  1. Well you're screwed then, cuz ya done pissed in the only other bed that was offered to ya. šŸ˜‚
  2. They could make it 1.7lb. That's roughly what a skinny 15 incher weighs.
  3. Some people 1/4 mile down the road have a dachshund that follows them whenever they leave until they get out of sight. Every time they go by and that little dog goes hightailing it past here .... .Here come the Hawks. I think he's just barely big enough that they decide against it, but I'm afraid one of these days one of them is gonna go for it.
  4. Atta boy! I bought an additional 2.8 wooded acres that is next to me and I'm trying to get a squirrel population going around here. Doing some clearing and putting up feeders. We have a hawk problem that I'm not sure how to handle (legally). I had 4 grays visiting the feeders but lost one the other day. Hawks patrol the area and if anything crosses the road they zero in on it and here they come. Their success rate is astonishing. I wish I could give you about 6 of these bastards, they'd take care of your šŸ‡'s in no time.
  5. Well if Sugarbritches isn't coming, then who am I gonna spoon with? Speaking of squirrels. Season's open 😊
  6. So Boiling Springs Campground ? Never stayed there, but have fished that stretch before. Book us a string of sites along the river if you can. Want me to Venmo you some $ ? Pete, if you don't wanna mess with bringing a tent and all that mess you can bunk with me, I can bring an extra airbed. Just bring a sleeping bag and your favorite fluffy pillow. I don't snore or sleepwalk but I might fart once or twice.
  7. That's actually not true. #1 fact. Things made of rubber never did last forever. Nothing has changed. #2 fact. The biggest problem with fuel lines and tanks is the EPA mandated liners and one way vents these days. They are there to prevent seepage of vapor into the atmosphere.....or so they say. The real reason for them is to lengthen the shelf life of the fuel by sealing it off from the atmosphere. Those liners degrade even in water (doesn't even have to be fuel) and cause clogged/restricted fuel supply lines. Jets and/or injector components, fuel pump diaphragms, and fuel rail O-rings are 100% unaffected by alcohol in the fuel. But they do deteriorate over time....as they ALWAYS have, even before alcohol was ever introduced into fuel. Rubber never did last forever, and it still doesn't. So please stop blaming it on ethanol/alcohol.
  8. Prosperine up to Ho-Humm and back is alot of fun. I like from Moon Valley up about 1 1/2 miles. Good for a short day. The first 200 yards is a bit of a struggle, but after that it's great.
  9. Did to me too, I was just making sure. My wife and kids love the river too, but wouldn't wanna be the only ones there. I'll run solo.
  10. Somebody answer me about whether it's a guy trip or if any wives/kids are coming, so I can come properly staffed.
  11. Guess what one of the fastest powerboats in the country is. So again I ask "Why"? What could possibly be wrong with a cooler/cleaner burn that is less prone to detonation ? Not trying to be a smartass, I really don't know, and I probably should.
  12. I'm not doubting you, QB. I just have yet to see it.....and I'm skeptical about why everyone thinks it matters.
  13. From all the pics I've seen of them rafting logs on the Osage back in the day I'd say you're right. There are never pics of "giant" logs in the rafts, just pretty much all pole timber.
  14. I was born/raised in Audrain co. and I know some people in the biofuel business. I can tell you that the biofuel from MidAmerica BF in Mexico, Mo. and POET BF in Laddonia is sent by rail car directly to the major refineries, it is not sent to fuel distribution/storage facilities. So no "blending" of fuel takes place at storage/distribution centers. They may mix additives into the fuel at the time it is being loaded into semi-tankers, but I doubt they are doing any alcohol blending (or removing) at the distribution centers. I don't know for 100% certainty but I'm reasonably sure that there is no such thing as alcohol-free fuel at any gas station in the U.S. As I said before, I have tested fuel from A LOT of boats, all from guys (from all over the Midwest/mid-south) that swear they ONLY buy "non-ethanol fuel", and it ALWAYS tests 10% alcohol regardless of where it came from. And in spite of all the propaganda and popular belief.... there is nothing at all wrong with that. The only issue I ever see with fuel is when it is overly aged. 4 months old and I can tell something isn't right when adjusting fuel mixture screws on carbureted engines. Add fresh 10% and things straighten right up and engines respond to 1/4 turns of the mixture jets like they are supposed to. Every single time. Oh and while we're discussing this let me throw this lil'tidbit at ya....All you guys with "water separating fuel filters" are wasting your time/money. That filter is only gonna hold about 1/4 cup of water before it starts passing water right on to the engine. Add 1/4 cup of water to one tank of fuel and you'll never even know it....and neither will your motor, whether you have a W/S filter or not. So unless you change that filter every single tank of fuel....then WTF even bother? šŸ˜Ž So much rediculous FUEL BS going on in everyone's brains! Drives me crazy. Your fuel needs to be reasonably fresh..... That's all you need to know. All the rest of that crap that is being programmed into your brain is 100% hogwash. You don't need any additives, or stabilizers, or "ring free", or "Sea Foam" or any of that crap. Just fresh 87% fuel.
  15. I'd love to test some of you guys fuel which has "zero alcohol" in it. What color is a clear glass jar of it ? Regardless of how much corn your state grows or how much oil comes from your state....the fuel that you buy is refined where? There's only one pipeline from the refinery to the storage facilities, guys. No separate pipeline for non-ethanol fuel blends.
  16. What did they spray with, and why? There are a couple of places around here where 5-10 acres of trees are standing dead. I always wonder what happened there.
  17. Dang, that's a kick in the sack. WTH?
  18. Yeah the evidence of logging in my area is obvious. Finding a tree that you can't reach around is very rare here.
  19. Truly good ya think, or just having a good run ? When I think of truly awesome pro fishermen the only ones that always pop into my head are Nixon, Clunn, and VanDam. And I don't think anyone will argue that Clunn has been the best ever, so far as a guy that can do it all, anywhere, and do it consistently. I wonder if there will ever be another guy like him.
  20. I won't disagree with that. There's no need for "flood control" if you just let floods be floods everything works out just fine.
  21. Any wives and kids ? Or is this just a guy thing? I'm happy either way.
  22. Not really. The Osage above Warsaw, after the logging, was nothing but a giant meandering sand filled ditch.
  23. I'm due ! Make some plans and I'll be there.
  24. In all honesty that stretch of river wasn't much to get excited about.
