Rick,
The only fishing I've been doing has been in my dreams. Too many fly rods. Tell me when your going down to Taney and I'll make a big effort to get away!!! You of anyone would know about the big ones!!!
Went fishing again this Saturday. It was Hot and fun!! Caught a lot of fish and there were a lot of fish in the river. The river was at a good hight but lower. Lots of people fishing up in Zone 1. Lots of room in the fly area to fish. Killer Worm was my ticket. Quit fishing at 10:30 and had caught 40 fish. The 39th fish was a fat 2lb fish. I was about to sweat into a puddle so I left. I really didn't want to. I was still catching fish. Lots of fish hitting the top. Tight lines!!!!
You might find this hard to believe but I got to go fishing Saturday!! First trip this year! I had a blast!!! I got down there about 7 and drove by the Zone 1 and it looked like opening day! Lot's of people. I went and got my tag thinking that it was going to be a crowded day fishing. I went down to the fly area and the lot was full there also. AHH! I got rigged up and walked down and boy was I surprised! Not a lot of people there. I started with the Killer Worm and started catching fish. The river has a lot of fish in it and is in great shape. I fished till 11 and caught 30+ fish and didn't have to fight for a spot to fish at all. If I would have hooked half the fish that bit I would have caught 60 fish. A lot rusty on the hook set!!! ALL GOOD DAY!!!!! I'm going back soon!!!
It's one of my more favorate places to go. It's great for family get aways. It's at the end of the road and you don't have everyone driving thru just looking around. Fun!!
I have two of the gold Classics and they came with an extra spool. It was a store buy only deal. I wish I had gotten another one to put up. Great reels with no problems. It was also 8 years ago.
Laker76 it's a good year for rod and blank sales!! Sold one to a guy in China last night. I've been building rods and shipping blanks!!! I wish I was trying to wear out some fishing line so I could justify buying new line!! Thanks for thinking about me! I've been fishing twice this year!! Sad!!!
I'm with exiledguide. 8years out of a line sounds like a winner to me! My favorite rod in the parks is a 7'6" 3wt and Taney at night 9' 6wt. I want the big browns to know I'm there!
I got to go fishing last Sat the 6th!!! Yea!! It was great!!! Met a couple buddies from Columbia there. We fished the upper end and there were a few people there in the one hole by the parking area. There were a few fish in a couple holes but the rest was hit and miss. I used the killer worm and did a lot of sight seeing and unwinding!!! I've only been fishing twice this year. The rod building is keeping me close to the house!! That's a good thing for the buisness but bad for fishing!! I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't love it. The morning catch was a lot of fun. It slowed down a little and Marshall wanted a midge. I gave him a rusty midge. MAN did it get hot!!! He caught I bet 25 fish in guick order!!! Mike did the same!! It was great to watch them!! One bad thing! I've got a small hole in my waders!! Little wet in the crotch!! Felt kinda good!! Tight lines!!!!
Hey everyone,
I've been thinking about adding a 0wt to my line up and I'm very undecided on the length. I want it to be a 4pc for sure. Could you all be so kind to give me feed back. Thank you all!!!
