  1. Ahh, so begging is what it takes! Who knew ?!!!!! Is it too late to start begging in the other direction ?
  2. Gotcha. Thx for clearing that up for me.
  3. Ha ! I'm telling ya..... this one isnt gonna fall for that elementary crap. This ain't no Wile E. Coyote we're dealing with here. The only thing that'll stop him is a set of Firestone's.
  4. Wow, what a spin.
  5. They aren't looking so good around here.(yet?) Can't tell if it's early or if conditions just aren't right for a decent wild harvest this year.
  6. Hmmm. 1. Unstrap from vehicle. 2. Carry yak to waters edge. 3. Unload fishing stuff and drinks/snacks from vehicle and arrange (just so) in yak. 4. Change clothes. 5. Secure vehicle and go paddling. ***Repeat steps 1 thru 5 in reverse when you're done. I'm not recognizing the ease of it all, in comparison. But T.E.T.O.
  7. They should just go ahead and turn it into a Rockbridge fee at the gate, plus charging by the pound. Might be incentive enough to raise a few more toads. Offset the price of that "high dollar fish chow".
  8. Ness !? Did Unice slap your hand again ?
  9. I haul back like I'm trying to start a chainsaw with bad gas. I've been hurt a few times but I live for nice firm hooksets. Sometimes I even do it in my sleep. Prolly why I never could stay married.
  10. I'm curious why the yak love ? Wouldn't a 14-16' (or even a 12') Jon boat be better, safer, more comfortable and efficient than a yak in that environment? Is it the "carry/drag in" ability that makes kayaks more popular around there ?
  11. Standing by to see who's the first to claim that they are the best eating fish that swims. In this case though.... they'd be correct.
  12. I always thought that most skunks were born full grown and dead on the road, usually during February. I can count the number of them I've seen alive and on their feet in my lifetime on one hand. Sneaky and smart critters IMO. I'm putting my money on the pole cat....you'll NOT catch him that easy.
  13. After all the crap that went into the ground here during/and after the tornado I'm afraid to. I dug it up again on that side of the tree and it is all dry underneath the bubbling goo hole so I don't understand whats going on. I am going to leave the roots exposed for awhile. I just wanna know if it's leaching out of the tree or coming up out of the dam ground. No signs of anything chewing on the roots.
  14. As hard as I've tried I just can't "warm up" to circle hooks. Not even for catfish. My mind just will not go there.
  15. It looks to me like something is digging there. I've filled it in several times but it just keeps opening back up. When you dig down it just goes to a big root about a foot deep, but there's no evidence of anything chewing on the root. I dunno, but it's weird.
  16. OK, well the file is too big....New phone/dumb operator. Ronnie....Help !
  17. I have a tree that is bubbling muddy goo up out of the ground. WTF is going on here? Is it a root leaking water? During the middle of the day when it's hot it actually stinks like there's something dead coming out of it. Pics not loading..... Hang on
  18. What stretch are you guys doing?
  19. You're inspired by my shoelaces? I hate my shoelaces, I have to do the kindergarten thing all the time just to keep my head off the ground.
  20. Standing by to see who's the first to swear that drum are absolutely delicious and the best tasting fish swimming in freshwater.
  21. Nice one! Any idea what the top three weights were? I'd expect 10-12# to be pretty respectable in a Gasconade river derby. Does it ever take more than that to win? I'd agree that a method of paper scoring would be better on ALL tournaments, but especially on med.sized rivers. But it is what it is. At least they DO get released, and modern boats have pretty good livewells so I can't get near as bent about river tournaments as I can about gigging. If you wanna see a fukton of dead smallies just take a look at the photos on Boiling Spring campgrounds website. At least the tourney guys actually DO care.
  22. OP, Next time you drive down South 8, stop on the little mill cr. bridge and look at what's swimming around in that little pool. They gotta go somewhere else in the Winter.
  23. Lmfao! Yep!
  24. My best LO smallie was a total freak from the rip rap at Coffman marina 1/2 way up the Osage. I guess ya just never know. Some folks camped at Greenmill on the Lil'Ni caught an impressive Northern Pike last Fall (they were calling it a Muskie....but it was definitely a Pike). Sadly it got dragged all over the campground showing it off and was dry and dead when they decided to "release" it.
  25. Who sits down to fish? Whaddaya goin' catfishin'?
