  1. Up in Canada we threw buzzbaits for them in the reeds and could always get one to attack. Also caught quite a few on suspending stickbaits, better use a steel leader, I had a few steal my high dollar stickbaits when I was throwing for walleye.
  2. Nice crappie, big mouth on that thing.
  3. My father in law had the foot pedal stolen for his trolling motor. It is an older motor guide that has electronic steering as opposed to the push/pull type pedal. I don't have the model info, but do you think we can another one?
  4. My buddy's boy caught that smallie (with help from dad on a kiddie rod) and then I caught another. Ned rig from shore, pretty windy though.
  5. That last spot is a fatty. Nice job, looks fun.
  6. Ha! Love the hashtags.
  7. Why would someone steal the pin to your hitch? (I'm not implying that it didn't happen). That almost has to be someone's idea of a joke, a dangerous and sick joke, but I don't see why they would do that otherwise. That isn't going to bring much money at the recycler.
  8. This may not be good covering water extremely quickly, but for fishing weedy/mossy areas, like ponds I like to use a weightless slug-go. Extremely weedless and catch fish.
  9. I read it as 1 foot every 3 seconds.
  10. Nice report. I really like the looks of those fish. Good color to those largemouth and that dark smallie.
  11. I set this one free. 6#.
  12. I do prefer a shorter rod for shooting because with a longer one you need to make sure to stay back so you don't knock the end of the rod on the dock or other obstacles. Basically, a shorter one works better for me in tight spots.
  13. If your idea of "baiting" only involves hooks and tackle, you may an OAF member. If you only like the big girls, you may be an OAF members.
  14. It was over 6# on digital scales really close to the KS record at the time (14 years ago or so). My dad and I caught about 25 sallies that day and all were 12-14" except that one.
  15. Just had to share the biggest smallie I ever caught. I caught it in Kansas and have been to Canada several times and caught some nice ones there up to 4 lbs or more, but the biggest one was right in my "backyard" so to speak
  16. Sounds like fun. I am jealous. Good luck.
  17. Do you recall how to get Bo's video that you mentioned?
  18. Missed it already. I never many people talking about it too much this year.
  19. I was wondering if anybody has had any buzzbait luck yet, and what traditionally is the temp that bite really kicks in.
  20. What size plopper were you using? Where were you throwing it. I tried it some the last few days and never had a bite on it
  21. We got out for a couple of hours this morning and I caught this 17" smallie on a ned. Headed back to Kansas City now, unfortunately today seems like it would be the best day yet.
  22. Today was pretty slow again for us. Did catch a pretty spot. Couldn't get much of a pattern. Caught the nice spot off a breakwater. Caught some small smallie a in 25' of water or so on a ned. Threw the whopper plopper and everything else I own and very minimal results. I have ended up losing about 5 spotted bass on a war eagle spoon. They just seem to throw it when I hook them. Maybe I need to set it a lot harder than I have been, but have been reluctant with 6 lb test to set the hell out of it.
  23. No, we were up in long creek
  24. Well we fished from about 11:00am to 5:00pm. It was pretty bad. I caught three short smallmouth and lost one keeper and hooked into and fought another that I lost that felt pretty nice. I caught the smallie a on a ned near bluff type banks where they transitioned into chunk rock about 15-20ft deep. Lost the two nice ones on a spoon. I threw it all today. Not a sniff on the plopper. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. At least it was nice weather!
