You're lucky it was crappie and not walleye..she will share crappies but walleye she would have took your arm off and probably hurt me bad lol
-
Got off early yesterday and went out to the 12 bridge area I marked some fish on some fresh brush piles and started jigging the white spoon and picked off a few nice crappie to 14'', I ran a few more of the new piles all had some crappie on them bottom depth 20fow top of the piles in 16 to 12 fow the crappie were suspending just on the tops of the piles. I was home in time meet Doc to give him some of the spoons and some fresh cooked crappie. I think he was happier to get some fresh crappie than the spoons lol. Guys they are moving up and starting to bite but still seems about 3pm they get lock jaw, I hope these storms and warm rain really turns them on and gets the walleye up shallow. BTW Doc my wife is still giving me evil looks for giving you her lunch for today lol.

Owning A Boat In College
Feathers and Fins replied to Simonthegolfer's topic in General Angling Discussion
Never go partnership with a BOAT, 5TH WHEEL, ATV, CAR/TRUCK or DOG! I have seen way to many friendships end that way and even more fights because of it. You are going to college for a higher education NOT Fishing and education is where you need to focus your attention. That may sound harsh and I hope it does, but if you worked hard to get in to college you are hopefully working toward a better life in the future. Planning already for playing is a major problem as you are taking your eye off the goal. The Goal should be the education to secure that in the future you will be able to have a boat Of Your Choice! Best case scenario should be 4 to 6 years college then at minimum 2 years in the field you went there for geared toward a home purchase and then after that perhaps another 2 to 4 years get the boat. You can adjust those numbers depending on the degree you seek and career pay for entry positions. You need to take into account the cost of being a boat owner as well. The cost of buying one is just the first in a series of expenditures you will face. -
Gotta love Moses friends, those two old farts are always on fish

JF, Is no TrulyBad. JF walks the walk and lets his play do the talking, He has the attitude and definately the swagger for NFL. If he can stay in the pocket he is dangerous out of it he is deadly and will beat you... BUT this is the next level and going out of pocket in the NFL can get you hurt and watching from the sidelines. I said it a long time ago that he reminded me of Montana and if he gets the maturity to go with his natural skill many will start saying it. Second BUT, He has to get with a good team that will take advantage of his skills and build around him to let them mature as well as get him with someone on the team that will help keep him humble. All those things happen and he will be a great QB. TB i always said was all hype no game and comparing the two is like comparing a Mustard Sead to a Watermelon ready on the vine.

You better tell me if you go there and if Moses's friends were correct, though i suspect they were as they have yet to let me down.

1.5 TO 2.7 if you have crappie on flats single pole troll only and make wide sweeping circles it will add a lot more action to the bait and trigger the bites. If you are on Beaver Lake have the drag set light the stripers love them and will quickly detach it from your line. Remember you should be using no heavier than 10lb test line. Floro will help it get a little deeper as well. If you need to get it way down make a 5ft leader and at the top of it attach a 1/4 to 1/2 egg sinker to the main line and barrel swivel as the connection.

Listen to the Jedi Master next time lol. Warm rain expected today up to 1/2 inch possible, and talking with several sources that knew Moses said tomorrow should be great up the river from War Eagle Marina to Yates Dr Point ( you figure out where it is but they use a driving map to mark their areas lol ) told you they are old. If we get 1/2 inch beware of logs and fish current breaks.

The Magic is not the bait though flickers must have been invented by Houdini, a good magician never reveals his secrets but the illusion is based on knowledge of how to make the magic happen. I would say it more about knowing your boat, knowing the lure, knowing your electronics, knowing your rod, reel, line and how to wave your wand to make them all pull off the illusion.

Were they where I told you?

Windows Xp Is Set To Expire On April 8.

We are in the middle of a complete switch from Laptop to LG G-pads at work. With a dedicated server and VPN capability to our Network I can go scope a job live, have instant customer signatures and required photo and documentation paperwork sent to the office within seconds especially with 4g connection. Now for all the docs they are excel based so as long as excel remains alive and well no issues. The savings on paper and toner and all other cost with using paper will more than pay for the G-pads. Computers are just like fish finders, For home use anything will work but for tournament/work you better be up to date with the best tech. -
AV Micro is the one I use and on the clear end of the lake I can see about 10ft... Reconditioned units through AQ are about 150 bucks... Stumpy Put on a 200pn downrigger cable it will help directionalize it for you, also prevents flatheads and stripers from taking it for a ride, beware smallies they really like it for some stupid reason. Another option I use to know for sure which way it is looking is to attach it to my retractable decoy retriever, only good for 20ft but most times that's all I need anyway. You want to see a real cool thing hit up Monte ne when its clear.

