  1. That fish in the first and third pics looks like a Signature series rainbow. For a second there I thought it spelled "Phil". See it ?
  2. Legal doesn't always mean "right". And it was my understanding that the " anglers" didn't keep any. Though they may have signed their consent (via the entry form) to have any fish they brought in kept by the host of the event. If that is the case then you are correct, nobody has a reason to complain. Not having a legal reason won't stop ME from complaining though, cuz I still think it was a poor choice made just for the chance to win a few bucks. Since you brought up the "legality" of things let's consider that IF the fish weren't released unharmed then anyone who culled a fish that day was stepping on the LEGALITY line pretty hard. Read your culling laws. Can I disregard the laws on culling if I merely give my best 5 fish of the day to my uncle Tom ?
  3. The place where those fish are going is closer to a natural setting than Bennett is. Folks will actually walk through grass/weeds to get to the shoreline.
  4. Yeah there's quite a few immature anglers out there. It's a short lived phase though so exploit it while you can because they grow out of it pretty quick.
  5. Chief, I'm sure you're probably familiar with Burnt mill spring on the Lil'Niangua. Have you heard/read the story behind that ?
  6. I'll see to it that you get an invite Something tells me that I'll be locking myself in the shop that day/night/whatever. Ness, The site was called "plentyoffish". Got on looking for fly patterns and ended up married. Nothing is sacred anymore, can't even hide from the hens on a fishing site.
  7. Oh for crying out loud. Shut up and tell us why those fish were held in quarantine and when they will be released back into the lake. Then you can go drink another Redbull.
  8. Junkie, There used to be a few airboats up around New London. Meeting one of those basturds on the river was never a pleasure. You could hear them coming for 5 miles though so you had plenty of warning.
  9. I'm just thinking that before a fishes digestive system could cycle through a belly full of mussels they'd die of malnutrition. Maybe I am underestimating how fast they can poop them buggers out ?
  10. TMI
  11. Have they released the fish from the last one yet ?
  12. We'll see I guess. :? She hasn't produced any homemade bread yet, so...
  13. I would think that fish who depended much on ZM for their diet would eventually starve themselves to death.
  14. Just for the record: I mentioned to my bride that y'all are passing around bread dough that has been kept "alive" for 50 years, and she claims you are all full of $#it.
  15. Becoming fitting too, it appears.
  16. No luck, at least not immediately. Ol'Everette might be better off than we assume. Maybe he's one of those old boys that have jars of cash stashed all over the place, yet lives like a pauper. He'd better surface pretty dam quick or I'm buying Wayne a pizza.
  17. Haven't noticed as single one around here yet. Kinda odd because our Mimosa's are usually full of them before the leaves ever start turning.
  18. 20 gal./day ? Surely you mean 20,000 ?
  19. I can't get that excited about pizza, but when all you bread enthusiasts start whipping up some world class biscuits and gravy I wanna be there.
  20. Agreed. I had kinda blown it off, so thanks for keeping it up. I know a guy that delivers propane, and another from the fire dept. Surely one of them will have something of use on record.
  21. Good skip tracing, Ness. I know a couple guys that might know a way to locate him. I'll throw out a line or two tomorrow.
  22. Ham, quite a few MDC lakes/ponds are stocked with them, at least up in this area they are. I have caught them as big as the mouth of a 5gal. bucket in 3 different MDC managed lakes. Shouldn't be too hard to scratch that one off your list this year if ya hurry.
  23. Sorry to hear that, Jim. Hang in there buddy.
  24. Absolutely, just takes a digital voltmeter. Red lead to + / Black to - (at the batt., or starter solenoid....whichever is easiest to get to). Operate the tilt/trim several times with the engine off (to pull battery voltage down a bit). Start the motor and observe the voltage climbing until it stabilizes (between 13.5 - 14v. Operate the tilt/trim with the engine running while observing the voltage result (it should pull down slightly then quickly recover after you stop activating the trim motor). Rev the motor up a bit (no more than 2500 rpm if you are just running it on muffs and a water hose with no load on the powerhead) and make sure that voltage never climbs to 15v or more. If it does then the regulator is failing.
  25. Just for clarity here, we are talking about a low income trailer park and a diner that MIGHT sell (on average) 3-5 plates of food per day. It ain't exactly a "Resort".
