I didn't know where the 12" limit stopped it use to be at the galena bridge because after that it is considered tablerock lake.

Sure they weren't 12" fish? I have seen several people keeping short fish this year majority of them have been JRO floaters, There are a few locals around here who are pretty stupid to put it nicely but i think the length limit above the bridge is 12"

What Do You Consider To Be A "catch"?

If you get your hands on the leader it is by rules a catch, If they throw the hook with your hands on the leader i would just call it a clean release. -

I have been known to fish live bait a time or two I love lip hooking river shiners and drifting them through brush piles, I originally used just a regular 2/0 j hook but I have moved to octopus hooks set up with a Stinger ( tired of missing them pesky smallmouth) JK i have caught up with the times and use circles with live bait. Got ya good Smalliebigs : ) There are very few fish i don't eat but smallmouth are one of them, If i wanna eat fish I will kill some catfish or bluegill.

I started fly fishing because i wanted to look cool. Plus i can throw smaller jigs and flys when the whitebass are feeding on tiny springtime minnows. -

could be wrong but i don't think crane creek is a navigable waterway.

I use palomar for my heavier hooks when I'm catfishing, Rapala knot for jerk/swim baits, And just about everything else i use improved clinch. I do like the palomar a lot but i have not tried it on light line and i have never had a priblem with improved clinch so long as I tied it correctly.

As of last week our females had big orange eggs and the bite was slow and lite. I was using 3-5 inch green sunfish and cut shad the only 3 cats i caught were on the shad smallest was about 4lb biggest was rite at 10.
