This guy here sits in our living room My yellow lab HATES IT, so one of my favorite things to do is move it around when he isn't looking. When he wakes up from his little nap he's gonna jump 4 feet in the air. ?

Good question. I don't come across the really big ones very often. Most are 3-4" and either black/brown or olive/brown with red and yellow specks.

I had a problem once that I thought was going to turn out in my favor..... But I was wrong. I was in a creek fishing when a deputy appeared out of nowhere. He told me I was fine and was breaking no laws but wanted to warn me that a cranky landowner called in and wanted me out of there. I told him that I would leave just to keep the peace but that I wished I could still fish the creek at another time. The deputy made it clear that I could if I wanted to. I tried to call the landowner and then went and knocked on his door, but he would neither answer the phone or the door, so I went fishing. Next thing I know here comes a different deputy with a conservation agent and they cited me for trespassing. WTF?... I took the citation up to the PA's office to try and get them to drop it, but he wouldn't even let me finish a sentance. Spoke to a lawyer and he wanted a 1500.00 retainer. So I paid 120.00 fine and went on with my life. The cranky landowner croaked several years ago and NOW I can fish the creek again. So I guess the only way to win is to outlive anyone that doesn't want you there.

I grew up in the same town as Kit Bond. There were 3 strip pits within sight of his house that were loaded with nice bass, but to my knowledge he never wet a line in any of them. I guess fishing just wasn't his thing.

What is the size of public easement on a railroad, or is there any ? Is that state or federal?

When it comes to "fishing shows" I think the guys with YouTube channels are rockin' it. Lakeforkguy, Tactical bassin', and a handful of others are putting out some seriously good quality stuff. They pimp their sponsors some (as they should) but it certainly isn't annoying and repetitive. Way better than the crap shown on network TV.

Having one pincher a size bigger than the other is patent pending. ?

I love it when guys start explaining the reasons why they fish a certain type of area during a certain time of the year. Sometimes it really cracks me up. ? -
I can make this alot easier, cheaper, and more fun for ya.... Get you some goggles, a snorkel, and a small net. Swim around the bases of seawalls in the back 1/2 of small coves after Memorial day and you can load up on a whole bucketful of crawdads in a single afternoon.

Nice! ------- I wish guys would quit tearing up their boats....Just for a few days....So I could get out there. ?

Exactly. Last June though there was plenty of water. He just was using his mapping program and the channel isn't where the mapping programs indicate it is. Navionics and the other mapping programs are often not accurate. Sometimes, like in that particular instance, they aren't even close. He's more than 200 yards from where he needs to be. He may have figured it out on his way back out. Did it show him having to push his way back out of there?

I coulda shown OTT an easier way in there ? Guess I'll wait until it's available on DVD because I want to see ALL the footage. Anyone know when that will be?

Yeah.....Hand that to the prosecutor and see what his reaction is. ?

Well if all of those cats came from where they said they did, then they had to pass right through my stomping grounds to get there. I'm guessing that they are piling up there like white bass below a dam because they don't wanna swim across the Mississippi.

Maybe a little ? I do think though that IF they became established here they would be more of a problem here than they are out West. Here they would be confined to woodlots because we don't have the vast expanses of forests and mountains like there is out West. At the edges of these woodlots we have sub-divisions and neighborhoods. The deer are in OUR YARDS as much as they are in the woods, so any big cats in this area would be doing their feeding along the edges. That's too close. Having never lived in cougar country I wouldn't be comfortable knowing that there could be one taking up residence in the 1.5 mile wide X 4 mile long stretch of forest that borders my 10 acre yard. Pretty sure all my neighbors feel the same way, so if one shows up around here, he's toast. And I'll be more glad than sad to see it eliminated.

Right! And being careful and smart (to me) means....Kill them when you see them. Because if one decides to make a meal out of you there's no degree of careful/smart that will likely change its mind. Even if you had a nice fresh ham to lay down for him he'd probably go ahead and eat you, then have the ham later.

You might try HVO http://www.hvoutfitters.com/ Not sure what they do during the Winter but the lower float would be a good one now. Your vehicle is left at the takeout so there's no rush to get there on time. If they don't wanna do it then call Barry at Adventure http://mo-adventures.com/

The most scared I've ever been of any animals in the woods was from a pack of wild dogs during a rabbit hunt. The dog pound was at the edge of town up in Mexico, Mo. and the escapees had formed a pack that roamed the woods behind it and the county landfill and occasionally they'd come into town. There was 11-12 of them and the "leader" was a big black 1/2 German Shephard looking guy (looked like a wolf). They took in after me and I started running, but I knew I couldn't make it back to my truck before they caught up with me. When they got about 30-40 yard from me I let ol'blackie have it right in the face with a load of #6's and he went down and started spasming, I fired my other 2 shots randomly into the mass of the pack and then took off running as fast as I could. When I got back to the truck I could still hear them yipping and barking. The next day 4 of us formed a posse and went (more properly armed) in search of the pack. Ol'blackie wasn't where I dropped him so he lived. 2 days later we set up a cassette predator call at the edge of the landfill and after about 30 minutes here they came. Ol'blackie finally got his by my buddy with a .30-30 and I dropped a mangy collie looking mutt with a load of #4 buckshot. The others cut and run before we could get another shot off. We tried again the next day, and then another time a couple days later but they wouldn't come to the call after that.

Difference between MDC access and State Park access I suppose. Both have certainly been paid for by taxpayer dollars so how they can justify it (to the taxpayers satisfaction) is a mystery. For myself, and all these jersey clad "pros" who have decided that fishing is a "business"....Well... It's a write-off. Just be sure to get receipts.

I reckon they can come over here and launch at Gravi where Tracker lives matter. ?
-
Oh they'll get their $10 launch fees. Guys with 40-80k boats surely aren't gonna let a ten-spot get in their way.
