  1. Sounds like a nice day and good results. I'll be at the 7MM this weekend bass fishing. We'll see how it goes.
  2. I say fishfinder, and I fish, just sayin. I sure as hell don't imaging system or whatever the hell he said. I guess you didn't get it though.
  3. "My Hummingbird imaging device", who says that? You mean fishfinder? Sounds like he was reading off of a cue card. It just struck me as funny how he worded that, I am not calling bs or anything, just saying it sounded funny.
  4. I can see the merit in having any of the rods mentioned above, my main thing is to have at least two with you in case one craps out or breaks or sinks, anything might happen and you would be upset if you didn't have a backup.
  5. I will bet at TR from 3-28 to 4-1, and I am very excited. I was wondering one thing though, am I flat out wasting my time if I don't use an A-rig? That is the only aspect of the A-rig that doesn't sit well with me. It appears that if you don't use it you may as well not even fish. I know I am being a bit simplistic (obviously you can catch fish on something else), but I have seen this happen at LOZ. They are saying that if you are in a tourney, you better throw the A-Rig or else don't even enter, for some reason that is depressing to me (I don't fish tourneys by the way). If that's the case what chance does an average guy like me have if I'm not using it? Does it come down to the old addage "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"?
  6. Wow, Nice Hog Bill! I am headed down March 28th and can't wait to get some solid fishing time in on Table Rock. I pretty much only fish LOZ, but I make it TR a couple times a year ond love it. I seem to do better at TR than LOZ, it may not be as pressured as the Gravois and lower lake where our lake house is. Plus I love smallies, can't wait.
  7. Isn't the reason that these baits cost from $15-$25 because they suspend perfectly, (I know it ain't because they are so durable!). I realize that water temp affects the suspending action too. I was using a Rick Clunn (Megabass clone) at LOZ, and couldn't get it any deeper than about 5'. Maybe it doesn't need to get any deeper I don't know, but if I start weighting it won't it not suspend, which I thought was the reason they caught fish so well in the first place. I also like the fact that if you get hung up and it's no deeper than about 5' you have a chance at saving it most times too. I broke out the lucky craft pointers too and they got to about 6' or so.
  8. I saw that show too. I wonder one thing though, did he set out to only fish cranks that day for a crankbait show, or if he would have used something else would he have done better? Or use a few techniques instead of just cranking. I know I rarely set out to just use one bait, but I am no KVD, so what do I know. Maybe I should just use one thing and I would do better.
  9. I hope everyone down there is ok today. You are in our prayers.
  10. Nice looking boat.
  11. I REALLY like that!
  12. I like that!
  13. Sounds good, I'll be down this weekend, maybe bassin', but I'll report back no matter what happens.
  14. I agree that is disturbing. Is the length limit on the Nianuga the same as Table Rock or LOZ? I bet it takes quite a while for a river smallie there to get that big. Unfortunatley they are aggressive and apparently to the right people (or wrong, i should say), that can be their demise.
  15. Thanks for the reply. I am mainly thinking about places to go in the summer when LOZ is too rough to get a bass boat on. Sounds like it might not be that great after all.
  16. Are there many smallmouth caught in this stretch? Also could you use a jon boat with prop motor? If the answer to my previous question is no, how far up the river could someone go from HaHaTonka? I love river fishing and have not been in this section though I have floated the typical canoe rental spots up by Bennett and had success for smallies. Thanks for any info you might have.
  17. I don't have any info, but I am also interested in that area. I would think there are some smallmouth to be caught up there. I would also imagine you would need a flatbottom boat to get around that far up river.
