  1. I drove through PA once. Beautiful place! Georgous streams! I bet the winters are a bit'ch illy though.
  2. Whew! Bluffed my way out of that one. 🤭
  3. According to the guage the river level is right where I like to see it. I need to go ASAP.
  4. It kinda indicates that channel and blue cats behave like turkeys. Large groups of them will move in and occupy a certain area for a short while, then move on somewhere else. Kinda like you guys that keep traveling all over the place. Even though everything you need is right where you are. You just always feel that the grass is greener elsewhere, I reckon. 😎
  5. I called the number and he answered right away. I told him he was being spoken of on here and he said "yeah I know".
  6. I have a customer that has 6 lines off his dock, just hanging down at different depths and he keeps them baited and checked several times a day. He'll go weeks without catching anything.....then for a week straight he will absolutely load the freezer every single day. No ryhme or reason why.
  7. Fishing reports are everywhere, you either believe them or you don't. The fact that you are seeking out reports shows that you probably feel that you can't catch them very good right now, so even a big fat lie can generate some confidence and do you no harm.
  8. Has a very small blemish on one blade, hardly noticable/certainly usable. 250.00
  9. Nothing but 4 Mercs and 1 Nissan here now. I haven't been out since Thanksgiving, but I got 5 Benjamin's that say I can go out tomorrow in the sleet and rain and beat ya by more than a pound. Wanna Bet? 😁
  10. My dad pulled one with a 1/2 ton Chevy Big 10. He never had any problems. That 454 was a beast!
  11. There are several ways you can determine the quality of a battery using nothing but a digital voltmeter. One way is to hook up a 10amp automatic charger and a voltmeter to the battery. Note the voltage, then plug in the charger and observe how it cycles. The auto charger should run it up to around 15v then shut down until voltage falls back to 13 or a little less, then it will kick back on and run it up to 15 again (over and over). The length of time those cycles take to shift should gradually decrease until the lower voltage stabilizes above 12.8ish. If that doesn't happen then your battery is on it's last leg. Once fully charged unhook the charger and let it sit overnight. Voltage tomorrow should be 12.8 or above. If it is then turn something on for 10-20 seconds to put a load on it (crank the engine, or in the case of deep cycles... turn the trolling motor on high) and observe how the voltage drops down, and then recovers after the load has been turned off. The value of that will give you an idea of what you can expect the battery to do, and how long you can expect it to last. Never go by the ammeter on the battery charger because that tells you nothing about the condition of the battery. It can actually be misleading because a bad battery will show as FULLY CHARGED when the reality is that it simply will not accept any more charge. Make sense?
  12. A "segue" yes, but "very strange"? We are still talking batteries ! Hell, some threads start off about fishing line and end up being a discussion about shoveling snow. Why does THIS ONE gotta be "strange"?
  13. There's a huge difference between 5 ton and 16 ton. Where did they come up with those numbers. Must be "new math". I guarantee they will be driving the stocking truck over it. That thing full of water is gonna be heavier than any RV I'd think.
  14. It wasn't table food that caused it. We butchered a doe and he got carried away with the trimmings. The idiot needs to learn to slow down and chew his food !
  15. Nope, standard 20" shaft
  16. That's what I'm talking about ! I'm halfway there. Gimme 4 D's and I could go to places where few men could follow. 🤩
  17. C'mon now, don't stomp my ego completely into the ground.🙉 Can we be a little more PC here for 2019 and politely just say "compact & discreet"?
  18. I'll never admit defeat. But I did notice that AA batteries were on the top of her Snowpocolypse shopping list. There's only 2 things around here that take those, and I seriously doubt that there's any concern for the Mag-lite in my tool box.
  19. That yellow parasite hanging off his shoulders is not gonna make him very attractive to the ladies come Spring. Would you wanna date anyone with a house arrest bracelet ?
  20. Yeah I didn't care much for that either. Pretty classless, but you put me on the spot while I was being ordered to clean up dog puke. It was a quick shot from the hip.
  21. I don't care how you mount it, just don't leave jizz on the CDC.
  22. Well thanks, but it's only funny because of where it was said. What you say in front of your buddies while grilling burgers is not nearly as funny as the same thing said in church. 😄
  23. No 110 volt Sibians allowed here. We have a 1.5 volt max in this house. Anything more powerful would make ME unnecessary.
  24. It might be a bit premature but I replace my own TM batteries every other year. It's cheap insurance that you'll never have a precious fishing day ruined, and I've seen a double-truckload of trolling motors with burnt windings and crusty brushes from running on low voltage. You asked.....but knew beforehand that you were not willing to "start fresh", so go for it. The cost of fresh brushes, seals, and a new armature is 380.00 plus labor (2.7 hrs.) I have kids to put through college, so please holler when she "just doesn't have the power she used to have, and sucks the batteries dead in 1/2 the time it used to". 😊