Bad one, I have several now that have had numerous stripers and whites on and except for some hook replacements still looking good for the abuse I put them through. Worse color for showing damage IMO is any of the Blues, followed by the speckled shiner but I cant 100% fault them I do tend to try and break rocks with them and remove timber.

My first Boss God bless him and me he be with the Good Lord was,,, well there is no words for him. He saw I loved construction with a passion and saw to it that I learned a career and mastered each trade I could. He put me with 40 year journeymen, masters of their trades and Sheetrock, Framers, Painters, Roofers and Plumbers. On slow days he would have me go out with his Estimators or sit in with the Architects and Engineers. The man required I maintain my grades and also take advanced courses to get certifications In Fire, Flood and Water Damage and restoration. What was the point of all that? Simple there is no school K-University that can prepare you for the real world only hands on experience and knowledge skills passed down from mentors' can do that. Our schools can give you the basic skills to perform the most remedial of calculations and writing skills but they cannot give you a career or trade skill under the current mentality of teaching. I really started reading up on other nations last night after Mitch's question and it seems the majority of other countries have heavy vocational training in school, they are less concerned about the "electives/sports/clubs" and more concerned about life skills RRR and Vocational preparation. I have no doubt if it wasn't for my boss and his requiring my grades stay up and putting me with skilled craftsmen I wouldn't be where I am now.

Actually I would say more than a fishing forum looking over all the choices of on the list.

Absolutely not. I have a good friend who is a teacher in Japan and we have discussed this at length and actually sent him a common core 10th grade assignment for his students to do. They all did the work and did a theses on what they believed of it. He said most of them concluded that the students were being taught to think differently than what is expected and accepted in the rest of the world and in the business environment and are being set-up for failure upon graduation. You must understand the Japanese school system is more designed around lectures as well as the basic skills and heavy classes on vocation and technology, where as the American system is based more on learning the basic skills with some advanced classes but not until college do most students start being trained for the work force. Also the cost is much different, in japan many families pay to send their kids to a private school to increase their learning and in no way put up with the crap our poor teachers have to deal with.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOL

Tattle tail, I wasn't telling a soul about them

Correct it does not correct nor have the capability to correct it. I honestly do not see education correction happening until the Fed and State stays the heck out of it. Unfortunately they will never understand that there are some students who refuse to learn, those need to be removed from regular school and placed in a secondary school, a (troublemaker school ) if you will... Hey they had them when I was in school and our graduation rate was higher and there were not near the distractions and attitude influences that are in todays schools. I swear I want to bang my head on my desk when an applicant comes in wearing his hat to the side his pants around his ankles and say YO MAN I NEEDS ME AN APP. And whats better is when they fill it out and the dumbass cant even follow the directions of LAST NAME FIRST!

Randy your example is nothing more than the practice of product research and quality, something that has been around for long before I started working. I do it every day at work constantly keeping up on product reliability and cost. This is not what I have seen from common core though, if it was I would not be so against it. Jammi teaches High school math s well and until the schools get back to teaching and more importantly FAILING and HOLDING BACK students who should not be advanced because they cannot master the rudimentary skills required then nothing no matter how much of "equal" footing for school grading purposes for the politicians to feel good will make a difference. Schools need to get back to flunking students who do not have the skills should never be advanced. By the time a student reaches High School they should have the basics in math ( Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division ) I would also say they should by then have Pre-Alg and Alg 1. I know the common core is supposed to " prepare them for college and the work force " however I do not see it. What kids need is classes on how to properly interview, class on book keeping and other courses that truly prepare them for adulthood and the responsibilities of it. We are not IMO teaching the kids to succeed in adult life.

Randy you know I respect you and think of you as a friend but I will chime in from the employers point of view. Simply put there is only one way and one answer to 4+4, I cannot nor can most people I know use a employee that wants to use common core teachings in solving mathematic problems that in the real world can cost a company thousands of dollars. I am required to do accurate take-offs and precise estimates ( not bids ) but precise to the penny estimates. I have seen the math end of common core and can tell you it will NOT work in the real world. It might be good for averaging grades for schools assessment grades by the state but that's it.
