  1. I just replaced the cylinder seals on my boat and the ones on a friend's boat last year pretty straight forward and easy to replace.
  2. Went out driving around today most coves are iced over. I noticed while driving across Nemo bridge that there was thin ice all the way across the lake just south of the bridge in front of the campground.
  3. Been under the weather the last few days but finally got out and drove around today. Never seen any ice anywhere that I went today. But I'm sure that may change the next few days. Did hear today that there is some ice in the upper arms of the lake but I didn't go that far so can't say for sure.
  4. Want to wish all the Pomme fishermen and all the other members of OAF a very merry Christmas and a happy New year.
  5. I went out this morning for a few hours fished channel swing banks and humps with jerk bait and a jig with no luck. Think some sun would have made it better. But if you're wanting to catch some Crappie they were still hitting good on the brush pile that I tried in 18 fow and most were keepers. Water temp was 49°
  6. I tried fluorclear about 5 years ago. I fished one tournament and a couple times just out fishing and took it off all my reels. It kept breaking on the hook sets.
  7. Hope everyone has a wonderful day with family and friends. Hope to see some of you on the lake. Looks like a few good days next week got some deer in the freezer may have to chase bass for awhile.
  8. Hope each and every one of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving
  9. This boat runs great and he is open to any reasonable offer.
  10. I'm a big fan of braid on my crappie rod, been using it for the last 5 years. It seems to me like it almost doubles your ability to feel the bite.
  11. You're right no reason to cut corners on the trolling motor.
  12. Looked on SEI website I couldn't find a complete lower unit for this motor. I alsochecked into the GLM gear sets but when I called to check on them they said they didn't have one for that motor. Hoped they would they were about half price.
  13. Yeah I am going to replace pinion nut. And didn't use a pipe wrench I used a crescent wrench on the flat for the water pump key and a box end wrench on the nut. Its actually a 2:1 13/26 I have checked into a rebuilt lower unit but I can do it myself for about half the price of a rebuilt one.
  14. If you are around Springfield area Marine repair center more than likely has everything you need.
  15. No problem glad I could help
  16. There should be no water getting into the motor housing. I would clean the housing good where the o-rings seal replace the o-rings and the seal on the prop shaft. It won't last long if it keeps getting water in it water and electric motors don't go well together. Also check the end caps for any cracks.
  17. I figured it was pretty low hours they bought it from a lady I know and she only had it a couple years and she bought it from an elderly gentleman that bought it new and just used it to drift fish on Taneycomo. Will talk to my folks think they only have liability but not sure. It's on a pontoon they bought this summer. Parts are pretty pricey, boats.net has about the best prices I have found.
  18. Had to run out to the shop so took a quick picture. Reverse gear needs to be replaced also but it just has a few minor nicks.
  19. Ok I will post some pictures in the morning. I have to go out to the shop and take some.
  20. Well I appreciate your response that was the only purpose I could see for it to be there.
  21. We have the lower unit on my dad's 1996 40 hp force torn down and I was wondering what purpose does the big spring right above the pinion gear and bearing on the drive shaft serve. Only thing I can think of is to spin the oil back down to the bearing.
