fishing license. I would say start videoing the morons and uploading the video to the local news stations Facebook pages, they get enough of it they will do a story and get law enforcement really active and when the fools and there friends see it on a FB the embarrassment and worry about the law coming will be priceless.
