  1. Recipes like that crack me up. Would it even matter what kinda meat you started with? The recipe should just say...."Kill something (anything), then...."
  2. Whereabouts is it located?
  3. Yeah the annual "Shootout" never fails to give everyone a dose of hotrod fever. From a week prior to a couple weeks afterwards the mid-lake area is full of people trying to fulfill their need for speed, which is fine if you're an experienced operator and know your boat. That's not always the case though.
  4. Kinda looks to me like Stud made a trim tab mistake. That's what he was "blipping". But whaddo I know
  5. Saw a bassboat hit a pillar of the grand glaize bridge once, luckily it was only at a fast idle speed but it still crunched pretty hard destroying the trolling motor and the whole nose of the boat back to about 2 feet. I assume that he was putting along jacking with his electronics and just forgot there was a 2000 ton piece of concrete in the vicinity. Dude, if you're reading this I really felt bad for ya.... but I gotta confess that I laughed about that off and on all day. Sorry but WTF? LOL
  6. We hit it hard today in the Gravois and only had one solid fish, and darn few shorts considering how much area was covered. Thought about launching out of Mallard bay this morning but glad I didn't now, since it sounds like the funk is lakewide. Noticed lots (tons) of grasshoppers today. Time to put the pitchin' gear away for a bit and hit the creeks with the flyrod and foam bugs.
  7. The headwaters of the Miss. and all of its tribs should keep you busy for awhile.
  8. Yeah whenever a storm is brewing they go all apocaliptic. But on a normal day they'll tell you the wind will be a lovely 8-10mph breeze out of the SSW.... then when you get out on the water it blows at 20+ Never fails.
  9. Be darn if I'd get into a gun fight over some money that's insured, and isn't even mine. What makes ya think someone is gonna walk up on ya and try to take it, verses taking you out from 50-60 yards and grabbing the loot on their way out of there? Wouldn't that be the way to take something from a dude that's wearing a leather jacket in the middle of July?
  10. Has anyone taken the initiative to tear one down and learn what is causing them to seize up? I'm not a Shimano guy but I'll take a few SWAG's.... Spool shaft level-wind hydraulic lock? (drill a tiny vent hole so it can push the moisture out). One way bearing hanging up or skidding? (squeeze it just a bit so that the cage is not perfectly round, or pry out just one of the needles) You should be able to remove the head/bail assembly and substitute a washer or something similar in its place to determine if the binding is in the drive, or the driven mechanism.
  11. Chief, LMFAO ! Took a few seconds, then it hit me.
  12. It was sporting. It's all fun and games until somebodys weiner falls off
  13. I'm beginning to think that FFer is actually anti-CCW, posing as an advocate to drive home the undeniable points made by several on here. I'm done.....again.
  14. Oh I understand why. It has to do with that opinion of mine that you disapprove of. I see that kinda crap all the time and that's why I know that a large margin (too large) of folks that CCW, shouldn't be.
  15. IF we get what everyone seems to think we'll get, it'll pull them out of their Summer holes and put them on a killer shallow bite for about 2 weeks on the lakes. The rivers, once they become fishable again will fish decent on the lower stretches, and poor on the upper reaches. I'm skeptical about any significant amount of rain in my area of the state. Isaak seems to be a media pimped topic more than anything. "Stay Tuned"!
  16. Regardless of who compiled that list, Which one of those CCW incidents would you care to dispute first ? If there were anywhere close to an equal number of crimes thwarted, or people saved by CCW holders I could be alot more tolerant of the idea. But my crappy opinion is still that it is a stupid pointless, and potentially dangerous head game. Keep one in your truck if you choose, but carrying it around in your underwear just cuz you can is freakin stupid.
  17. Right. Playing a game... and most of the pieces are missing. If your real motive was to protect yourself and your family and be prepared, then you'd all be sporting kevlar and helmets, walking around looking like little gladiators....But you don't because that's uncomfortable and makes you feel like an idiot. But packing the gun, that feels cool.
  18. I know, they are so humanlike, hu?
  19. Yeah me too, but it's only 1/2 mile to the water.
  20. Dry rot usually gets to mine long before the tread is gone. But I can usually get 3 years out of them.
  21. LMAO! This comment cracked me up At least he gets to exercise that outrageous guide insurance. I'd take the money for a replacement fender, then do a hammer and bondo job on it..... might cover next months premium.
  22. Not a HANDGUN, No. But a trusty ol' iron sighted Thutty-Thutty and a Winny 1200 loaded with 3" #4B's ? Sure! Hope there's plenty of buzzards then, cuz I ain't touching them even after their dead.
  23. Yep, and he's lucky she lacked more imagination ! Greasy, bet that incident never made the news. Wow, I have seen similar, but not with near enough witnesses.
  24. Gavin's pic brought back a fond memory. I once rode a canoe down a sledding path (called Widowmaker hill). I thought I'd be able to steer by dragging the paddle on one side or the other.... still not clear on why that doesn't work. The plan was to get a hilarious video to stick on TY, but the canoe got sideways, I tried to "rudder it back straight" and rolled. I almost broke my neck so I didn't try a second run. Being in a kayak though, with your butt closer to the ground it should work great.
  25. Oh I gotta hear this! What were you reported to have done that caused them to draw down on you without a questioning session first? ,....................................................................................................... The situation that I'm most curious about is; What happens when you are carrying and someone engages you in a fist fight? Ya know, cuz you allegedly touched his girlfriends butt as she passed by, or whatever. Do you defend yourself physically with your hands and feet, or do you go for the pistol in fear that he might get it from you during the scrap? That's a real world situation, right? And one where you're probably better off without the gun.
