  1. Since there was no mail call Monday because of the holiday it was nice to go to the mailbox today and find these!
  2. Some of them are from the go pro and some from my phone. I got some of the catches videoed on my go pro but my sd card was messed up and had a hard time reading when I thought it was recording. Over the next week I'm going to try to do some editing and put together a video.
  3. Champ the water temp was 43-44 and got up to 45 on Saturday. abekeenan I had too. Those spots would stick out like a sore thumb and they have been holding bigger fish lol. And you are right ghost Norman flake. I was using a pointer earlier that seemed to work better but lost it in the brush pile. I used a megabass on Saturday since they were shallower.
  4. Sorry for the late report but I've been busy the last few days. Fished the dam area on Friday and Saturday and had two awesome days. On Friday I pulled up to a secondary point to start out and caught 3 nice fat keeper K's on 3 consecutive cast. After that the location was done. Moved to a main lake point and caught this nice fat smallmouth. Biggest one I have caught in while. Its belly was about to pop and it had some shoulders Few cast later I caught this nice LM. I was casting the jerkbait in about 5 ft and getting it down deep right on the bottom back to the boat. Some strikes were shallow others were out deeper up to 20 ft. Moved down to a secondary point with a brushpile I located and caught a big LM and 3 other nice ones from the location. Those were in 20 ft around the pile. Got the jerkbait down there on a long cast and 10 sec pauses. It was a great day. Probably had a little of 20 lbs. All were caught on jerkbait some shallow and others out on the bottom by cover or structure. Saturday the fish were sit up different. I couldn't really get bit in those type of locations and had to fish the windy points. I was scratching my head at first but moved up shallow and started to catch them. Once that wind got kicked up it moved the fish really shallow and stacked them up in certain areas. I caught a bass on 7 consecutive casts on one spot and they were all in less than 5 ft of water ganged up. Great weekend got to mess around with the go pro and try and figure out some things on it which is very difficult at first haha. Hopefully it will warm up soon so we can all get back out there.

  6. Bill I remember before you saying something about chompers jig heads. Do you use the brush jigs that have a weed guard. I have been using the slider jig heads that have an offset hook so you can bury the hook in to keep them weedless.
  7. I think it will be won on a Jerkbait and whoever decides to stick with it and only get 5-6 bites a day Will probably catch the better fish. Can't rule out good jig fisherman like Pace and Davis. It is going to be brutal out there and whoever can stay in the game mentally will have the best chance.
  8. I picked of 5 v37s on eBay for $65. Seemed like the best deal I have found in a while but still feel bad spending that much in them.
  9. Nice job. Way to get after them. That's a nice K for sure
  10. It was weird yesterday. I think the fish are starting to move a lot. Looked for deep fish and couldn't find any shad or fish to speak of. That was a waste of money on ice jigs on Friday haha. I couldn't catch more than one or and two fish out of a location if I was lucky. Fish here and there. I will say I love the rock crawler. I was making long cast with 10lb line and ticking bottom up to 14 ft.
  11. Got the boat out of storage finally. Got out about 830 Saturday morning and caught some K's and LM around docks and points. Just looked for some chunky rock with deep water close by. Total was about 15 for the day I believe with 2 SM in the mix. All keepers except 1 K. Caught most fish on jerkbait and the spro crawler crawler after the the water and wind picked up in the afternoon. Water temp was around 47 degrees in the afternoon. Caught the K in the pic below on the 2nd cast with the Rock crawler. Hit it like a freight train. Fished this morning and mainly threw the jerker because the water temps had cooled off some and the sun was not out. Caught 4 and had a few other followers I saw chasing the jerkbait back to the boat when I was reeling in. Caught the bigger girl below on a point probably in less than 10 feet of water. I cranked the jerker down a few times and one twitch then bam. I thought I was hung at first. Really thought she was a lot bigger by the way she fought. All in all a great trip and glad to be back out on the water. Can't wait to come back down next weekend.

  13. I've got some looks from some trout fisherman when I take a 6' 10" with 10 lb line to the river with a Jerkbait tied on. When you go after the big Browns you have to be prepared or they will eat your lunch and work you over. It all depends on what you are throwing and what you are specifically targeting.
  14. T they usually have some in the vision department where you can get your prescription eye glasses. They had some on a rack at the Manchester location.
  15. Thanks for the heads up. I went ahead and picked up a couple for that price. If I don't like them I guess I could always sell them and get my money back for what I paid for them.
  16. I know they say they come in from the roaring River and beaver tail water but it just makes me wonder how they make it all the way to the dam area. That seems like quite a swim
  17. It's not just you. I have seen several reports it seems in the last couple of years of people catching trout. Even seen some caught in the middle of summer on drop shot in the dam area.
  18. Dandy trout there! I've caught two in the lake but never anything that big.
  19. Oh I loved the high water and picnic tables ?
  20. Nice fish Jeff! You boys had a good day.
  21. I think Table Rock is about to explode into a world class smallmouth fishery. I couldn't believe how many 3 + lb smallmouth I caught last spring. In the next few years we could be looking at tons of 4 + lb smallmouth here. There is so many of them in the lake. I think we have some fantastic smallmouth fishing ahead of us gents.

What a shame. Those looked to be some nice smallmouth as well. Reminds of a time when I was on the current River serveral years ago trout fishing below baptist and seen a guy with a stringer full of big smallmouth he caught up one of the creeks. Can't believe people take them out to eat since I hear they have worms sometimes and taste bad.
  23. I've always heard the opposite T. I use brighter colors on cloudy days and more natural on sunny days. It does depend on your preference though and I have switched this around vice versa as well. Mostly stick with the first thing mentioned though.
  24. Nice report. I fished down there as well and managed to catch 2 in the 4 lb range and had one that was close to 5. The weekend before the river was getting beat to death. Vehicles were stacked at tan vant and baptist. It was crazy.
  25. Just be glad it's not on your carpet bill like it is on my nitro carpet. Not a good deal at all. Super glue stays home from now on.
