  1. Did they end up having the tourney this past Sunday?
  2. 55 to 57 yesterday up around Roark.
  3. Put back in at Roark Bluff first thing yesterday morning and ran back up the creek and into the timber to see if the fish were still there from last week, they were there but not as many. The lake was up another foot and I believe the fish were tucked back even further into the buck brush, in areas that we couldn't get to. The shad were not present like last week and the wind was not out of the north like last week. We ended up catching roughly 20 and would have had a limit that would have weighed 12 or 13 pounds. Came out of the river mid afternoon and caught a few whites on the flats and then found a pocket that had some grass in it and caught another couple of keepers. Spinnerbaits and jigs with an occasional shakey head fish were the baits of choice. I found it also interesting that the water had not clouded up at all after all the rain?? Cloudy all day, misty, 64 degree water, S.E. breeze of 10. Dad is in town this next week, anybody catching any crappie and want to share info? Tight Lines!
  4. Out of the 25 caught I think only 7 were keepers. And yes, RB = Roark Bluff. The rain later this week should really get them turned on!!
  5. I didn't catch any eyes but the guy I talked to on the ramp said he had caught 4 walleye while bass fishing, 2 of which kept.
  6. Went out of R.B., on the water by 7:15. Ran up into the timber and started catching fish on the spinnerbait. It was hit & miss all morning until I finally figured out where they were. The water was up and in the buck-brush so that was where I found most of the fish. I also caught some on the shakey-head on the bluff ends. Ended up catching roughly 25 with the best 5 going maybe 12 lbs. It was a very windy day (N.W. 15 to 20), bluebird skies, high of 65, water temps of 65 to 68. The best clue I can tell you is fish shallow, very shallow, windy banks! I also talked with another guy who was doing the same thing but was fishing main lake pockets in the mid-lake area.
  7. What type of banks were you fishing? Main lake or coves? Thanks Dutch!
  8. Back up yesterday afternoon out of Mutton. Tried to find crappie but with zero luck, talked to other crappie guys who were skunked too. Ended up bass fishing points in the twin-bridges area. Caught about a dozen bass with 2 nice keepers and one Kentucky that went 14 & 7/8" and was as round & fat as the ones at T.R. Almost all the bass we have found over the past 2 trips have been on chuck rock in 12 to 15 FOW. I bet we have also caught 6 or so walleye's that were in the 12 to 14 inch range, seems a bunch of them that size are around this time of year. Tight Lines!
  9. I should have said "Bass Report, 9/21. Out of Mutton and on the water about 6:30. Could not find anything yet in the back of creek's so we fished main lake points all day. Ended up catching about 50 with 6 or 7 keepers. Best 5 would have gone 11 lbs. Caught some nice smallies today, Kentuckies, and a couple short Walleyes on the wind blown points. Shakey heads and a few spinnerbait fish seemed to be the ticket. Bluebird skies, 15 mph N. winds, 75 degrees. Headed up later today to see if we can find some crappie. Tight Lines!
  10. I have stayed at the Oak Park Motel in Greenfield, pretty scary place....... And I don't require much.
  11. Went out of State Park, started out in the rain about 6:00am. Caught the first one on a blade and caught others on a number of different baits. Best luck was on a drop shot in about 15 to 20 fow. My buddy caught 2 really nice keepers on the bottom in about 30 fow on a swimbait. Tight Lines!
  12. I love it that they have ethanol free premium for the boat. I filled up the boat, and the gas for the truck was the same price that it was in Springfield.... $3.14!! What a great way to support the independent owner!!
  13. Thanks all, I think I'll go out of State Park on Thursday. Sounds like it's supposed to be cloudy/rainy so maybe they will come shallower? If not I'll find some deep points and use the big stuff! Tight Lines.
  14. Maybe it should have read "Lack of Bass Report". :-) Put in at Roark at 5:30, fished till 3:30. Had my first one on a spinnerbait before it got light and thought here we go!! Then nada for the next hour. Ran up river into the trees and the bass were going nuts chasing shad, caught 8 or 10 on a kastmaster but nothing over 13". Spent the next 3 hours trying all my " good" spots without so much as a thump. Ran back into Powerline Cove and caught my only 2 keepers on a finess worm on a shakey head. Spent another 3 hours dragging a c-rig on main lake points without any luck. 82 degree water, mostly sunny, 10 mph northerly wind. Guess I'll try some main lake stuff later this week. I'm open for suggestions???? Tight Lines!
  15. Fished the Friday tourney out of Hermitage, fished from 7:30 to 1:00. Ran into the Pomme arm and we had a small limit within 45 min. Got tough after dark but ended up culling 3 with a final weight of 9.8. 23 boats and I think we took 6th or 7th. Big bag was 15+. We caught most fish on Brush Hogs, biggest bass came on a black/blue spinnerbait. Tight Lines!!

  17. What a waste Of big fish, just one guys opinion. Don't have anything against keeping some, just wish folks would only keep the 15 inchers and leave the big kids in the pool. Not intended to be an ugly/hateful post, just my thoughts.
  18. A-Rig would be my guess.
  19. Great 3 days on the H2o! Two days out of Mutton and one day out of Roark. Total of 95 bass, 2 20" walleye, and one crappie. Fish came on jigs, crankbaits, spinner baits, shakey-heads with a small craw trailer, and brush hogs. Water in Sons was 58-60, main lake was 56 to 58, some water in the back of the coves was 62/63. Largest bass was 5.6. Mostly bluebird skies with 10 to 20 south winds. Channel swing banks with chunk-rock in the backs of creeks was the best. Most of the time if you caught one bass you ended up catching 8 or 10 in the same area. Shoulder and wrist hurts but the pain was well worth the gain! Photos to follow tomorrow. Next week should be a great one, the crappie should be HOT! Tight Lines!
  20. Where is the tourney launching?
  21. There are a bunch of carp jumping in the very back of coves. I think this means they are ready to spawn, go kill those things.
  22. Panfisher, were you up in Son's?
  23. Put in at Roark ahead of the tourney guys and ran up Sons. We stayed in the timber all day and had over 40 bass, nothing big but our best 5 would have gone maybe 15. About 10:00 I was pitching a 1/2 oz spinnerbait and a crappie about 14" came out of 2' of water and hammered that spinnerbait. We stopped on that shallow point and ended up catching 7 nice slabs (4 females & 3 males) before the wind blew us off the bank. We also caught some nice whites and a few drum. We caught the fish on the same stuff I have reported for the past 3 weeks. My guess is that the river crappie are heading to the bank this week just as soon as it warms back up!! 25mph wind/gusts over 30, cloudy & rain most of the morning, water temps 55 to 60. Tight Lines!
  24. Yep, pretty much the same story for us. We had pretty good luck out of Mutton today. They just seem to shut off after lunch???
  25. Also will be headed out of Mutton tomorrow. I pretty much played from the bridge back north to Hawker. With the south wind it was hard to find a bank to fish on the east side of the lake, but when you did it usually had fish. Good luck tomorrow, I will be in a black Champion with a straw hat on. Come by and say hi if you see us. I also forgot to mention that I stopped by a brush pile in 25' of water, dropped a jig down to the bottom and instantly hooked a nice 13" slab. I thought, "Here we go!", spent the next 30 min without a bite. darn fickle things, they have to get hungry soon.....don't they?? Stockton is fishing as good as I can ever remember, get up there and find some tight lines!! ;-)
