  1. Had to leave them biting. Smallest was 9 lbs
  2. If you are below bagnell, make sure you are below highway 54 bridge. If below Truman dam, make sure you are below highway 65 bridge. Those are the start of prohibited waters for spoonbill snagging.
  3. They be catching some nice walleye their right now. They are starting to show up.
  4. Yeah the ulterra trolling motor self deploy sure makes it a lot easier to go fishing by myself. Great report!
  5. That's a pretty deep v in the background, lol. I was putting in as you guys were snapping pics. I found some hybrids with biggest going right at 12 lbs. Truman is definitely an amazing lake!
  6. I wonder if them blitzing after a boat/ PWC passes by has to do with the noise or more with stunning and/or disorienting that year's shad on the surface with prop wash and scattering, leaving the hybrids an advantage that they have learned? Could be one or both, but I will have to keep a weathered eye out for this behavior from now on.
  7. From what I have read and spoken to others about, the theory behind these thumpers working on stripers is because it mimics the sound of the augers in the feeding trucks while they were at the hatcheries. They are conditioned to feed when they here that sound. Never talked to anyone about using it on whites.
  8. Just drag a couple of 5 gallon buckets of the back of your boat. It will slow you down and be a lot cheaper. You could also invest in a wind sock to drag if you wanted something that is more easily stowed.
  9. What mopanfisher said except make sure once you smell bleach at a faucet inside the house, run all faucets until you smell bleach. Shock your entire system. If you don't treat all water in all the lines, the bacteria can work its way back through the system.
  10. anywhere from 10ft-25ft.
  11. Any trout colored swimbait. There are all types of brands.

    Shad

They are all over by Osage bluff. When you find them, it will only take one throw to fill up a net. Look for them flipping early in the day.
  13. No, but river run is.
  14. These work great and I will be getting some more. Caught this 14 lber and several other 8 lbers on Truman the first time I used these. Would highly recommend.
  15. That's actually pretty funny, well played!
  16. I would agree, most anglers are polite and respectful. I stated earlier about not sinking to their level and was joking about hot lapping. Insinuating that we we were infringing on bank fisherman while knowing nothing about the area is just ignorance. The area we were in is inaccessible to bank fisherman. You obviously don't mind being rude and crowding other boats, and that's fine. Its your prerogative. I feel the crowding that happened to me was rude and uncalled for, but is out of my control. I do go fishing to "alleviate" stress, but am not always successful obviously. At least I try to find a productive way to enjoy my time instead the alternatives. Either way, I'm over it and am done arguing about it. Everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and opinions, that is one of the amazing things about this beautiful country. Tight lines!
  17. Top water early and late, spoons, rattle traps and rooster tails when the sun is up. 8-15 ft of water. Good luck and post pics! Bite is better when they are running water through the dam.
  18. What you do not want to happen to you, do not do it yourself either. " – Sextus the Pythagorean As mentioned earlier, I don't crowd others as I don't like to be crowded. I patiently wait until they are finish our look for fish elsewhere. I like to think of it more as the golden rule, but, to each their own. I like the speedo idea, I just don't believe I have the confidence to pull it off....
  19. That escalated quickly, lol. I apologize. As I said, I am usually under a lot of stress at work and use fishing and getting outside as a way to relieve some of said stress. So after compartmentalizing everything from life and work, the valve opens a little too quickly at times. Sorry to those i offended. On a more positive note, there are walleye biting at the pothole.
  20. I think it would be safe to consider yourself the tail support if you did something so rude as to cause them to hot lap(go in circles) you? To be honest, I wouldn't sink to their level, but I will have words with them from now on. I can bite with the best of them, but choose not to because this is a hobby I truly enjoy and use as stress relief from job sites. But if this is the direction of some peoples mentality, then trust me, I can be an angry ahole also. I guess the sport of fishing is going to hell just like everything else. Biggest ahole gets the best fishing spot.
  21. Thats what the hot lapping would be used for. He made your fishing experience less enjoyable, so make his by trying to feel a bite and keep slack out of his line in 3 foot wake....
  22. No book or regulations, I just consider it manners. I don't crowd others as I don't like to be crowded. I guess I just need to buck up and throw more elbows. I guess I should just motor over and start fishing out of other people's boats since it's not in a book? If everyone starts using the mentality, "if it is not in a code book or a regulation then its ok," fishing public waters is going to get pretty nasty. You aren't the pictured individual by chance, are you?
  23. Well it shouldn't be par for the course anywhere. Maybe I need to start going for birdies by doing hot laps while being trimmed up. My Targa 20 can throw some pretty good rollers until it gets on plane... Maybe that would get across that's unacceptable. If I can't fish the spot I have been fishing for the last 2 hours before you parked on it, no one can... at least not with out some good balance.
  24. I would like to personally thank this guy for going between us and another boat, that were not more than 20 yards apart, and shutting down our walleye bite. We caught a walleye not 10 minutes before he decided to post up directly on top of where we were catching fish when he arrived, needless to say it was our last. I know the pothole can get pretty tight with multiple boats, but to me, proper etiquette would dictate to at least get in line with the other boats and cast to the area that is already being fished. If he is a member here, or if anyone knows him, I would love to hear his take on how he thought this was acceptable.
  25. The hybrids are on fire all around kk island with them releasing all this water. It dirtied up significantly since last week but they are still being caught. Just look for all the boats.
