  1. Really? You don't see the leading nature in which that letter was composed? Who would describe the options in that manner? A. Someone committed to representing their clients constitutional rights . Or B. Someone looking to satisfy a prosecutor and pass on a case where he would actually have to do some work. Or C. A true saint of a lawyer who knows the probable outcome, yet chooses not to take some easy cash from a middle class individual, out of the goodness of his heart.
  2. It's hell to have to apologize to your dog when you loose a fish, ir are just having a slow day. Reminds me of a pointer my Dad had that if you missed a bird would look at you as if to say, "oh c'mon, seriously? ".
  3. We could do one of those anytime, could even do one every month. I'm in. I doubt that Phil would want it happening on here though.
  4. Just to be 100% clear..... does their case revolve around where you accessed the creek, or because you got out of your canoe while floating through his property? Your lawyer is clearly trying to steer you away from trial.... and he is acting in the prosecutors behalf, not yours. I hope you haven't paid that jackass a dime yet. I'm broke as a joke right now but shouldn't be for much longer, I'm good for 100.00 sonetime before April 1st.
  5. If we go length you can score your best 10 fish that are 12"+ (actually your partner scores them for you) If we weigh in then its the best 5 that are 15"+, and you have to babysit them all day and include dead fish penalties into the rules. My vote would be to keep it simple and easy on the fish...and us. but I do have access to a set of digital scales.
  6. Then again.... you CAN agree to those terms and have charges dropped, then just "not go on Praters property'.... after they tell you FOR SURE what is HIS property. which means you still have the same rights on the creek as you assumed you did, unless they can prove differently. Not too sure that isn't the best move, way cheaper too.
  7. Obvious from his wording that he has NEVER been to trial. What you have there, Sir Chief, is a local plea bargaining douche of a lawyer that is in the habit of "working things out" with that particular prosecutor. Oh man, I have so played that game before and it makes my blood boil. He is assuming, and banking on you not having 1500.00 at your disposal. I wish I could see his face when you say...."Thanks, I'm going to trial, but you're not.....cuz you don't know your way there"
  8. I'm thinking late May, early June ? Paper score= most inches/10 fish...or weigh them ? Talk to me
  9. Lookin' good. Freelance bass bug tying is a hoot.
  10. Guess it depends on where in LO you plan to fish. Don't think I'd wanna fish Shawnee bend, but the Buffalo's, Niangua's or Cole camp wouldnt be bad. Ideally though we'd have enough guys with boats. I know of 4 so far, maybe 5.
  11. Post'em up, lets see'em.
  12. Oh the Mako is "lookin" amazing..... just not as amazing as it could look if it was in My possession.
  13. Hey, the drunker the competition, the better, far as I'm concerned. I'll take every edge I can get Blow over .08 on this lake though and the winner will have to cover your bail.
  14. Are the TK rods real soft? You'd probably be surprised how much pressure you could put on a big fish with 4-5x if the rod was soft enought to cushion all the sudden burst of energy. Ever tried hooking a fly to a solid object and flexing the rod slowly until the tippet breaks? Then again, if its too soft he'll just run you out until your rod is pointed straight at him and it'll be game over. Not sure I'd be down with all the decent fish in Crane and Mill wearing mouth jewelry from past Tenkara encounters. Naa, I'm with Brian S. it's a passing fad at best, I kinda hope.
  15. True enough, best scenario would probably be a draw format with 50/50 control of the boat, similar to the old BASS federation qualifier events.
  16. Sweet, Ive secured a partner?
  17. I could host one, and will, here on LO if there's enough interest. Speak up and I'll get a regatta permit applied for and work up some rules.
  18. Actually no, not at all. Airheads are constructed of all non-absorbent material, whereas Deadheads are all absorbant material. To get really technical, Airheads glide forward and to one side or the other on pauses like a fluke or sluggo does, but Deadheads just stop dead on a pause with only the collapsing pressure behind them causing a brief moment of tail movement. Deadheads are more suited to deeper presentations with sink-tip or sinking lines....Airheads are for surface waking or slightly sub-surface visual presentations. Pretty confusing until you actually spend some time catching fish on them, then it all comes together.
  19. A new record? Not even close, yet. LOL Your contribution to the nanny-boo helps get it there though.
  20. Ok, good point. I guess I just assumed that since the only people I have talk to that are aware of the impending ban are river fishermen. Coon hunters, snaggers, giggers, bass tourney guys, casual boaters ect. have had no idea so far... until I mentioned it to them. Our local newspaper even published their annual "Upcoming trout fishing opener" article the other day, and failed to mention the new pourus sole ban. I assume because the writer of the piece either doesnt actually fish, or just changed the dates on last years stock article. Plenty of folks aren't gonna know until they see the new signs at the Parks on their first trip of the year. Not all fishernen eat, live, and breath this stuff 24/365 like we do.
  21. When you refer to the "forum thugs" in your future podcasts, dont forget to realize that it is not the advertisers but the "frequent contributers" who form the community here. Nobody ever hears anything from You until You have somethng that You wanna promote. The rest of us are here making noise, offering different viewpoints, answering questions, and creating entertainment every dam day.
  22. Somewhere within the "navigable" determination are the words "used for commerce". By definition that includes any stream that is or has been mined for minerals or gravel...... and that opens up just about every single stream in the state, as I understand it. Can a person not file an appeal without an attorney? And if so, is there a "fee" for filing one? The tributary's of our impoundments pose what I consider a valid question, even with gray law. At which point are you no longer sure of being on a public waterway when navigating up a tributary arm?
  23. Yep, those flip-flop wearing heathens prolly haven't heard the podcast. Somebody should go spam their facebook pages to inform them. Naw, not really.... they are only gonna hassle you if you have a fishing rod in your hand. Otherwise they'd be informing EVERYONE of the ban, instead of just the fishermen. Trappers and waterfowl hunters havent a clue either I'm guessing, unless they also fish.
  24. Opportunity knocks, go get ya some. I doubt anyone would mind.
  25. I know, right? It's all those darn people who think independantly, they always ruin everything.
