  1. Eww Bummer ! Yep, I'm on my wife and kids all the time about those #@&k1n flip-flops. A nail head sticking up 1/8" caused my flip-flop wearing oldest daughter to bust her face wide open. And my wife and youngest kid trip and fall all the time.....yet they just LOVE their stupid azz flip flops. Everytime one of them takes off running across the yard or driveway I cringe. But they won't listen.
  2. Alrighty then. Just accept the fact that "tuning the drag" on that reel is like sighting in a .22 cal. rifle at 75 yards on a windy day. Tomorrow you're gonna be high and left.
  3. Well the news of a fighter jet is a bit odd since air traffic control all initially reported that no aircraft capable of such speeds was anywhere in our vicinity at that time. Are they not required to announce their flight path or able to be detected on radar ? That's a bit troubling for anyone considering air travel isn't it ? Isn't air traffic control supposed to know about everything that's up there whistling around ? For the air force to come in later and say "yeah that was us, we were just out for a test run", is a bit of a WTF!
  4. Yeah the conspiracy of requiring scanners to read fault codes is a dirty rotten trick. Those codes could be easily displayed right next to the SES light or converted to flash codes like the early 90's Chevy's did. Same can be said for the fault codes on outboard computer controlled systems. They just want someone "qualified" to service the unit for warranty liability protection. That's all well and good as long as the consumer doesn't have to pay extra for it. But they do.
  5. Wow, I don't remember them being that pricey. What was the retail on a new Penob back in the Royalex days ?
  6. ? That is exactly what lead me into this career field. I was either going to have to learn how to outfish everyone on the planet, or I was going to have to become a quality boat service guy. At first I thought I could do both....but I quickly saw where that was leading me. If all outboards were the same (and they stayed that way awhile) then outboard techs could be bought pretty cheap, but the constant studying and testing different theory's on various designs makes it more of a lifestyle than a "job". If you don't eat, sleep, and breathe it then you are nothing but a guesser and a parts changer, and you'll never make it. Even aviation techs have it easier than outboard mechanics.
  7. That sounds a bit steep. Can't recall what they sold for when new though. Al?
  8. Chicken poop is like 2nd generation POOP. Just watch a yard full of chickens sometime. One will poop and the next one behind him will scarf it right up. That's just nasty right there. I love where this thread is going. ?
  9. Noway, I've got things to accomplish today. ?
  10. That was educational, thanks. So whatever it was must have been travelling E-NE. I'm glad I wasn't doing a cylinder drop test on an engine when that boom happened, I would have hurt myself bad.
  11. Drain the lower gear lube. The bottom plug will have a magnet on it. See if there is any metal on the magnet or any signs of metal in the lube. How's the prop, prop hub, and prop shaft? Post a pic of the lower so we can see the suspected damage.
  12. It was all because of the Geese ! Nasty critters.
  13. Wasn't it funny how they started taking water samples and testing here (because bygod people deserved to know....and we care about them). Then when all the negative press began forcing beaches closed and the local economy feared a loss then the testing immediately came to a screeching halt. Nobody deserves to know anymore. E coli is good for you. It's the new Gluten. Avoiding it makes you a pussy.
  14. Psychopaths with too much money.
  15. I still use the old style 100mph vest, but if I was showing up at tournaments I'd have to own a Mustang just so I wouldn't feel inferior. I think I feel safer in the old school vests. And since I intend to never need it it's hard to shell out the bucks for an inflatable.
  16. A little poop is good for ya. Look at what a picture of health I am. I don't need no stinking doctors, just gimme some more poo poo.
  17. When I was a kid my brother and I were running around the house being rambunctious, and we had a little tremor that shook the house pretty good. We froze in our tracks, eyes as big as horse turds, and my mom looks at us and says "See what you did...now SETTLE DOWN". We did too.
  18. So it just BOOMS it's way across the sky ? If so then why don't we hear echos ? I was under the impression that it only boomed once at the moment that a certain acceleration speed was achieved. Like a bullwhip or a bullet.
  19. I can't buy the sonic boom theory/excuse because according to what I can find about "boom coverage" it would have had to be something flying super sonic at an elevation equal to 700 miles above the earth in order to have been heard over that great of a distance. How many tens of thousands of feet are in 700 miles ? Do we fly that high? Surely not.
  20. Official news report is saying that it was a sonic boom but no aviation outfit, including the military, is owning up to it. I'm not agreeing with that. It wasn't the jet type sonic boom that I'm familiar with anyway. And it covered a really large area.
  21. Warranty on the powerhead is honored by yours truly The original powerhead failed from water in the oil injection system. One cylinder was sleeved and all new pistons, bearings, and seals were installed, as well as a new water pump. All cylinders are standard bore. Should make someone a fantastic boat. I'd be happy to answer any questions regarding the engine if needed. 573-569-5406
  22. You didn't hear it at Richland? That's odd. It shook buildings in Jeff city and supposedly as far away as Joplin (according to FB posts).
  23. Shook my whole house so I turned on the scanner. Sounds like they got reports from areas 100 miles away. Some are saying sonic boom but I remember those from when I was a kid and this thing sounded like a giant explosion. Who all heard it ?
